This series sure seems insane with their Shredder(s). First there’s alien war criminal Shredder, now here’s Demon King Shredder, literally if Shredder is a demon king straight out of a isekai series, adding sprinkles of Ryomen Sukuna and Ganondorf. 😅 My favourite parts are how Cj said this Shredder has a domain expansion that literally brings hell on Earth. It’s like Dagon’s domain, but he fuses New York with hell instead of opening a beach in a train station. And also how he implies that the spells to revive this Shredder is literally the same as Mickey Mouse summoning his clubhouse. 🙂 And also, seeing how the final battle is straight up turtle dragons VS a demon dragon, CJ should’ve make a TOTK reference there. 😅

Friendly reminder that the Tengu Shredder was around for only one season for a total of 12 episodes. The details are unknown, but this is likely because , at this point, the show had started to suffer from production issues from behind the scenes as the producers and execs felt the show was getting *too dark & conveluted* and demanded a soft rebranding in the form of Fast Forward and then changed their minds when that simply wasn't as popular, resulting in the show kind of getting cancelled due to the mixed ratings & viewership (go figure, the suits created an imaginary problem, tried to fix it and the show suffered for it) and all before the writers could do their planned Shredder War arc where we would have had *Utrom Shredder, the new Cyber Shredder and Tengu Shredder* all popping off and warring with each other to see who gets to rule as the one TRUE Shredder. We did end up getting the true finale with Utrom trying to destroy the multiverse, but it felt like we skipped *entire seasons* worth of content because of executive meddling. Resulting in the Tengu and Cyber Shredder in particular, being deined the screentime they SHOULD have had.

this was after most of 4kids other edited shows. but worth noting that 4kids was forced to make the edits they did, either by networks like the WB, by broadcast standards, or by the original japanese owners (esp One Piece, a show 4kids never wanted but had to take as part of a deal to get magical doremi. Toei was obsessed with getting their big properties on US TV). also, its ALOT easier to get stuff passed the censors when you are making a show, vs editing an existing one. I'm reminded of trey park and matt stone talking about making the south park movie and how the film is alot worse thanks to censors as they would send a clip in, get notes to cut stuff, they'd make the joke worse and longer and send it back and the censors would be like, ok. I mean, 4kids funded ultimate muscle season 2 and manage to get a character who's face was LITERALLY a bare ass onto US national television. lol i still remember the commercials. "you can't host this, your face is a BUTT. we can't show that on tv"

Tengu Shredder was destroyed by the plot. That's why Utrom Shredder is an absolute threat. When he learned about the multiverses, he was shocked. Every time Shredder wins, they miraculously survive or win by the power of the plot. This discovery drove him crazy and he decided to destroy the multiverse because their confrontation has no end. They are stuck in a loop. Utrom Shredder was even ready to destroy himself so that this endless cycle would disappear. But the plot was stronger and he lost. But he will come back. Because there was one episode where the turtles got to a possible future. In this future there was a war of 3 Shredders. Tengu Shredder, Utrom Shredder, Cyber ​​Shredder. This means that Utrom Shredder's theory about an infinite cycle was correct. Because all 3 Shredders came back from the dead. And Utrom Shredder is the only one who knows the truth, which means he has an infinite number of chances to destroy the multiverse and in one of them he will definitely succeed

The Tengu Shredder actually could have turned most if not the entire world into Hell right then and there, he just wanted to squeeze every ounce of suffering he could out of the population for entertainment. 3. The Tengu Shredder was only around for *1 season* He was so OP and vile that he basically *had* to be a one-off villain. 4. Tengu Shredder calling his old teammates "p@ssyless" when one of them is a *woman* is wild when you think about it 💀

The point wasn't that 4kids censored American shows. 4Kids censored Anime specifically like mad. That ain't a rice ball, no kids know what rice is so they can't possibly handle a wad of rice with a bit of seaweed. No, that's a jelly filled donut. Sanji's not smoking a cigarette, that's a lollipop. TMNT has guns, but guns in Anime make no sense. Remove the guns from any Anime you come across. Ash gonna get shot maybe? Can't have that. Koby getting pointed at by a gun by corrupt Marine officials? Make the gun some stupid contraption that literally nobody has ever seen in their lives. YuGiOh doesn't have Hell, that's the Shadow Realm. Have two lesbians in Sailor Moon as main characters that are in fact very obviously into each other? Make them sisters with no other changes besides dialogue and make it somehow worse than if you left them as is. I'm not saying that we didn't have great shows back then that respected their audiences. I'm saying that there was a double standard that made no sense for Anime, and 4Kids was one of the largest and worst examples of unnecessary censoring while still having TMNT go off with minimal changes or omitted scenes or episodes. Baxter Stockman rotted to death in one of the few episodes banned from the TMNT 2003 show btw. Made a new body but he literally rotted and died canonically.
