Great interview, allowing him to tell the entire story of the journey to the point of making this watch without interrupting him. Fabulous photography, as you always do ! 👍
GF make my holy grail watch (GMT Earth 🌏); came close to getting it once preowned...so much love for this brand, this will be the last watch I will buy for my collection & I will wear it not keep it boxed up.
A masterpiece. I love the randomness of the texturing on the back and how the light catches it. The watch-face is a joy too! Asymmetric but perfectly balanced nonetheless.
I am so jealous you were able to meet Steven. I never see watches where I live but am a fanatic. Spend hours a day on watchprosite and love watches. I think I was a watchmaker in my last life... Thanks for posting
I went on their website. It makes a Richard Mille look like a Daniel Wellington. Very interesting. Great Video. Not being able to afford doesn't make it less interesting.
Great video and a refreshing change. These guys are geniuses, so talented. I'd love to spend some time with them to see them at work. Fascinating, and one half is British!!!!!!!!!! Awesome...
Man you gotta stop 'apologising', The quality of your videos is the best, and the content is fantastic. 95% hand made f***, but he didnt say ahh 'out of the realm of what we make(talk about)' Smashing it B&J
While I’m at it, I wanted to encourage your entrepreneurial undertaking. I’m in the process of building my second company and it takes a lot of focus, passion and effort. I enjoy what you’re doing and the spirit with which you do it. Keep up the outstanding work.
Not my style of watch, but impressive nonetheless. It makes me happy that they’re keeping the traditional way of making watches alive. I’m a pilot by profession, but I’m a goldsmith as a second profession, so I have experience working on metal with hand tools, as hand made gold smithing is a family tradition, that has been passed down through quite a few generations in my family. Refreshing video.
A truly mesmerizing watch and a breathtaking example of the nexus of engineering, precision, design and art that draws us all to horology. This one will live long in the memory. The best compliment I can give you for this beautiful video is that it fully befits this incredible watch. Thank you for highlighting this piece, and for all of the obvious hard work that went into doing so. Your channel goes from strength to strength, Adrian!
Magnificent piece. And many times this type of interview is tedious. But because of the directness and concision of this subject, this interview was fascinating.
Love the asymmetry and negative space with this watch. Really allows you to focus on the balance wheel and exposed architecture of the piece without feeling the noise of watches that are skeletonized.
First Adrian I have to commend you on your style it's refreshing to see a person let the guest speak it's nice to hear uninterrupted with any quips if you will and also what a gorgeous watch.. I love it when you interview people your skills rival that of Ben climber ! IMO cheers🤙
It's rather large for a dress watch. Mind you if your spending that amount of money you certainly want it noticed. Really good the hear how the masters go about their work. Excellent video!
Okay that's an amazingly beautiful watch. A piece of art. This has a pocket watch vibe. The conversation was interesting. You don't hear from this guy that often so kudos for the interview. Good to get his perspective.
Amazing watches and I have been very fortunate to spend time with GF watches in the past and wear and enjoy them. Great job Adrian for another super video.
Love seeing stuff like this and from Roger Smith trying to keep the skills and craftsmanship alive for this and future generations. Seems like 70% of RU-vid watch content is Rolex related, so always refreshing to see videos like these of people doing truly extraordinary things in the business.
Hi great video congrats for getting Gruebel Forsey. Hope the spelling is correct. your small responses are ok and he is a talker. If possible jump in with some comments. Good job at the end. I hope you mention the following “this is an amazing new design is a strong and a departure from your you normal works, what was the inspiration? “ Try on your next video. Great video and great watch imagery. Keep em coming
Wunderschöne, von Hand gefertigte Uhr, vermutlich die Speerspitze der mechanischen Uhrmacherkunst. Allerdings unbezahlbar, für mich jedenfalls 🤷🏻♂️ Danke Adrian für diesen tollen Beitrag und bleibe weiterhin neugierig. Grüße aus Deutschland 🇩🇪 🤘🏼
Excellent stuff Adrian great interview and photography. However although I can appreciate it’s a handmade horological marvel, can’t say I like the look of it that much. So I’m afraid GF I won’t be purchasing. Oh dear, I can them crying into their champagne now. 😉😁
Great Vid Adrian! The watch is gorgeous! The work on the hands look as good as a Breguet. I think though if I was willing to drop that price on a watch I would want the screw slots on the face and on an individual mount piece/part to face the same direction. Just sayin. Maybe I am being too picky, so I won't buy one.
Nice, not my sort of watch tho, don't care what it costs. However, let me get this right, they made everything except for the spring that is central to the watches mechanism? that actuality makes it function?
Unrelated to this video but I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the new TAG Heuer Monaco 02 (in-house Calibre 02 movement). Should classic watches be given brand-new movements? On that note, do you think watches hit peak design in the 50s/60s? Cheers.
To be honest... I can't appreciate the work put into this. Not that I'm against complete watch making but it seems an exercise is near futility with a price to match. High end finishing on the other hand looks amazing and can't be done by machines yet.... So that makes a lot more sense.
I find the 2 a year slightly hard to believe if they are making 4 times the amount of pieces to make 1 watch, surely that would put them ahead on the next piece
