The reason he said being a paratrooper is sketchy he mentioned in his video on “the angels” that there was no good paratrooper operations over Africa and Italy also it was really new at this point and the only major German paratrooper operation failed and his video on the “the angels” basically explains how the angels saved the idea of paratroopers because I believe Eisenhower wanted to get rid of division sized paratrooper groups (btw I highly recommend watching his video on the angels it is one of the saddest and most impressive stories I’ve heard)
I am not going to lie to you. When i listen to that video the ending when that warrior calls the woman that was born in that camp brings me to tears every time. A man who was willing to give his life to save these people was haunted for 40 years thinking he disfigured that baby while trying to save her life, and he got the closure of findinding out she lived scar free. That is a good man with a big heart.
I'm sure it's sketchy because before this there is no paratroopers. So someone saying "wanna jump out of a plane and float down behind enemy lines" probably sounds nuts
Hey man. It is 10000% true, anything you put in your videos that adds to the "ambiance" or that adds to any videos, if you use youtube as a revenue source. You can write it off on your taxes of course talk to your tax dude but yeah if you make money on youtube write some shit off. Take advantage!
Alot of people fled to the netherlands, not knowing the germans where gonna run over them too and capture quiete a few people who left germany, luckily a large proportion of those people went from the netherlands to england or the usa before that happened.
Also I got you, bro. That $1 would have been about $16 today, but that's just adjusted for inflation overall. That's not the buying power figured in. Like, you could get 3 pounds of macaroni for like 25 cents. It's such a different economy that it's actually hard to accurately compare to our modern one.
At that rate then the macaroni would have been more expensive back then if 25 cents only got you 3 pounds since you can get macaroni for $1/pound nowadays when not even buying bulk meaning $3 current dollars for 3 pounds vs $4 current dollars at your conversion
@@TheJellyySquidd how much you would get for $1 back then is irrelevant to what I'm talking about the math I'm using works out fine you just gotta take the time to actually think about it
@noodlelynoodle. You said macaroni would have been more expensive back then so, no, your math isn't mathing....macaroni is more expensive now, because for $3 back then you'd get 36 pounds compared to the pound you just mentioned
@@TheJellyySquidd I'm talking about $3 modern dollars not $3 from back then as I stated in my original comment, read through it again because you are clearly not reading it properly. $3 today would have been 18 cents back then which is cheaper than the 25 cents mentioned in the original comment
Ya know the wermacht I understand. Believing there was an entire battalion because they got held up, never imagined America would out ghost warrior the og bloodline for those soldiers
Watch the short section of interview at the end. It's telling that he still felt he could have done more (the silence is heartbreaking). Great men only see their flaws.
Best, and most heart-breaking. He obviously still felt like a failure, even after the magnitude of his success was known to him, and his platoon was awarded for it.
I wouldn't say "poorly run" necessarily. It was a pretty new unit type that had.. pretty much no doctrine, no.. established "rules". They kinda HAD to learn as they went. At least that's how I see it.
The problem with the weapons that had been modified was that they fired a glorified pistol round that didn't have a very good effective range. They were more carbines that fired the .30 carbine round not the m1 Garand that fired the 30-06. The BARs were 30-06 that did have greater effective range.
Main reason the Germans had to attack was their oil supply was dire at this point. TiK History has a great video explaining how terrible the situation was and I think Tik is one of the best historians on RU-vid
1:18 I see you editor. Please note, this is just a random comment from a viewer, not AI, and this comment is furthering the Fat Electrician brand and validating the assets used in this video.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but at the end of the video, Nick actually shows an interview. I highly suggest watching Lt.’s demeanor and responses to the couple questions he’s asked. Even with the recognition, I don’t think he felt deserving for having such a massive impact on the war.
well thats what you get with radical teens if you are not with them then you are dead and sadly POWs are not exempt from this so it would take what remains of the german army the wermacht to say no and to fight them its why you have story's of wermacht soldiers fighting along side POWs against the SS
I get it, I'm bombarded by pro Trump texts all day, and I'm just like "who the fuck are you and why are you in my phone?" SO I might need DeleteMe just for that lol
