The first part of the video is doing modifications and improvements to my wood splitter and trailer. The later part of the video shows the Wallenstine logging winch met its match when attempting to winch a big yellow birch over an embankment.

That winch is great for logging! Nice job on the table for the splitter. You are going to have a lot to split now! lol Have a good one!

Yep. Will be heading there tomorrow morning to process up some wood. As for the table I don't consider myself a welder or fabricator but I can stick two peaces of metal together. In this case, this simple fabricating job sure made spitting easier on the back.

Nice piece of equipment. New subscriber here! Those logs were quite big. But the weight of the log is not the worst, but the rocks... Thanks!

speaking of a ton....I lifted two ton worth of firewood peaces onto the splitter the other day. You are going to have a hard time keeping up to me this year when we are fishing. lol.

Yeah that is a big yellow birtch..Some hard winching there. It will give your wood splitter a workout as well I imagine.
@LostCaper
@LostCaper 5 лет назад
Yep heavy winching and hard sitting. After splitting the first peace I realized I should have use it as a saw log to make a table top. It sported beautiful coloured wood with a wave. Of course by this time I had it all bucked up so I split some some peaces into 2 to 4 inch thick. I am thinking I will make some cutting boards out of that.

Nice Ray. Love seeing the methods you use to get logs up to the tractor and in position for splitting. Enjoyed a full watch.

Thank you for sharing they're definitely all dialed in that's for sure! Having that winch on your tractor's perfect... How long have you been logging? .... do you make or have you made furniture from your logs? I'm in the process of completing a custom stomach chair I haven't worked on it for a while so it's down in my videos that might be something you'd be interested in checking out.. God bless bye for now can I look forward to hear from you

Any who complains about the price of fire wood should be forced to cut their own! It’s a lot of work. I’m in Baddeck in a job for a day or 2, any place you’d recommend I drop a fly in the water handy for a trout? Cheers, Jeff.

are you staying at the campground out by the Baddeck River, just past the big red barn?
@thelogfather5002

Yes sir.
@LostCaper
@LostCaper 5 лет назад
@@thelogfather5002 You can try your luck at the Baddeck bridge which is just past the red barn where you are staying. If you are familiar with Baddeck, go uphill when you are on mainstreet. Keep going straight over the overpass and keep going another 5 km or so. You will come to the same river just upstream. Pass over the bridge and on the immediate right there is a trail that leads down to the river. Some trout may be there. You can work you way down river a bit past the bridge. Some nice holes there. Try a green machine. If the river is not to high cross the river and fish your way upstream for about a km. You might run into some trout there. That would be the easiest.
