the outrage comes from the expectation that she should know and be aware of what she's referencing, even as a joke, due to the amount of influence and media attention she has. with such a large fanbase its important to know what you're talking abt, joking abt, imitating, or caricaturizing. self awareness is important when youre an influencer.
Those Hollywood events started losing credibility the second they started letting "influencers" come. People used to make fun of celebs like Kim K because they were talentless and famous just for being famous. Yet they created an entire era of it.
LOL so you think celebrities are is a higher position than influencers and when the club is not exclusive anymore, these stupid events are no longer worthy , No they are calling in influencers cuz no one cares ab celebrities anymore and they desperately want some attention.
Blaming a random model and carrying on about how much her rent is while politicians and the government monitoring the housing crisis face no accountability. Wake up. 😭
Nah. No swifties went far enough to block her. People are realizing these people are only on their pedestals and only rich bc we give them attention that they don’t even deserve
FYI from what I understand she actually got that apartment in her divorce. She was divorced to a pro football player and she got the apartment before she went viral on TikTok so she paid for it with the divorce money not necessarily by being famous on TikTok
In my opinion again this is selective outrage , Haylee don't need to apologize, people have being using this sound bite for long time why when this specific person start using it she's cancelled.
First of all, "influencer" STILL isn't a real job. Second, when you're famous for no reason, you don't deserve to be famous. Third of all, the block is because of their ignorance on the literal holocaust happening right now and refusal to use their platforms and money to stand up against it. But also, ending crapitalism, because anyone with an IQ over 80 knows this entire system is bullshit. Lastly, nobody should ever be having parasocial relationships with "influencers" (that word is still so absurd it's funny), content creators, or even actual celebrities anyway. It's toxic and unhealthy. Go make real friends instead.
People calling other people celebrities, in first place is the sad part. Like, what they do? They aren't Jesus. Jesus is a celebrity, but this people? What do this people need to be celebrated for? They sang a song? Well, I do the same at each birthday party and no one celebrates that.
I've ignored the average person's obsession with the concept of celebrity and did quite an eye-roll at the 'name' of the show American IDOL. It get's harder to ignore when 2/3 the planet's population decided they too are going to be celebrities and make social media the most anti-social place on earth shy of prison camps.
@@moon66487maybe because they r famous? Calling someone a celebrity doesn't mean celebration its simply just someone who is well known throughout the world.
as elvis said when asked about his political views, he said “im just an entertainer, i keep my views to myself.” cause entertainers are entertainers, not politicians. too bad everyone else thinks their opinion suddenly matters
@@JACCO20082012 right side or not it doesnt impact them either way, we aren’t going to see their names in the history books because they simply do not matter. the only reason they need to be on the “right side” is so they don’t get cancelled-for their own gain. you can’t please everyone either, so best to keep your mouth closed and stay neutral
I miss when they were JUST entertainers. Considering they live a lifestyle of the 1% why would majority of their views ever be relevant to the majority who work day in day out.
I don't follow celebrities but people are blocking them so they can't make money from them. Because celebrities gain revenue out of ads, even if you don't follow them
They're maintaining blacklists of people who haven't spoken out about their one issue. I'm for acknowledging that celebrities are wastes of space, but it risks having an ethic of digital mccarthyism. Then if they actually succeeded, they would have cowered the powerful into submission. Saying the 'right' thing from a position of cowardice, is preferred to disagreeing from a position of conviction. They'll take cowards espousing views they don't believe for propaganda purposes - not dissenters. It's has the vibe of extortion. I'm not on any of those sites. I despise celebrity as a concept. But I can't approve of the undercurrent.
People need to stop complaining about something that has always existed and will continue to exist. Put that energy into serving your community and helping those in need, because frankly, there is always someone lower in the food chain than you. All complaints put against the celebs in this video can be just as easily applied to us all.
THANK YOUU, all these people spending their time fighting over some internet drama instead of doing something useful for our society, people dying and these people are worried abt a tiktoker. Insane!
I think that this blockout is just ridiculous and people should actually start to do something to contribute to their community or others overseas. Blocking celebrities doesn’t do shi. If u don’t wanna follow them then just unfollow and ignore them. Simple as that.
People do things for your unfortune in reality too and block out is just another form of protesting and trying to decrease the glorification of messed up celebrities.
Why is it socially acceptable to lash out in jealousy over someone else's riches? What does global conflict and economic instability have to do with this tiktoker? Did she cause any of it? Why do rich people need to be in touch with us anyway? To keep our hissy fits at abeyance? That being said, I have no problem whatsoever with blocking celebrities. But the public shaming seems cruel and irrational.
