My favorite memory with this game was the end of a Cveta + Anton play through. I dont remember how, but everyone else died leaving Cveta alone. Being winter as well, she got terminally ill, with no meds in sight. So every day and every night, she slept until her eventual demise .... And then the war ended. She was saved. I cant put into words how amazing it felt. I had somehow beaten the odds by dumb luck! This game truly is amazing

My tip: ALWAYS GO TO THE MILITARY BASE! You don't even need to kill the soldiers there in order to cheat the system and steal the loot. First when you enter the military base from the right side of the map you will be presented with a gate guard and a sentry guard standing in the tower above him. You need one item. A "lockpick" then you run up to the gate guard, and tap on the trade icon and exit the trade icon to end the trading. He will then proceed to quote with the line of "Next time bring some booze citizen!" afterward another guard walk up to the gate guard. The two of them will proceed on back leaving you the chance to climb the tower ladder. Wait until both guards return to their post and walk off the ledge behind the gate. Afterward you will need to go into the gate guard room and loot the cabinet with the pick lock I mention earlier. Then go into the military base itself and hide behind the corridor doors. Wait until the patrolling guard that speaks with the gate guard to proceed and exit. (There may be another guard patrolling in the area "Make sure that this guard does not see you or else you are automatically dead") What we are looting is the stash of crates and boxes beneath the stair case. Once you got tons of guns, ammo, food, and medical supply. RUN out from where you came from. The gate guard and the patrolling guard that goes back and forth from the gate will not attack you. Instead they will only warn you not to do that again. Make sure you run back home as you are done looting. Note: the loot in the military base is very useful in trading for other supplies since you don't need more then one gun at your home base to defend yourself. Also you can come back every 7 days after looting the military to constantly get the same loot because they respawn within 7 days which mean endless loot hole for trading for other useful supplies during winter as well. You will also need to be careful when climbing the ladder at the sentry post and make sure you aren't in sprint mode after climbing the ladder because you can make noise and draw the sentry attention. There is a glitch that forces the gate guard to run back and forth through the patrolling gate guard. So best wait out. The inner patrolling base guard will make a cycle round the base. Do not run to the stair case when he is present he may walk down the stairs to investigate in which case you are done for. Killing all the military soldier is also optional, but you will never be able to run back to the military base and get new loot after looting the entire area, and your survivors get a mood debuff which can negatively affect your survivor mental state and they can goes into a state of depression after killing multiple people within a numbers of days. I have been going to the military base every time I get a chance to loot all their guns, ammo, food and supplies and trade it back for stuff like component and wood. Every 7 days and you get 1-4 guns, 10-30 ammo, 2-7 cans of food, 1-3 bandage/pills, and a bunch of weapon parts to trade is a steal in my case. That how I beat the level with Cveta and Anton and manage to survive with no casualty.

For anyone watching this; A tip I learned is to stay at home on night 3; that is typically when the first raid happens, and then they won’t show up for a certain amount of days :) So scavenge as much as you can on night 1 and 2, then guard on night 3. Trust me, it helps to know that. Gives you an extra boost

This game needs an in-game tutorial/introduction to base mechanics.

Problem is, the ammo used to defend your home is worth more than the items they take in a raid.

I bought the game with all the dlc last night, started playing today and all my characters are now dead. Also the game made me depressed.

once u're using the sawblade to open some gate , press the backpack icon and drop the sawblade . once dropped, wait for like 15 Seconds and the gate is open and u can still pickup ur sawblade and reuse it

My third attempt in the game really went smoothly (currently at day 11 my 2nd full experience of Crime Outbreak event) because of these tips, also reading the tips in the comment section. This war of mine has a deep learning curve let me share some tips 1 don't grab gunpowder or shell casings in the beginning of the game because they don't have a use except for trading in the beginning of the game 2 get a stove as quick as possible because you can cook food and cooked food gets rid of one level of hunger like the caned food but more abundant 3 trade away your extra firearms I mean what's the point of having 7 shotguns come on 4 use characters traits to your advantage for example Bruno is a good cook he saves water and fuel so have him cook all the time that's all thanks for reading my comment I hope this helps out any new players

13:35 lemme correct that , to get a survivor from normal to hungry it takes 1 day. To go from hungry to very hungry it takes 2 days of being hungry. The same for very hungry into starvation Rule of thumb : Optimally feed your survivors after they've been hungry 1 day, because cooked food and canned food "heal" up hunger till the previrous level no matter what , so don't eat the day your survivor is hungry and just wait another day. If you really have no food , then feed them the second day of VERY HUNGRY but keep in mind being very hungry decreases your speed which can matter a for your scavenger when its visiting sniper junction

ive had this game for a couple of years now and have around 400-500 hours on it. i mainly bought it because of the devolopers helping ''war victims'' in need. same as for the dlc ''the little ones''

Even though melee combat is random, different characters will have different chances of dealing more damage and landing hits, Roman being the best and Cveta being the absolute worst, this applies to opponents as well, different weapons will also increase the chances for both parties. You can quickly tell by looking at the attack icon, characters full attack icon will do better than characters with partially filled attack icons

I almost killed everyone in my shelter for placing a heater when it was 22 degrees Celsius because I thought it was in Fahrenheit *(being an American 101)*

I am surprised he didn't go over that you can place items in a Scavenge slot; When I go to a location that I know I'll probably go multiple times, I take all the items and place it into the first lootable slot, then after it is all done. I know 100% what is there and what is not. Helps me Keep Track and Save Time.

