I agree. And, I think that a glass of wine would have been much more medicinal than a soft drink. But, 2 each their own. I do appreciate Stuart and his expertise in giving us the "low down" of Spain. I love Spain. Saying hello from gorgeous and friendly Taiwan.

There's an arroz en caja en Alcalá de Henares. I'll try it this week. I wonder what the pan is made of. Thanks. Just in case some one comes to Alcalá: close to arroz en caja in Alcala there is a Nepali restaurant which also delivers. They cook Indian cousine too. The real stuff. Restaurante Shiva, and also cheap.

Very good Paella is not limited to just being available in Spain. For example, many Spanish chefs immigrated to the USA (and other parts of the world), bringing their Paella cooking talents with them. My wife also makes a great Paella. Also, of course rice dishes are not limited to Paella. Arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) is another common example.

The old Northamerican electric stoves are perfect to make a paella. Those that are a spiral. The problem is that usually the burner is not big enough. A barbecue can do the jpb, but then you need a large pan. Every one likes arroz con pollo and it's much easier to do.

As someone who lives in the (probably) most expensive country in the OECD at the moment. For those 20 Euros - You would certainly get much more food with much more meat and larger servings

Stu it looks good but hey that's a little expensive you should try the fresh dishes from Mercadona's hot and cold deli counter or the buckets of chicken or ribs with their paella! Spot on even though you have to heat or cook it! Just proves you can eat well for a not lot of money! We were in Fuerteventura a month ago it has got really expensive to eat out every night so tried lots different take away option on alternate nights! ♥️👍

Living in Valencia, I agree that is a rice dish - not paella. Most people do not understand what paella really is. The only comment I would make is that it didn't look very hot. I like rice dishes to be freshly cooked and hot.

Mil gracias por el video Stuart. Lots of rice restaurants here in Valencia. Havnt used them ourselves. Away for over 5 weeks so cooking our own food to save money. Don't normally eat dessert but been ,buying tubs of chocolate ice-cream ,then adding Ron con miel 🍯 when it goes soft .very moreish

Most Spanish rices are actually dry. The broth is absorbed into the rice leaving very flavorful rice grains. Mix that with the meats and veggies and it makes a delicious meal.

The best rice dish I’ve had is a lamb biryani, way more flavour than any Spanish rice dish (paella included) and far better value for money! Your pool looks inviting! 😀

Looks good but the one place they are not is the centre!! Haha...if you know of anywhere that does an amazing Sunday Lunch, please let us know!! I think that's what i miss the most - i know you can eat it on the coast and maybe some irish bars here do it? ..but not sure of any are good though? Thanks!
