I definitely need the metal pan. Still have 3-4k miles of life on my current oil change so I’m going to wait until then to order. Stupid composite pans leak so bad. I have a new long block from Audi and it leaks oil immediately lol!
That depends. If it's an aluminum pan, that's normal. If it's a composite pan, that *could* mean it's starting to degrade - maybe. If it's steel, the paint came off, but it hasn't rusted yet. Or, it was painted. Edit: you mean the inside? That's not good. If you're using oil additives, stop using them. Take a sample and get it analyzed. Change more frequently and see if it clears up, and sample again.
@@joewontwice that is why. The oil doesn't need extra stuff added to it. Those additives, at best, will only make you spend more money. At worst, they'll accelerate engine wear as they'll counteract some of the oil additive package.

Turbos and higher compression motors can benefit from higher octane fuel. Our 2024 Mazda CX 5 has a naturally aspirated engine with a compression ratio of 14:1. That is higher than any naturally aspirated engine of this type. I definitely noticed a peppier response when I used 93 octane fuel, especially from 0-50. The gas mileage was slightly better overall, roughly an increase of 1-2 mpg combined. If your vehicle calls for 87 octane or higher as exhibited in your manual, you may receive a performance and/or an increased mileage benefit from 93 octane gas. It’s worth a try.
Hello everyone I have a 2017 golf R, my problem is sometimes when I push the starter button, some times the starter won't engage, the gauges will sweep but no start. I'll push the button again and it will start no problem. I'm worried that one day it may not start. Any ideas?

I just replaced my purge valve which was stuck open on my Volkswagen and my misfire condition went away. It was surging when I would put the clutch in and no one could figure out why. I can start my car the first time after filling the gas tank now too.
So I have a Mercedes and I used peak European blue coolant but I also have peak violet European coolant I put a little of violet with the blue coolant but not even a cup full way less should I be worried ?
My understanding was the move back to torque converters was due to the ability to handle high power over Dsg and they are much faster now. Also from the cost and reliability point. Most manufacturers don’t make them in-house and that saves a lot in R&D and quick to market.
My 2015 mk7 gti makes a very loud clacking sound. No codes on the dash. When accelerating the noise happens. When at idle sometimes it makes the noise. When revving the engine it idles rough before dying
