The song is about her now husband who saved her from a really bad place in her life and a toxic relationship with the bands cofounder and guitarist (blonde guy). The male voice was only featured on this one sing since their record label made them do it. Amy sings alone and even provides her own backing vocals most of the time. She gives me goosebumps and projects feeling like no other.

You can’t do Evanescence without doing My Immortal, You don’t call me when you’re sober, and the duet that Amy did with Seether called Broken. Amy Lee has some of the best vocals of anyone who steps to a mic. If her voice doesn’t give you the chills you have no pulse.

I would love to see more Evanescence reacts! They got me into rock as a kid but I have loved their stuff since. Please look at My Immortal (the music video), Call Me When You’re Sober, Everybody’s Fool (socio-commentary)... I love so much of their stuff so I’d recommend so much but. I also want to have y’all look into other female rock bands. My fave band (very versatile so this is just popular faves): Halestorm. Familiar Taste of Poison - much softer than their usual stuff. I Get Off - their original single, still great Amen - an anthem! And I never see anyone react to it They do so many good covers too...... Also look into the female rock bands Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Within Temptation (they’re more symphonic rock, but man......). Also Pretty Reckless and In This Moment and Straight Line Stitch (African American female fronted rock band - look at ‘Conversion’). Rock isn’t a bunch of dudes, bring the women in!!!

Awesome reaction Amy's voice is outstanding. Another group that you guys will like is Lacuna Coil the lead singers voice is mesmerizing check out their song "Unspoken" I love the way that they adapt to the era they are in this is more in Evanescence style but they have a huge rabbit hole you will be amazed.

The "creepy clown faces" is actually my favorite visual piece of the video, the girl has a smiling clown mask, and then she lifts it and you can see she's crying. In those two split seconds, so much is said, about how people wear happy masks to hide the pain from others, to the point where it's so unnatural it's almost clownish. It's too bad it often goes unnoticed, it's such a powerful metaphor.
