HERE IS MY ADDED THOUGHTS! It's a shame that the build from the VIP Beta is a very slightly updated Steam Demo and I want to remind that a lot of the issues from that demo have been dealt with. Check out the video link in the description so you can see the full dev diary covering the physics. I think free trial after this game launches is an easy way to gain back those who may have been put off from the demo! But rest assured, I think this game is heading in the right direction, let's hope I'm right! P.S I forgot to cover the added traffic in the new build I saw in France! Among so many other improvements I'm sure… ;)
@TheAlexVII My biggest issue is if Nacon gonna give us auto variants of certain cars give us the proper gears. The 370z auto is supposed to be a 7AT it's a 6AT they got it right in TDU2 The 2018 mustang GT is a 6AT instead of a 10 spd Your feedback carries more weight then ours if you can push these flaws to them it would be greatly appreciated
What about the performance on PC? Coming from a 9900KS and 3080Ti I found this game to run like trash at 4K, no matter how much i tinkered with the graphical settings.
I *bought* gold.. wasnt charged.. u wont be either they charge later on if u keep it.. u can cancel like i did 4 minutes after "driving" the lambo.. seeing the map lol games trash....
I really have faith in this game since they did work on the physics side a lot. Now I just have one more concern: The steering wheel angle animation. It should be at least >90 degree and I'm pretty sure they already worked on it so I'll just sit and wait.
This question was already asked thousands of time and there was an answer. Search for traxion gg interview with guillaume guinet, dates back from june 2024
Hey Alex. First of all, great video as always. Everything looks good and I'm all in on the game, but I have a few things that I want to share to you for you to ask the developers about. 1. I want them to improve the steering animations. I dont like that its at 30 degrees, they say they want to make the game immersive, but that steering ruins the immersion. I want the steering to be at 360 degrees. If not, 180 degrees at least. If they do that, itll make the game way more immersive, especially on the wheel. 2. I want custom number plates, that the players can customize, the colour and lettering/numbers. I want to customize them in the workshop and in the dealership. But if we can't do both, I just at least want it one or the other, Dealership OR Workshop. It would make it more rewarding and feel like buying and owning the car more special, that's the only extra customisation I want. 3. I also want a satnav built into the car interior screen, because like with the steering animations, it'll improve the immersion especially if players play the game with no hud. 4. This isn't essential, but add more variety indicator sounds. All of the indicators sound the same in every car. It doesnt have to be exactly like the car's indicator noises in the real life cars, I would just like a little bit of variety, especially from an older to newer car. 5: I know people say they want houses now, but I dont mind that they are coming at a later date for free, but what I want, is for them to deliver that promise of houses, even if the game doesn't do well, the fact that they promised us houses, they should at least add that in a update. It's also part of what makes TDU, TDU. Everything else looks really good and i'll be fully supporting the game. But could you ask those things to the developers please Alex? Cause I feel like not only are they my priorities, but a load of other people's aswell. If you can ask those 5 questions, that would be brilliant. Like I said, brilliant video as always 👍🏻
Question 1 I was going to ask whether some of TDUs core events DNA might be returning to the game, the new events feel a little samey to other titles. The events or races in question are as follows: Speed Runs - Pass the 6 speedtraps in an allotted time limit with other racers, fastest average speed wins Deliver my car - My car has to be serviced, can you take it for me Deliver a Passenger - I need a ride Manufacturer specific races - Just Porsche’s, Mercedes, Fords etc. Club C - C class cars only (TDU1 club event) V8 owners - Cars with V8s only (TDU1 club event) Muscle car club - Muscle cars only (TDU1 club event) Just for some examples
Alex, you have seriously been doing the lord’s work for KT. While I’m excited to see that the PC version is coming along nicely, I can only hope that the same is happening for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
For Nacon,KT mostly handle the development not the marketing. It's Nacon that does handle almost all the marketing but yeah thank god Alex is there but keep in mind Nacon actually gives him all of those clips and the right to share them with us
@@MrQuicheProductionsKT hasn’t uploaded on their channel in forever it’s ridiculous they need to upload to their RU-vid channel and promote it this is like Rockstar letting Take two interactive handle all of their promotion see how it doesn’t make sense whatsoever why because Take Two Interactive has hundreds of other games to promote like 2K, Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, WWE, Mafia, Bioshock, Borderlands and Max Payne. Three of the games I named are owned by Rockstar games and they do their own promotion whether it’s a huge post or small post most of the time small post but they post on their RU-vid regardless of how small it is to keep people informed. That’s all we are asking from KT to post something anything why make a RU-vid channel and never post anything on the channel. They have a RU-vidr basically doing all of their marketing for free and his channel is small so it’s not even reaching all of their large audience bad marketing can destroy your game especially when you’re a new game.
