I saw your initial complaints on Instagram and was hoping the break-in would help. Clearly, I was wrong. Thanks for making this review, I’ll stick to their GBBRs if I decide to get a KWA AK in the future.
Lol I loved the salt levels displayed in this video. Well done as always, dude! I've used so many KWA products and had a decent experience with them, but it sure as hell seems that their AKs need to go back to the drawing board. For me, the LCT AK is the one and only truth, everything else is heresy lol.
Leand Martin yep, CYMA’s pretty fuckin’ rad! My friend has had a CYMA Tactical AK for... I wanna say since Christmas of 2011, and it still freaking works. I just love LCT cause externals are what I care about lol
VFC'S AK'S are pretty dope too : - They have the typical Russian AK's glossy paint on the receiver because they're phosphated (and baked) - They have correct selector markings (space between the markings) - Correct markigs/proof marks/serial numbers on the fake BCG - So easy to adapt Real Steel parts on it because of the dimensions of their guns, very RS - LIKE - The fake charging handle recoil all the way to the rear like a real AK - The Rear Sight leaf is grey (not black or what so ever!) like real Russian AK'S (only Inokatsu AK'S kit have this type of Rear Sight) - The wood of the AK74 fixed stock, AKSU, AIMS, AKS74 or AKM/AKMS was gorgeous ! - The Pistol Grip is very thin for an AEG, LCT pistol grip are way thicker (I don't talk about the LCT slim pistol grip) - Pistol Grip is very good looking, especially for the models which mimic the Bakelite type grip - The magazines, back in the days, they had the good shape, they were not too long, no reinforcements on the side of the Bakelite style mags (unlike the Cyma, LCT, E&L...) All these features were on the market in 2007 to 2012, VFC made very good AK'S, just compare a real Izmash AK with a VFC, just the paint, they're really the same. LCT AK'S are not ugly or something, but the glossy paint is not here, the steel is very good, the wood too, but some details are not good, especially the front end of their AKSU, a disaster, lot of videos compares it to the E&L and a real AK, it's pretty lame... Unfortunately, VFC'S AK'S are out of stock everywhere because they don't make them anymore, I have 4 of these, and I'll never let them go out of my collection, never. LCT AK'S are a very good alternative (with Cyma) and they are way better than E&L AK'S, but a little bit unealistic if you compare with the VFC AK'S honnestly, so no, something else it's not an heresy, especially if it's a VFC AK.
Interesting. I own one of these, found an 11.1v battery that fit, with no issues. Even added a magpul hand guard kit, still with zero issues fitting. As for mags, had no issues with other brands fitting. CYMA , LCT, G&G all fit with slight modification, which was the same with my LCT AK. The only mag that didn’t work was the one provided with the gun by KWA (go figure). Have to politely disagree with your review. Gamed mine many times, and it’s still stock and shoots great. Could just be how Airsoft QC is all over the place.
Tovarishch Simpel Which one? The cheaper ones with polymer lowers or the full-steel ones? The steel ones are quite expensive from my experiences, but that could be due to the fact that I’m in Canada looking at Canadian stores.
I have had a CYMA AK 077 (that's a model not available in the US BTW) for a while and it hasn't had any major problems, which is not something i can say for my other guns.
I have a cyma and a lct ak. Great weapon's. Just hate that u gotta get them rewired in the top for the battery. Not a fan of inscwering things so I got mine rewired
I have a G&G RK-74T. The thing is absolutely amazing, both internally and externally. Looking to get myself an LCT AK sooner or later, though. The more the merrier.
This is actually my primary weapon, and the only mechanical issue I've run into is my gearbox's tendency to sometimes lock up. It does seem this is a trend with this gun though, either the gun works forever or breaks nearly immediately. My buddy has a KWA RM4 that was pretty screwed up right out of the box and had to send it back. At least KWA fixes these issues timely and there aren't too many bad reviews on their customer service.
Agreed. Their GBBRs are pretty dope (other than hopup design, worse than the AEGs), but it seems that with their AEGs they can't quite get things right with anything outside of the M4/AR series.
Nice video! Personally I like my CYMA AK-74M Full Metal,I don't have a lot of experience with airsoft, but that AK-74 model is pretty good.Beautiful and functions well. And sturdy. The KWA you just reviewed reminds me of those plastic, spring, kid's toy airsofts.
I like how this is narrated, sarcastic and humorous. Most reviews are like blah blah blah, so I skip 'em to watch the actual demo of the gun. But this one... this one I'll watch from start to finish
a really long while back i remember buying an E&L AK, it looked good right out of the box, i threw a new fully charged battery in there and it only shot 3 bb's, it now sits somewhere in a footlocker in my garage ( btw it was broken and since i bought it from Poland i could not sent it back without a lot of fuss )
Dude I just found your channel and I love it! Keep up the good stuff man! Glad to see that there are others that like c9ld war guns :) like your G3 review. And that Galil mag load at 9:13 was the smoothest thing I’ve seen so far this year.