Though it is true that global conflict and economic instability is no way her fault. But the thing is she is not acknowledging her own wealth as seen in her apology video, her calling herself a normal person when she lives in an apartment for which she has to pay $17,000 EVERY month. People are just agitated that when there are many people suffering from things like hunger and poverty, rich people like her can't even be thankful or acknowledge what they have.
@@blueanima8623 you're missing the point. they don't need to pretend to be a 'normal person' just to gain the sympathy of those who might relate to her. that's the least her followers are expecting from her, because she's known to be 'real'.
Fun fact: Marie Antoinette actually never said let them eat cake. It was propaganda spread by French revolutionaries that had actually been attributed to multiple French nobles at the time. The earliest noting of the phrase being used in the context of the poor people of France was when Marie herself was around ten years old, four years before she even came to France and most likely before she ever casually spoke French with anyone.
Thank you - I was looking for this comment. Marie Antoinette has been a scapegoat for the poor governance of the french monarchy at the time, it is such a shame that so many people still believe she was a primary contributing factor for the revolution.
Everybody knows that. The problem was that this phrase symbolizes how out of touch the elites are, and how they don’t comprehend the situation normal folks are in, they don’t care about their suffering. It doesn’t really matter that Marie Antoinette didn’t say in the context of this "drama". The sentence still keeps its meaning, despite the fact she specifically didn’t say it.
same! I find it so weird, how the media has conditioned us to care about people who are not even part of our lives. Like seeing a post about Kim Kardashian dying her hair blonde is so strange and irrelevant like why is that news?
Most of these "influencers" lives are made up nonsense. My buddy works for a company that has a fuselage of a Gulfstream G6 and they pay to film themselves getting on and off the "plane" They even bring all 4 seasons of clothes to film an entire year in one day. Look I'm in Aspen. Look I just landed in Aruba.
This is pure hypocrisy. They earn their money, it’s theirs not yours. so why should we dictate how they spend their money?? Many people even in middle class have not donated anything. Also, so many celebrities do donate to charities such as Taylor Swift. Yes it is easy to be jealous of people with money but that doesn’t mean you can hate on things that aren’t their problem or fault. Haley used to be married to a football player AND she was a model so of course she has money?? However she might be rich and all but she is still a normal person, there is a difference between celebrity and influencer. All of the money from the Met is also donated by the way. I really do not understand why people are hating on rich people for spending their money. It’s theirs for a reason?
Not everything is about sexism Rachel. Please think broadly. It is because a literal genocide was not happening in 2022. I know right maybe that’s why ppl are angry and not because she was a woman like you really want it to be
I'm still mad about Kim K wearing Marilyn's dress. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can disrespect an icon's memory in this way. Same for Pete Davidson, the museum, and the people around her for supporting her decision.
The fact that most people don't even know what the Met Gala is for..blows my mind. The Met Gala is a Charity event...all money goes to The Met...specifically their historical clothing/costuming department. It's a costume party...it's supposed to be insanely over the top
@@SammaclauseGamgee The MET costume institute is funded only by donations, mainly from the MET gala. So this one ball gives most part of their yearly budget.
You are one of the people that don't know what the Met Gala is actually for. And maybe its better that way. You wouldn't want to know. The ones that do don't do anything about it anyway. Sometimes ignorance can be a blessing in this case.
If I work for my own money I am free to spend it however the heck I want, why are people mad when rich folks spend their money too? Each person has their own moral compass that will guide them to help those in need or not. Also, Im pretty sure if Haley were to post all the charities she donates to people would say it's wrong to show off that she's helping others. No one wins on the internet
Is it super out of touch? Yes. Are we literally struggling out here to survive to pay back debts most of us didn’t even want? Yes. But they can do whatever they want with their own money. They don’t HAVE to give it away. In fact, lots of them do give money away without being pressured by blockings. But if they don’t want to give they shouldn’t have to. It’s not our place to force them to do what we want with their money.
It baffles me, seriously. That's a monthly mortgage on about 12 properties 🤔 why not just buy? It's so confusing. My guess is that it's sort of like money laundering in that she's doing placement of funds with a rich and powerful property owner whom's version of filtration of the funds is essentially to repay her with lucrative opportunities and contacts. Essentially as if she is a mule but in a very non-conventional way. This may seem far fetched, but the reason I think so is because anybody with a disposable income that high, undoubtedly has a personal accountant and there is NO accountant on this Earth telling you to rent if you can afford to buy.