hearing you talking about how comparing a game to a PS3 or PS4 game to be an insult, a good point to what really ruins games... the reliance on high graphics and lack of gameplay...
Alex again saving KT with a video that makes the game look way more appealing than all the demos and teasers that they have done so far. It's criminal if they are not paying you for this.
A real, Free Demo is a must. I know the hardcore believers will defend the game to their last breath, but it will take more than that group to sustain the game. Your more rank and file casual gamers were/are turned off by the Betas they have released so far and they will need to showcase a FINISHED product to instill confidence in it.
I hope that the last beta will be the newer build to showcase the changes, but at this point I highly doubt. If not, then hopefully they will do free trial so people can decide if the game is worth buying. I miss the days of proper Demos
Seeing all of the tuning options makes me so happy. Thank you so much for sharing this info! This is huge and I hope people can see this and flock back from hate town.
One thing they need to put in the update/ dlc is buying properties/ garages around the map then and only then it will be a full on TDU experience as seemingly all the rest is there (even if map isn't as huge sadly)
This looks so freaking good imo. I'm excited about the game. The sense of speed in the Regera is amazing. From a WipEout player I really love that vibe you get from acceleration and speed in this build. Thanks for the video Alex!
The graphics for the original TDU were just "OK" for their day. It was the collection of cars, the exploration, and the multi-player, that made the game so memorable.
I think its more about the performance issues coming from the graphics. Oh and I believe that although the graphics are mostly good, theres some aspects where they look pretty bad, making them seem out of place. I would personally much rather take worse general graphics, which in turn come with good performance and an overall unity.
Question 4 - (Last one) Repeating sharps and streets reputation events because it gives you progress towards the clans and rewards for winning, where normal events give you less rewards and no clan progress. This needs to be balanced encouraging you to do all of the events instead of repeating the events that pay better.
Question to the Devs: Will the Tachometers have their own designs based on the current driven vehicle like in TDU 1 + 2? Is it planned to add this feature with an Update in the near future?
Do you think we'll get a later version of the game during the next beta between 27th-30th? As betas go, I'm still really impressed by this version. Very promising for the full game.
@TheAlexVII makes sense and I agree, if I'm completely honest. Playing this version has already made me uninstall Forza Horizon 4 & 5. Just the features and map has got me hooked. Definitely looking forward to launch and happy to see your quality content again! Kinda gutted about the region lock, so we probably won't meet in game at any point.
For me the PS5 demo is the first time that I am getting to play the game at all and I didn't really look at many videos of the game beforehand or at other people's opinions, so I could just try the game myself without any bias or expectations. And so far I am enjoying the game a lot. Already played the beta for 20 hours and didn't have many issues. The handling matches my taste pretty well and I also like the graphics. Not so happy to see the complicated car setups here at 0:18, as I prefer them to be more simple, so I can do leaderboard runs without having to tinker too much with my car. Been having a lot of fun with that in the beta. I guess in the full game going for the best times will be a lot more annoying then with so many car setup options. That's unfortunate. Definitely still gonna enjoy my playthrough of the game though.
Car setups also have simple versions, I showed it as you can choose between circuit, rain etc, or you can choose a simple default of each one, or you can fine tune further for more personal, so it’s something that can work for everyone if you know what I mean!
