@@xaenon yes it's called the bystander effect. Regardless of Bravery unless you've had training only about one in a hundred people would instinctually go to help. And some people who think they are cowards would instinctively help. It's not really in your conscious control unless you've had prior training or have a lifelong habit of helping people in trouble. If you want to be the person who helps then go get training now.

As a nurse I've used a vein finder many times and its especially useful in patients with small veins or hard to see veins, like in obese people. A very cool and useful tool!

For anyone confused about what's happening in the second to last clip, it's most likely an unwanted display of dominance. If/when cats live in groups, very often the cat(s) higher in rank will groom the one(s) lower in rank, not the other way around like in many other species. The cat in front was likely trying to show dominance over the other cat, and the gesture was very much not appreciated. The cat that's being groomed is yelling as a warning that it's about to get aggressive, and when the warning isn't heeded it follows through. Cat fights are usually a lot of intimidation in the form of yowling and screaming, with very little actual combat happening.

I believe the vascular overlay in the whale's eye may be part of it's extreme thermal regulation system to manage temperature or blood pressure extremes while readapting to the surface from great depths. Like a human working their jaw to pop their ears on an aircraft or driving in the mountains. The whale has an extreme example to deal with though.

It has to do with the refresh rate of the device screen and how many frames per second that is captured in the video. 30 fps with a screen refresh rate of 85 Hz will produce what you see here. They are essentially out of sync. Your eyes are much better than the camera and won't notice the screen refresh.

Some additional information about the ferry from German online articles I've read: It happened last thursday (17th February) in Hamburg, Germany and according to the police, 3 people were injured. One person had to be sent to hospital due to cuts they got from the glass. From what I've read, those cuts weren't very serious luckily. After the first wave, the captain slowed the ship down so that no other wave would enter. Everyone was brought to land savely. They were very wet though, which ain't fun in cold German February. Apart from that, the ferry company informed the police way too late, which caused the police to investigate who's responsible for the late announcement. They got informed by the captain several hours after finding that video online. In Germany, captains have to inform the police right away about such incidents, directly after getting back on land. The company also wanted to investigate why the glass broke in the first place and if it was a mistake of the "relatively inexperienced" (sic!) captain (for example if he set the ship's speed too high for that weather).

The funny thing is, there was a warning of a big storm in germany and even schools were closed. It was said that everyone who had no business being outside should stay inside. Then we get to see these idiots riding a ferry in one of the worst conditions ever in germany. I was dehydrated and always been hard for nurses to find my veins for an IV. So on that trip to the hospital, after 3 nurses (the last being their #1 vein finder) and being pricked in my hand, both arms, and wrists area (about 8 tries). They bought out that device to find my vein. I had so much bruising, and I'm on bloodthinners. I would have paid money for them to bring that out first. The longer video includes him locking a poor kitten in a black box OFF CAMERA.... only to break it open for views...DISGUSTING... you can see the "karen" car parked at the place he's staying at as further proof of the "karen" being in on it. as a german who lives near the ferry and used it a few times. I can comfirm that there were no injuries what so ever. On board of the ferry were only employes from airbus who came home from work after the shift change. They didnt even need to call any emergency services.

The vein finder thing isn't all that new. There's actually one for combat medics that shines IR through the limb, and if I recall correctly, the iron in your blood blocks the IR. So a combat medic with night vision goggles sees your arm, or whatever, glowing green from the other side, and all your veins and arteries are black. Its really freaky, because if you move your head around, you're basically getting a 3d picture inside the limb. I think its also how a pulse oximeter works. Also, if you look at someone with an IR illuminator using night vision, same effect. All the veins close to the surface are black. They look like a zombie.

The ferry was in Hamburg, Germany. They didn´t even call the fire department. Some of them went to work afterwards, some took the next ferry home. Apparently 1 had to get some stichtes, but that seemed to be the worst of it at least as far as I heard. It was the result of a storm in Europe and those people where commuting to work

The ferry was driving on the river Elbe in my hometown Hamburg (Germany). I can confirm that thankfully nobody got hurt 🙈 As the gas has safety standards, instead of shattering into sharp pieces it “pulverised” and if you go finde the whole video you can actually see the men in front walking by the camera men after he got hit by the water.

The vein finder company is actually a customer of the company my dad works for. My dad got to take one home for a few days to play around with it, we were some of the first people to ever use it before it got released to the medical companies. Pretty cool.