A lot of those complaining online sound envious, not modest. The difference is that the modest person sees displays of extravagance and is appalled by the arrogance and waste, but the envious person sees the displays and is filled with jealous greed to want to have wealth to flaunt as well.
Blocking a celebrity for not speaking on political issues is WILD😂 I think public figures should always be neutral. That’s what we have “politicians” for hahaha!
Ikr, I've seen people block celebrities just cause they're not speaking about the war. I mean, seriously, how soft do you have to be if you're offended by something that has not been said?
@@Cupcake_RoyaleThat’s true. But a lot of these celebrities screwed themselves years ago when they started becoming political especially when Trump announced he was was running. They were loud about everything else and now those same followers are forcing them to virtue signal. They did this to themselves.
My thoughts about singers and actors "lecturing" the rest of us about politics have always been - Shut up and act. Shut up and sing. That is what you are paid to do. I don't give a damn what you think about any "issues". The same with athletes. Shut up and play ball.
Yeah but celebs aren’t neutral. They pick the causes they want to steer us towards like being in support of Ukraine or gun control. They’re being used to socially engineer us and it’s about time people are recognizing it.
why blame celebrities and not the government? celebrities wearing less expensive dresses and living in normal houses isn't going to help anyone get out of poverty. the government doing something will
People want the celebrities to "suffer with them" so they need these celebrities looking as poor as possible, don't care if they have money behind the screen. It's all about an act.
have you seen the amount of protests every single day around the world and do you do not think that the government knows about them? we're sick of our corrupt greedy leaders who choose money over their humans. at least celebrities have a platform that they could easily reach millions of people with, but do not because 'they don't want to lose their sponsors'.
Because Hollywood and the government are in bed together. We really are just watching one giant movie. All the world is a stage. Government contracts celebrities to push agendas. They think we are stupid and will “follow the stars”. And then the top wealthiest families own and control the governments. And who is at the top of those families? Do you see the final picture yet?
Yup. She’s getting way too much hate… her outfit was INSPIRED by Marie Antoinette hence the audio which in fact was popular a few years back. People are angry at her for “spending 75K to attend” but she literally just took some photos at the entrance, she didn’t attend 😭✋

I love that Haylee Bailey did this. I realize it was unintentional, but i like thinking of it as her intentionally mocking celebrity culture, at a time when populism is on the rise, wehich usually occurs before a revolution (as in the days of Marie Antoinette).
She wasn’t mocking anything. She herself said she didn’t even know what the saying meant. She just thought it was from a movie. Which makes it even worse.

It doesn't. Leftists love celebrities since they help push their causes. This is just jealousy. They're now on TikTok calling for an influencer revolution coz some chick said brands don't pay her enough.
My .02¢. The girl is the video being mad because these influencers/ celebs don't spend their money on people in dire need... money that they earned, I should add... I ask those of you in agreement. How much money do YOU give to people in dire need? How much do YOU donate to charity? If the answer is "nothing", then you have *ZERO* right to be angry with anyone for not giving anything. I have been in the situation where I couldn't afford food. I donated blood. I donated hair. I donated time. And I donated money when I could. So, unless you donate YOUR time and/or resources, you're just a hypocrite
I get that. Although most people if we're talking literally, have done, are doing and will continue to give cash and coins to homeless folks. We pay for homeless peoples food when we can. In the grocery stores alot of people will give 5$ to the orphanages or food banks. That's a HUGE number of the population *consistently* doing this on a day to day basis. So yes, if people made you rich and then you walk by some of those same folks on the street with you're nose up because you think you're high value or something. Them throwing trinkets doesn't mean much to us, especially when most homeless folks or people in dire need are helped by us regular folks... not celebrities or influences or corporations. People are out here helping other people ever day with no flowers.. if those same regular people who have nothing, give everything. Then why do those who have everything, give nothing? Not only do I not care if celebs stay silent on Ukraine, Israel, etc., I _WANT_ them to shut up. But they never do. That's largely why the glamour of old school Hollywood has worn off. Back in the day stars were like our version of royalty. We rarely saw or heard from them except occasionally on Johnny Carson or some such, and we were fascinated with them and imagining what their lives were like. That's why the show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" was popular. People dreamed of becoming one of them. Now, however, we see and hear and read them constantly, and it turns out a large proportion of them are ass hats, if not downright depraved, and no one wants to be one of them. The cloak of glamour has been removed and we see the rot underneath.