@@TheAlexVII Yeah but the simple setups probably won't be as fast as fully optimized ones and I am someone who likes to go for top leaderboard ranks (trying to set the fastest times in events) or do competitive PvP, where having the best possible setup is important. As a casual player you can of course just ignore the complicated setups and still have a good time but as a competitive player that's not possible. As a competitive player if complex setups exist in a game you either have to figure them out or you will be at a disadvantage. That's why personally I prefer it when games don't have them. Of course there is also a different type of player that loves tinkering and fully customizing the setup, so I understand why the option is there. It's just unfortunate for the competitive players. We will try to make the best of it though.
When i played the beta i could see the vision, the features is what intially grabbed me as a hardcore forza player i hate much we lack the little intricate details such as drive modes with different exhaust sounds,windows/headlight control this game is a breathe of fresh air but what also had me worried was the graphics wasnt looking all that amazing in the beta but now i've seen this WIP different to the beta version im have faith for sure now
Would be great if they add the original way of opening doors & the roof in the garage (with the arrow pad) instead of walking towards every door (just the small details)
Question for developer interview: Can you ask them if it is possible too have different convertible roof colours when you buy a new car? Sorry for my English, i hope i said it correctly. Also Alex, thanks for the updates and new clips. It looks really nice in the clips you showed so far.
Great video @TheAlexVII ! The Koenigsegg spoiler bug is on the Agera RS in the garage too. The spoiler is tilted backwards which the car only does to reduce drag in top speed. Also the Regera wing goes waaaay to high up compared to IRL. Just some feedback from a Koenigsegg nerd lol
@@RB-H yeah. I admit, you have to pixel peep a bit on highest resolution. But you can clearly see the left hand go over the right side. Alex hides this information a bit. There is no scene of the new game in interior view with sharper steering, he always switch to exterior view or view with no wheel
@@denny9934 Oh yes, I think I see it. Hopefully it's true, because the current animation isn't the best at all. I have also noticed almost all of the footage we have gotten shows the external view of the car too
Question 2 Whilst playing the beta is there a plan for returning characters or a story line, pushing you to achieve that goal, winner of the Solar Crown. The current demo doesn't feel like its pushing you to this end game.
Question 3 Why are the vehicles locked behind levels, am I going to have to repeat events until I'm high enough level wise to buy my first veyron? I have $3,000,000 credits but I'm only level 25 time to grind levels until level 40. TDU1 and TDU2 didn't have level lock walls? A soon as you bought a higher class vehicle those events unlocked.
Best man! Love that you give such a great support and that you try to make people remember to be somehow logical and fair. This is something the world misses much too much in our times. Stay upright and positive and the nice guy you are already, keep on the good work and have fun at the gamescon then 🙂 Peace and Love, Peer
I would add sound of wind while being in first person camera in car. Also, more cars like peugeot, lexus, honda, Hyundai , opel, dacia etc. Not only aport car
6:10 I feel like the pops should be a slider in the menu where you can increase the frequency of it if you like. I think it's cool they had it and it sounded and looked cool, but obviously it can get annoying especially depending on what car you're driving. Should be something you can tune imo.
QUESTION: Will we have more leniency with driving in water? In the game demo, my car would reset as soon as it touched water. I'd like to go off roading and drive a truck in a little deeper water before I get reset or let me choose when to reset.
One thing that really bugs me is the exhaust backfire is just too generic, basic sound for all the cars just sounds like gunshots. None of them have like real flame notes to them. IRL you get that fluctuating air sound and flame flapping sounds when high rpm letting off or pressing in clutch, thats what they need to add.
We need houses to be back in TDU....not a big hotel...they were a game changer for TDU....a main part of the game... And maybe add a personalized takimeter for every model of car, such as it was TDU2...
