In a recent coaching session with one of my clients, I shared the secret I've used to make millions in tournament poker. It's timeless and still works to this day. Played a tourney today. Flopped nuts. I checked twice. Bet river guy folded. He said he was folding to any bet. He also said i almost let him get there. I thought later i should have min bet the turn to get some ev. He said he might have called. I took that lesson home with me.

Profile him as somewhat passive and bet for value and be cautious when he fires back

Tournaments tend to breed SCARED MONEY when being sent home is on the table... Realize that the other player is in the same mindset... Stay Aggressive and Play Smart when you cover.

Wishy washy framework. Do that nonsense with anyone good, and they will go all in light and chip you down.

What percent of players in a live tournament go 'all in light'. It's probably 10%. Works 90% of the time. Obviously can adjust to the players who are 'part of the 10% club', as you can easily identify those. Furthermore, my client was a senior, so that number is probably 5% or less.