I wish i had watched this before my first dozen playthroughs but i didnt. That being said, i agree with all of your early game tips. Minus one bed is exactly correct. Youre gonna rotate sleep schedules anyway. Scavenger and night guard sleep while #3 does daily chores. I wasted a lot of resources before i figured out that the first 3 levels of hunger/mood dont really matter.

I personally feed every 2 days instead of 3. I just prefer seeing an empty trait bar or only good traits and it keeps me on my toes and forces me to do a scavenge material day and then a food supply run. its a good flow when it works but I'll try the 3 day and see if it really changes much at all.

Mid 2021 and this video is the best tutorial for new players like myself, absolutely recommended!

I've played this game a lot on release and final cut edition so here are some things I've found useful: 1) Only feed your survivors on odd numbered days 1/3/5 etc, this keeps them fully satiated and they'll never be hungry, also maybe bad RNG but when I did let the get to hungry / very hungry they got sick more but maybe I just had bad luck. 2) On day one obviously scavenge your whole base with two survivors have the third build first a metal workshop and then the shovel and then a crowbar, do not use lockpicks as you can trade them. 3) Your build order will change as on final cut it can sometimes start in winter / cold event or crime event. Always build two beds for 3 survivors or 3 beds for 4 survivors, you don't need to build a stove until day 3 at the latest. scavenge

Just a tip. In this war of mine you can return to a previous day when let's say my scavenger died. Just close the game before the game loads the new day. This will restart the day you went scavenging which means if you ate before leaving the shelter when you reactivate the the game you will have to eat again. And the poor thing soul that died because of you will be totally fine 😊

I picked this up for 1.97€ on Switch, the complete/special edition one. Never heard of it before but I usually get super discounted games and at the worst I get a few hours out of them...this looks incredible and seems to have a complex and deep game loop. TIP:If you help anyone in need of supplies it will get rid of sadness. What happend to me is all the people (in game) were sad and then there were 2 children saying that there mother was sick and the father is in war. They asked for some pills and i gave it to them. When they did they were happy and left. I checked on the people (in game) and all of them were not sad. They were sad because I robbed the homeless at the school. So if you rob people and you want your people to stop being sad then help people and they wont be sad (in game).

On an old version TWoM, there glitch I found on mobile is that if Marko (The firefighter) have helmet and vest equipped with a weapon will make him instakill anyone that he shoots but I think it is now patched.

Some "cheating" tips you can do: The game saves at the start of the day. When you get wounded during scavenging, just quickly quit or leave the game. Also helps when you get killed and quickly quit before the night ends. You can also quit in the morning if someone gets sick and reload the game and that person might not get sick in a reload. The military base is most profitable since it restock items when you do not kill the soldiers. Simply talk to the trader and exit. Wait till he leaves and closes the door. Climb up the ladder and "walk" to the sandbags and do not alert the guard in the tower. Wait till the second soldier between the buildings leaves and you see him walk to the second building. Climb down and go to the second building and hide. Wait till the second soldier does his routine and walks past you. In the building there's some good loot beneath the staircase. There is third soldier in the building and you should wait till he leaves because he will open fire. After looting the staircase quickly run to your hiding spot (because the second soldier might be on his way back). When he past you and enters the building you can run towards the first building and there's another great loot in the cabinet. You can just run to the exit since the first and second soldier will not shoot you (except for the third). The first time you enter the military base you need 1 lockpick to open the cabinet and it remains open after that. Alerting the guard in the tower will end it for good and the guard will always notice you climb the ladder in every other scavenge run. A shovel is pretty pointless, maybe except for the church. Grab all items and stock them in a pile close to the exit and on your way home decide which items you take.

The easiest way to survive is to send someone with a knife to hit the airport or military outpost. Get an AK47 and ammos early on for raiding other locations and defending your shelter is critical.

Send out the same scavenger, night after night... As soon as your scavenger returns home, put them to sleep. They'll wake up in the afternoon, well-rested and ready to go, (unless they are sick/injured). Do the same thing with your 'guard' to keep them from getting exhausted. So yes, sometimes having a bed for each member of the team is helpful

I will state, there is another State for hunger, though it doesn't make a big difference, it's called "still hungry" From what i can tell, it occurs when you eat a raw food item with the Hungry status. since its before the second half, there are still no drawbacks, and its also a really bad idea because that's 1 normal meal you just wasted to still be hungry.

Thanks, I played a bit but it seems that I have made many mistakes. I didn't know that you could use crowbars instead of lockpicks, I thought you used them on separate places. Good to know that it doesn't matter where the heater are place. I have worried about that, trying to place it near the beds which has been rather tricky.

Tip: Survivors can sleep during the day, if you allow them to lay in bed they’ll get up by themselves after a couple hours fully rested. This way you’ll always have someone guarding and another scavenging.

i know i'm super late but i just wanted to share there's another mood called "content" You get this by feeding your survivors every 2 days. I always feed them on even days. 2-4-6-8... and they have a "content" mood which makes them faster and with a positive attitude. if You feed them at "very hungry" nothing Bad Will happen but you'll never have them "content" and you'll have to feed them every 2 days as well
