You actually need a take a journey to Bo Burnham's specials to actually understand what a genius he is. I would recommended you go in order. Start with "God's Perspective" and "Left Brain Right Brain". Trust me. Don't go backwards like other people are suggesting in the comments, take them in order, you won't regret it.

Those are two of my favourite ones! Lower Your Expectations is also SO FUN! Especially Left Brain, Right Brain, but I have ADHD & my brain is kinda at war 24/7 so maybe that’s why that one got me extra personally, it felt like my brain was talking to me through Bo, I’ve literally discussed Left and Right Brain convos I’ve had with myself, so that song was like “How is he in my brain?!”, he’s amazing.

All the songs in his 2020 special Inside are in chronological order, and this song comes at around the halfpoint of the film. That means this song was written/performed around late May or early/mid June of that same year, and I think we all remember what happened then. As a Minneapolis resident myself, I'll never forget the taste of the CS gas that permeated the air.

This is great. I wish I was you and could watch Inside for the first time again. You're in for a treat. 😁 Plus Bo just released a one hour 'outtakes' film from Inside. He *is* a genius. You'll love it. Beware though- it is a whole existential crisis mood. I'm looking forward to more Bo reactions 😊

To really understand some of the context of this video, you really need to check of the full video of Bo Burnham in the greenroom. Not only did he outsmart & outjoke most of the comedians there (& at the time he was just 20) but some of the actual basis for this song came out of it.

You got it! Socko is a Gold Toe sock...the long wearing, well made, reasonably priced work horse sock of the middle class in the US. My grand dad, Dad, brothers, hubs and son all get them for Christmas and make a big joke of throwing them over their shoulder. If I know Bo, pretty sure that is part of the commentary as well. I know I am late to discovering your reactions but I really enjoy your takes on Bo and would love to see more.

Wow. You have my favorite reaction to this song yet. And I watch a lot of them. 😆 The sock is yellow on the end because it's a brand calked gold toe socks. They have been around forever. Reasonably priced, well made, good sock. And actually make real different sizes so if your hubby is 6'4" he doesn't have to wear the same socks as your 5'6" son. Their sign are is the gold toe no matter the color of sock. Santa brings them every year to our house. 😉 Not sure if it has deeper meaning here or just happens to be Bo's actual sock.

I think this song is showing three different perspectives on how the world works, the first one is upbeat but too idealistic and simplistic, the second one is still too simplistic, the third perspective shows more of the actual world, how people can get silenced by those in power.

If you're definitely in Bo then don't watch anymore inside. Start with initial RU-vid videos 'my family thinks' 'im Bo yo' are comedy, 'eff' 'rant' are serious rap Then move to his comedy specials then inside. Not just for reaction but at your own time.