I've got one, and played with it a few times. I actually really enjoy the gun, however the hop up seems a little off... even on the lowest setting, it still tends to give the BB too much hop. It's fine if I use a much heavier BB like a .32
Wait.....wait....1 min 40 secs in....KWA gives guns in white Styrofoam. I thought they upper tier guns even black foam looks better. This is a bad sign
I like how honest you are with your reviews you don't say its great when its trash to keep companies happy like other youtubers thanks for an honest review.
For the price of that KWA I rather buy a cyma and the left over money get a few more mags.you have some of the best reviews on you tube. Keep them coming!!!
USAirsoft I recently purchased a PTS CM4 that exhibited the same issue you had: only working sometimes with some batteries. Turns out the issue was actually the tamiya connector. The pin in the tamiya connector isn't secured very well, leading it to get pushed out. Since the connectors are so close to the recoil system (in the case of the ar15s at least), your battery connection can end up being shaken loose by the recoil. I would suggest trying to shove the wire further into the tamiya connector and see if that improves your issue.
my kwa AKR74M is the best gun ive bought yet, nothing rattles, nothing wobbles, the mags feed perfectly and works like a dream, never misfired or anything. You probably got a bad batch or something. I eventually put a Asura Dynamics B10M Hand guard, B-33 Dust cover, and DTK-1 Muzzle Break on it and it so sexy.
I must be a lucky one, got one of these years ago and it worked pretty well, and I liked the system enough to transplant the internals of this gun onto an E&L full steel kit. (which reverts it to normal AEG hop).. cost me quite a lot to build and is my go to AK AEG..
2-month-old comment I know. However, they made the selector that way because they knew people would panic in a firefight and just slam the selector all the way down.
It’s not that they don’t fit a ak is usually chambered in .556 but the akr is chambered in .762(standard ar bullet size) that’s why the clips are realistically different. Hence why you could only use a ar mag.
The intro to this review has so many references..Geez, We got Big Smoke going MAH DAWG We got the Cheat code sound from GTA All-Might as Yugi and the Chris Cole Fallens shoe was the best shoe, Fight me skater boys.
Dude, just spend the 10 minutes to shape the mag latches to fit. One time and done. The hopup issue is probably some grease on the bucking to clean off. The electrical issue is a bit frustrating though...
That pin that comes out of the magazine looks like abs plastic and will probably snap sooner than later. The problem with the random firing is the trigger contacts especially if you used an 11.1.
Great review, love how snappy it is and a bit of humour is always good! I will say in fairness to the gun, magazine incompatibility is just something you live with if upgrading. Let’s face it, the technology will no doubt never evolve if everything has to be backwards compatible. Also, as for the gun dying, what battery were you using for the test?
Exactly, leave the blowback to the GBBs, they do it organically. Blowback only messes with your accuracy and if you want realism you should get a GBB anyway.
Why does everyone get it wrong with the front sight? The front sight is for wintage and the rear sight for elevation, it wouldnt make sense to make the front sight for elevation and the rear sight too, it could be possible that the manufacturer got it wrong too, but for educational purposes: The front sight is for wintage ;)
Did you check the Tamiya Plug...? Because mine failed immediately and caused the same issues. I'd also check the tabs on your motor, they may have shaken loose. I run ERGS and aside from the break-in period, they all run fine. To speed up the "Break-in", fire a magazine, remove the hop up, and get the bucking out, clean with dishsoap and alcohol. Grease gets on the bucking from the amount of grease in the gearbox and fucks with your hop for the first few hundred rounds.
Had a similar problem out of the box. Turned out the contacts of the fuse were randomly opening the circuit. Shoots flawless since I cut the fuse part out of it and put a deans on it. They really need to get rid of current fuse types and switch to something better that idea was bad from the beginning and got worst with recoil added on top.
Hello, I've been interested in this replica for a while but the only review I found was this one and therefore logically I didn't buy it; thank you for your comment, do you have something else to tell me about your replica: power, build quality ... Thank you in advance. (my english is very basic, translation by google) Greetings.
I owned the gas blowback version of this rifle from KWA. Worked great for a long time, but the magazines were prone to leaking. One magazine leaked so bad I just couldn't use it any more. I could not repair the magazine, took it apart, tried fixing the gasket, still leaked. Eventually the bolt on the rifle began to stick. At times it would not cock, and would also stick while shooting. The rifle became a maintenance nightmare. I eventually sold it. I would not recommend the gas blowback version from KWA either.
I have a 60th addition Kalashnikov ak47 and works pretty well for me. It is my first gun so I don't have anything to compare it to but, by watching your reviews looks like a got a banger for $150
All KWA recoil systems have the same failure point, the bolt stop feature. On the older PTS/Magpul collab ones, the feature works much better for whatever reason, but the modern ERG system just isn't good enough. It's a simple process to remove the feature from any ERG so it functions as intended, but that isn't an ideal thing that a consumer should be required to do. It took a lot of work for my Magpul RM4 to work the way I wanted it to, and that was after having a mad scientist or two figure out solutions. Many have tried to emulate the Systema method, but most just don't cut it.
I have one and still use it frequently. No issues so far but I use a CYMA 600 round high cap and all KWA 120 round mid caps. Maybe because I switch between my guns a lot I haven't encountered any issues. 330-340 fps with .25's. And 310-320 fps with .28's
