Maybe someone already pointed it out but the fun fact about this game is that it's made by Polish team and for a few years now it was granted a "schoolbook" status in Polish schools, meaning it can be used to teach teenagers about the war. It's optional, as most of this stuff is taught by reading books anyway, but it's nice to know that maybe some teachers will choose it as a way to present to students the hard truth about war. I personaly believe that it's way more effective method.
I’ll never forget giving a homeless man food and than he showed me where some valuables were. Came back another time to clean the rest up and he said “wow look at the meds I found!” I needed meds at the time killed him and he had nothing… I’m sorry bro
First, I send combat skilled character to the looting site to eliminate bandits and thugs take only essential items like food and valuable for trades. Next turn, I send in skilled scavenger to gather remaining resource. Then send someone with bargaining skill to the military camp for trade later. Great success!
I remember playing this before the Final Cut and I was rather disappointed in it. Now that I tried it again, I can’t stop playing it. Very intricate resource and personnel management, severe risk for no guarantees of a high gain. Truly a masterpiece. I tried Frost Punk made by the same team… it might need some work.
This was my experience with this war of mine and frostpunk I thought it was hard and confusing so I just gave up then I came back to frostpunk and now it's my favorite city builder with a sequel just over the horizon, I downloaded the final cut last night and it's so fun im on day 17 or 18 rn.
When I saw Zlata fighting, it brought back bad memories. (Each character have different stats in combat, she's one of the weakest in combat) Other than that, thanks for the tips about the characters, I didn't know the specifications about each of their abilities.
Fun facts from a years long player; 1.On critical start when the robbery is high *DONT* loot all of supplies from your base but only loot materials to build stuffs, why? because if you did not loot them the game wont count it as your items so the theif can't rob you if you got nothing to rob lol 2. Focus on upgrading your crafting station first, by doing that just go and loot materials (woods, scrapes) on first night because your characters can stay hungry for 2 days, you can choose to upgrade cooking station too for less resources requires for cooking. 3. Read the description of the location you want to go first since the same place can have different situation (hostile, friendly, threat of sniper etc,).
Support people playing this game.. I have yet to see any other game bring me the sorrow and sadness that war casts upon people who can’t or won’t fight..
I love this game, especially It’s aesthetics, which are simple but detailed, as well as the gameplay. It’s really freakin’ gloomy and very disheartening but that’s what this game is supposed to make players feel. Honestly, sometimes games don’t have to be like the kardashians-over processed and over worked. There’s merit and appreciation for simplicity. I definitely recommend this game and the dlc.
I just got pavle killed because I clicked on stealth kill and the enemy walked out of range slightly and then pavle ran out got spotted and then got 1 shot by a shotgun. Ended 15 day run pretty quick.
You DON’T defend your base though 🤔 there is NO option to see the people who attack your base and even try to stop them , it all happens off screen, personally I think this is a big missed opportunity as I’d like to be able to try and stop people who attack, also you DON’T need to ALWAYS have someone guarding, all you need to do is upgrade the door and it says that even if a big group attacks while your asleep you WILL still hear them and beat the attack
If you have Katia a good late game win condition is tobacco. You can make tons of cigarettes and sell them to Franko for the things you actually want. This strategy works well for beginners cause you don’t have to learn craft loops for alcohol/meds or food even. Just collect and sell cigarettes sometimes it works so well you can even buy Frankos tobacco and sell back to him later and keep coming out ahead.
I was able yesterday as a new player to the game to defend myself with a knife against a dude with an assault rifle and my dude goes and becomes depressed? Not that i can´t understand it and appreciate the game since i do but come on, he wished it was him instead? On top of that a door i lock picked got locked again while i was inside so i was trapped! Found a tunnel to explore and all, one of the cooler places to explore.
you can't. You're stuck with what you have. Wish we have that option though. I guess it made the game a bit unrealistic, so the developers didn't implement it.
Played this back in the days just now started it again and second time this game feels soo easy bruh within 2 hours without getting any of my player killed or depressed i managed to upgrade everything in the house fully i literally have 28 meal cooked sitting there just 25th day and 15 veggie and 18 meat and 8 cann food i don't even need to go out anymore i can just skip and reach the end of the war 😂
I just bought this war of mine for steam and its not starting, any way to fix it I've tried reinstalling, restarting my pc and verifying the integrity of the game files
I never forget running into a house and finding a family pleading with me not to rob them and I felt that bad for them that I killed them so they wouldn’t be upset 😃

That whole Mood System is what destroys the Game for me. I mean what sense does it make when your survivor gets depressed because hes trying to survive??? Thats utter Bullshit
Honestly the fact that they become "broken" and then do absolutely nothing is the dumbest mechanic in the entire game. Being ultra depressed doesn't stop you from functioning unless you have some severe mental issues. Gonna mod that out so I can enjoy the damn game. Everybody in this situation is sad and "broken," you still survive or humans probably wouldn't exist as we do right now.
@traceurs619 as I said if humans always did that we wouldn't be where we are now and you have no idea what I or the others around me have gone through to know that. Piss off. You don't lose all survival instincts because you're sad. It would more accurate if one out of ten survivors became broken because that's what actually happens. Nobody asked you. Sorry you're triggered but nobody cares.
