The NHL playoffs are BACK in Vancouver and in a big way! After what was a truly remarkable turnaround year for the Canucks and after 9 years of pent up energy, their fans absolutely brought it for game 1 in what was a heck of a hockey game. This one had it all, the physicality you’d expect in the playoffs from 2 of the highest hitting teams in the NHL, huge saves from Demko and Saros on both ends and a 3rd period blitz of goals from Suter and Joshua that broke a Canucks franchise Playoff record. Yeah, it was special… I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

Man the energy was electric in Rogers arena. When Joshua scored it peaked at 115db. It’s probably the loudest that it’s been in a decade or more. Incredible feeling.

Preds fan here. Drago Zadorov is an absolute unit. When we tried to check him that mf didnt even move. GG's nucks fans! Incredible first game. Stoked for game 2!

I was chatting with a Preds fan after the game and both of us agreed this is going to be a fantastic series! Neither team expected to make the playoffs, we've got Hughes, they've got Josi. Good physicality in the plays. Some great hockey to watch!

This brought back memories of the Sedin days. I was a kid then, but I remember being in the arena and watching the team skate out to Where the Streets Have No Name. Absolutely electric.

Honestly don't think playing where the streets have no name is a shot against the Preds, Canucks have used that song 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 and maybe 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2020

Honestly, it could have been a low key jab to Preds. I would believe it. Canucks organization have been. A bit cheeky recently. Did you see the Canucks X account post the "Morning touches in Peg City" before the game in Winnipeg. That was obviously an intentional innuendo

That Joshua goal in the 3rd was confounding. I was on break at work watching the game. After the 2-2 tying goal I looked down at my phone to message a friend. I remember thinking, “Wow. They are still showing replays of the goal? Seems a bit excessive.” That’s how fast they scored those 2 goals. Sending a text message made me think that Joshua’s goal was just a replay on the broadcast! 🤣🤣🤣

It was an awesome game. I've saying to people that Garland will be our "secret weapon" in the playoffs, but I'm thinking, now, that it will be Garland and Joshua. I've been a 'Nucks fan since I was introduced to hockey as a tiny lad back in the very early 80's. I'm so psyched this year. Go Canucks Go!

Actually Sportsnet screwed up when announcing the previous record for quickest two Canucks playoff goals. Last night they said the previous record was 17 seconds set in the '95 series against the Blues. Early today, the local media clarified the actual previous record was 15 seconds set during game six of the '89 series against the Flames.

@@nextmanupNMU No problem, blame Sportsnet. In fact it turned out that 17 second record that Sportsnet used is now 4th. There were also two separate times that the Canucks scored playoff goals only 16 seconds apart.

They may be a wild card team but they also had the fourth best record (21-7-3) in the entire NHL since the All Star Break. Canucks can't take them lightly.

Canucks shouldnhave challenged that Preds goal. Guy skates through the crease and pokes Demko's glove just as the shot goes by on his glove side. Toronto should have reviewed it either way and called goalie interference. Total BS goal.