This Is a Great Video to show us the differences from the Demo Build and Real Updated version - Excellent| I want That Porsche WOW! You should do some Seperate Sound only Videos of each of the New Cars You Have shown us as well! Great Work Alex!
it was time for tdu to finally come back!!!a game for car enthusiasts not only focused on racing there are the details, options and vehicle management but also on the lifestyle that revolves around it... much more details and finally a realistic feeling of speed when you can cruse and realy feel the power of the car not like forza when with a class A car that has 300, 400, 500 hp you have to pump everything up so as not to feel like you're driving at 50 km/h when you're at 250. the only negative point is that there is only one place to live whereas in the previous ones you collected houses you customized the interior etc... I really hope they fix it
All the changes made to the game have really filled me with hope. Now all i really want is for them to flesh out the paint booth to allow us to group and share layers so we can create sponsors and liveries
Question for dev: Can they please make the mercedes AMG sounds more realistic like the g-wagon because it dont sounds like a real V8 sadly and if they can make the ferrari 812 superfast a little bit louder more scream!
The only thing I care about is that it is not “always online”. They can make any game they want, they can make the best one in the world. I won't buy if it's "always online".
@@damiandarnay4852 for me this game destroys Forza with NFS. Cry. In Forza there are only deserts and a Lamborghini drives through the fields at a speed of 300+, thank you, I’m not interested in that. Not to mention that there is no interest in playing because they give you everything as if you came in with cheats. I’m generally silent about NFS, the game is on a shooter engine. And so, the meaning of the phrase was different.
First of all, Alex, thanks for all the In-depth videos and reassurances !🫡 Questions for Development Team: 1. Any chance for a map expansions? Northern part of the Hong Kong City🙏🏻 (for those who’s not familiar w hk, Hong Kong island is the southern part of HK city) 2. If it’s possible. Will they consider either Northern HK areas or bring back both Ibiza and Oahu island?🙏🏻 (If they do Ibiza, pls just at least create the highway to the HK airport and the airport itself for immersion sake but need not to make city areas around it) 3. Can they simply make a clock somewhere just to show the time of the day. 4. Will they have more things for the avatar to do around the city, and not make it all-things-done-in-one station/hotel like the current direction 🙏🏻 Again thanks the dev team for their hard work.
I would have rathered no console demo and have allowed players to go based off your past video about the WIP build when you were in France, I don't understand what made them think that less than a month away giving us a massive different product is a good idea.
@@TheAlexVII I understand that, but the PAID beta part bugs me and every other person who expected a bit more. Not even base game, but Gold purchasers only.
@Ekouhz this beta was available if you purchased the silver version too. I believe this beta was also strictly to test the servers and the servers are almost perfect. The only issue with the servers, for me, is loading into the game with friends and you just need to load into a social space then leave at the same time for it to work, bit once you're in, there's no issues with desync or lag or anything. I'm happy with what they've done thus far.
@@LordJobby that’s awesome & thanks for the correction, I’m not debunking the game at all! I’m just as stoked as the next person for it, just baffled at the beta release version. It is what it is, just figured I’d share how I felt.
Very impressive video, i’m just can’t wait to play actual version of TDU SC) And the one thing i hope, is that Casino will be in free update, because it’s a big part of the game and has been advertised whole time in first trailers. Fingers crossed)
All I know is the console open Beta better not be another old build. That play test will basically make or break the game. I don’t care about no other builds except the last beta test for everyone that build better be a newer build. Regardless I’ve already seen enough from your build that you played to finally get me off GTA online for my main open world car game. I finally have a game I can use my PS5 for this will be the most I’ve played my PS5 since it released. I’ve been playing my PS4 way more than my PS5 now I can finally make the switch.
Some good improvements but I see there's still some work to do on drivetrains in particular the mustang clip where at times the rpm seemed almost disconnected from the wheel speed. Then for the opposite reason with the Regera where at low speeds yes the rpm should be very disconnected from the wheel speed as its a torque converter that doesn't lock until around 5000rpm @210kph so it picks up straight to around 5k when you floor it and basically just sits there until you hit 210 where it continues as a normal acceleration would.
