The song was written by Chris DeGarmo. He's the man playing the guitar, he wrote this song one night after conforting one of his children who had a nightmare. In essence the song is written as a lullaby. It is a beautiful song with a sweet back story to it.

This song is a GODWINK. I have leukemia, take chemo daily, and I have lucid dreams very often. No one including my wife, can never understand it. I think God is preparing me for death, in his own way. It’s scares me sometimes, but I’ve found I’m able to control my own dreams. So I determine the outcome. When I meet him, God can let me know if that was his intention.

As a child, I had no one to protect me. I loved this song. It seemed like what nurturing should be. Fast forward to today, and I watched my son dancing in bubbles while playing with friends. I have been able to raise him, protect him, nurture him, and yes... calm his fearful mind while he sleeps. He will never know what I went through. I realized today that I had succeeded when I saw his smile.

@@SarahDengler This is the third video of yours that I have watched tonight. The joy and heartfelt emotion you exuded has made me a subscriber. Queensryche is one of my all-time favorite bands and Geoff Tate is one of the most uniquely talented singers there has ever been, as far as I'm concerned. I saw them in 91' and it was the best concert, hands down, that I've ever been to. It was otherworldly. I got to see this song performed live and it was magical. Geoff Tate's voice is something really special. He is just as good live and his voice is insanely powerful. The band is also phenomenal live. He isn't with them anymore, but both the band and him are doing their own US tours this year. My friend and I are going to at least go see Geoff Tate.

Queensryche are doing an American tour this year. I haven't seen them with their "new" singer, but I got to see them with Geoff Tate in 91' on their Building Empires tour. That concert was hands down the best show I've ever gotten to go to, by miles. Tate is doing his own tour this year, as well, performing songs from The Warning and Operation: Mindcrime. My friend and I are going to at least go see him. His voice and presence are otherworldly.

the album name is pretty funny, since actually some of the songs in it, including silent lucidity actually include things that are illegal in multiple countries including usa. since silent lucidity is one of those multilayered songs, but the main point is that in one of those layers they quite directly talk about some info which actually is one of those things people are forbidden to talk about by most states.
@just_a_dragon
@just_a_dragon 11 месяцев назад
@@mermaid_at_heart213 cool, also remember your dreams and know this one thing. whatever it is you desire most actually is quite much more possible than most even dare to dream. reality itself works just like a lucid dream, and so can be controlled in a similar way. if you understand and control that already then soon you should be safe. if you don't understand or see that yet, try to see the magic and become it, also soon you will see as soon something big will happen as dragons return to help the world. since you are a mermaid, that might be interesting for you to know, since then you no longer need to hide, as well as won't be suppressed anymore. I know of the struggles right now and many of the reasons and fears that cause most to try to hide and even suppress themselves to try and remain hidden. but soon those struggles will be over. also in any case learning real magic(not as in spells or rituals or such, but just using your mind and will to create whatever change in "reality" you feel like) might be useful as well anyway, I don't know what you already know and can do, you likely wouldn't talk about the extend fully either. but I know many mermaid are very talented in seeing people's thoughts and memories, I don't know how to explain it other than the feeling when doing it. but you kind of just take their head typically, even though that might differ for some, they will often first try to move away/out since they notice something is going on, also it works best if you first take away their means of harming you and make it so that they see themselves as needing to get away from you or just incapable of harming you might also work, even though that just makes it more easy. the getting into their minds is mostly on feeling but for some it is just like some kind of waving in both vision and feeling kind of like a stereotypical flashback like thing(like how that looks in movies kind of) until you eventually get more and more into their mind. once you are in you can experience everything directly from their point of view and even their feelings. you can see their memories and everything, this can be useful and it can be fun. outsource in normal scenarios with other more similar beings it is better to directly communicate a lot with feelings and let your feelings and all be truly open. some other things also come naturally, but this one is one that actually comes quite naturally to many yet which many do not know about. when learning such things however for some it might be hard but continue anyway, at some point often something happens like some danger or such or something you need to get out of into to for example save someone or something, in such cases your magic things will often suddenly work. ofcource changing the physical world itself can also be useful, but for some that might be hard to comprehend in case they might not yet know about real magic. also in case you are strong enough how about you help me train people as well as protect people and eventually free this world, not in all cases people need to know for sure that you are the real deal.

I respect your post. But to put ANY QUEENSRYCHE Up against, 1st, Pink Floyd & 2nd, Dark side of the moon is a HUGE stretch. Dark side, I think is probably still on the charts? I know they were for 20-30 yrs. IMO they shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as Floyd. 🤷‍♂️ sorry.

Whether you interpret it as a song about a parent watching over a child having a nightmare, or a slightly more supernatural take of a deceased father promising to watch over a child from the other side, it's a very powerful song that really tugs at the heartstrings. It's definitely different from a lot of Queensryche's harder rock offerings, but still probably my favorite from their library.

I was 8 when this came out. It blew my mind that there were songs that existed that can take you away. Just sit in the dark, and float off. I absolutely love that. It's the closest thing to meditation that I've been able to achieve. Bands like Pink Floyd, and Tool are amazing at achieving that state in the listener too. I very much understand the feeling you talk about. I'm glad you enjoyed this 😊.

I was there when Queensryche broke. They came along just in the nick of time as hair metal was getting really old. This group was WAY beyond their time. I would say more than any other group. There are the incredible guitars of Wilton and DeGarmo and that amazing voice of Geoff's. They made you think. They made you cry. They made you assertive. When you go through their entire catalog, then you can only begin to scratch the surface of this enigma. They were smart, they were cool and they always brought us along for the ride. When Geoff left, it broke my heart. This young lady is getting the same effect that I had, from this group many years before she was born. I love that. It's so cool to see young people digging into what was real. I'm sixty now and I have been treated to everything from the Crooners all the way to Greta Van Fleet. I'm a lucky SOB.

The new song is "Lightning Crashes" by a group called Live. The reminder is "Friends of Mr. Cairo" by Jon and Vangelis (Jon being Jon Anderson of Yes) - but please find a version with the lyrics because there are a lot of them and it is easy to get lost without!!
