I worked at the Kentucky Truck Plant(f250-f550 along with expedition and navigator) and I shit you not over OVER 50% of the transmissions had transmission fluid leaking out the front half. Before anyone had attached them to the engine or mounted to the frame. So so sad that a $100,000 dollar truck or SUV has a brand new transmission leaking fluid. I can say that 2018-2021 had these transmissions leaking at the FACTOR
Check depth of spigot bearing in flywheel, if an aftermarket clutch is used they may have also changed the flywheel and its constantly pressing the input shaft into the box
Yeah sounds similar to audi TT gear selector for 1st & 2nd breaks off & drop down. A cheap fix is a ( a bolt & nylon nut) labor is a nightmare prop , 4 wheel drive disconnect , exhaust removal Gear box links etc etc. Audi should pay because of manufacturing fault of Pot rivite breaking.
should have drained and ck trans fluid first and had another trans there already and then customer would be informed about metal in oil not evaluating the problem in proper order mechanic need better training
@@cleverusernamenexttime2779 nope 95 dodge caravan it’s now acting like it’s in low gear if you floor it and let off to early before it’s shifts it’ll bang into gear and shake the whole van. It leaves huge puddles of atf in the driveway after a long drive i noticed if you have it at the proper level it will soak the whole underside I’m guessing first gear is shot and either the torque converter is on it way out or the input shaft seal is also bad.
@@ethanol-fb It can. Though sometimes I'd like to accelerate a little faster. Lots of the newer trade-ins I inspect have synchronized first gear. I also don't like how short first gear is on Subarus. But the old ones are still great little cars.
I need ur e help guys, I have a Toyota Tacoma I bought at an auction but the things is eating too much of my money that I think I’ve just been trusting the wrong guys for the job. If I brought it to your shop would you use for a teaching moment and help repair for me. Thank for your understanding. 😢
it's because all these guys watch movies and race cars and think they have to downshift just put it in neutral put the brake on let it Coast down much better for your transmission
Remind me not to take anything to you, you only have the worst outcomes. Just do the old Ford flush, drain the fluids, flush the system and fill it back up, you didn't need all that metal anyways, just get it out of the system and go back to running for a few more years before actually doing this job that you're doing now. It'll save the customer thousands, but you don't care, we know. You absolutely have to have everything perfect regardless of customers opinions. And you'll like to them and tell them exactly what you want them to hear so they'll praise you for making them spend all this money they didn't need to spend just yet.
What "Euro" car routinely breaks down @ 40-50k & again @ 80-100k. Has little to no chance @ 200k without major expen$ive work?! Ding ding ding! We have a winner! They are pretty but...
Dude ruined his car tryna have fun. Sounds like every kid I’ve ever seen with a Honda. They all blow up, trans will go first then get replaced and then that poor little turd Honda motor will commit seppuku and head straight to the junkyard
Mk6 and mk7 GTI engines are the most problematic engines!!!! Stay away. Is like running in a minefield. You know that you are going to step on a mine and you gonna lose your feet from the explosion!!! Especially when it is dsg transmission!! Just stay away guys. Listen to the mk6gti owner. Is a money pit !!
_"Good thing I didn't went for a VW"_ 1. "I didn't *go* for a VW". Not "went" 2. All transmissions will fail if you abuse them enough. Learn to drive properly.
Typical junk euro car. My jdm 1991 corolla has 400k miles on the original engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It’s never given me any issues.(bought it new in 92) Bought a mid 2000s bmw, the shit broke 25 times and cost hella money to fix each time. I happily sold that pos to the local scrap yard after the engine spun a rod bearing.
@@RainytheNB yea someone beat on the poor thing. Even then I’ve seen people beat the hell out of a Honda or Toyota with little repercussion. Although I did have a friend blow his Subaru’s 6 speed up after money-shifting. Realistically any car will break when it’s abused, but it seems to happen more often to euro cars. Japanese cars are notorious for being overbuilt and tough as tanks. American cars are a hit or miss, you get gems like the 90s Silverado with the 350v8 that can last 400-600k miles. Or you get a Dodge Ram where the trans blows out every 20k miles. Euro cars are mostly unreliable , over engineered and expensive to fix for no reason unless you go back 50 years or more. The old euro cars were great.
@@FuZe. let me put it this way, would you rather replace a clutch or brake pads? Cmon guy, if youre a mechanic you should know this. Stop trying to stick up for kids that dont know shit about driving but want to look cool. Its sad.
I own a 2007 dodge ram with a stick shift. It's now got 116000 miles in it and the motor went out due to me trying to pull a load that was too much for it too handle. Had the tranny checked out and the mechanic said it looks like new inside still. I have been driving stick shift vehicles for well over 30 years and never had a tranny fail on me. Using the tranny to brake is normal, you just gotta know when and how to do it properly. Trying to shift a vehicle without using the clutch normally grenades a tranny real fast, it is something I would never do.
@@BeeRich33 Idgaf if it's a rally winner or the space shuttle, Volkswagens are crap, crap emissions, crap tuning, you can polish a turd, and that's what ppl do with Volkswagens 🤣💩 P.s I hate pay to play big box muscle cars, especially the hellcat. 🤣