Question to the devs: Will the FFB be improved upon, and maybe more similar to the feel of WRC 10 at launch? It’s not bad or anything, just a bit lacking. And will there be automatic wheel rotation change when swapping to a car with less rotation or vice versa? Or a soft lock function to the FFB settings would also do the job.
they really need to change lights on the buildings, if done right I believe it can make some huge difference. I mean make it more randomized as it seems to be controlled by program, and make it LESS BLUE!! Also, I think in photo mode with zoom you can see there’s interior behind EVERY building window, they can definitely lower the transparency of the windows to make those sometimes visible. All above I think doesn’t really take much work nor bring (any) more rendering burden, but at the same time I guess they are not really aware of this so very possibly not to be seen in the release. Well for that I hope for Reshade Support so we can fix some parts ourselves.
Great work Alex, Keep it up. I have more hopes for the game now, it looks to be better in the newer versions. Can't wait for the Ibiza DLC later down the road! ;)
I hope they add visual upgrades and customization options. Seintero has an exposed engine, but when purchasing the turbo, I don't see a turbo on the engine.
Hey, Alex um, been playing the PS5 demo for the last 2 days. Absolutely. Love the game after seeing your video. Are with the current build of the physics? It just makes me more excited for the fifth of september
Just to make sure since i noticed this in every clip you showed, the traffic is fixed right? No more crazy taxis everywhere flipping and driving all over the place
The game already looks amazing but I hope there is an easier way of earning money after the races in the story if there is a story mode of course. Felt it was difficult to earn money on TDU2 after u had done the story mode tbh
Gamescom question. Will the cutscenes of walking in and out of building's, you driving in and out of your garage as seen in previous games. We do have the cutscene when buying a car but pretty much everything else that gave TDU that "life" is missing. Thanks
I’m just curious why Nacon’s architect Life is so quiet 👀 And will we have the ability to sell cars whether in tdu2 trade in fashion, or through a “market place”?
Alex as per usual with the teasing 😭 this game been on my steam cart for weeks now, also love the new graphic bumps, they manage to optimized + increase the fidelity, can't be mad at that
Roads are constantly wet, the camera movement makes me feel motion sick, cars feel really heavy. And the Alpine’s exhaust when changing gear is jarring. Other than that it’s pretty good
My question for the next interview you'll have is , can we change the fov on the cockpit and position of head even like WRC series ? can't wait for the game to be launched
Hi Alex I have an important question to ask you: will the steering wheel animations be changed or improved because currently it's literally horrible for me it's a big negative point of the game
How can people complain about the exhaust sounds , too many forza players wanting bland boring car sounds . If anything certain cars shouldn’t have that exhaust pop/bang sound, but like on jdm cars and hyper cars most definitely need tons of excessive pops. Plus me personally tdu also needs more traffic on the highways is a must, drift tires and suspension. Honestly those are my only criticisms , everything else I love
Thank you for restoring my faith in TDUSC, Alex. This will be my ultimate benchmark game for the future, and I think that the strategy they're doing, is going to make explosive amounts of hype when Gamescom arrives. Let's keep it hush for now folks, they're in for a huge treat. :)
Questions for the TDU developers: 1. Will we have body kits for cars/some cars and a lot more aftermarket wheels (BBS, Vossen, Work, HRE etc)? 2. Will we have cops? 3. Houses are 100% confirmed? Keep up the good work man! ✌️❤️
How could you tease me with that f-type clip at the end like that! Haha game looks great. Hope the info you can share later is about the casino or houses
So, "VIPs" for them are people who aren't their paying customers. Let's give the paying customer an old build to test, but for these people who don't even need to buy it, let them test a more up-to-date version.
no one has an up to date version, this is a build I tried while in France, it's an in-house dev build, which also means they can't use that to showcase the game for the VIP Beta.
Hi Alex, I have one question for the developers. In the future, will there be an update similar to TDU2? Except from the clans, I mean a story progression like TDU2. Because in the steam demo, we did races like Forza Horizon progression.
