We have got a new product in the show room for you all! This video goes over the new product as well as the New tax return options you have while buying a wood burning fireplace!
The Green mountain 40 from hearthstone is a hybrid wood burning fireplace that has some amazing features! Lets take a deep dive into some of them! First off we take a look at the exterior! This fireplace is cast iron with amazing gasket material to hold heat! It also has a catalytic combustion. This allows the fireplace to burn cleaner and more efficient. This also give you the option to get the tax return option on your fireplace. Then we take a look at the awesome soapstone interior! as discuss in the video this material has many advantages as compare to regular firebrick. For example this natural material hold heat for longer because it is naturally more dense. As a result after your fire is out you will still get radiant heat coming from the firebox. This results in a longer getting period and a higher efficient burn!
There is nothing we don't like about this model! The awesome big glass window really opens up the firebox and puts a modern twist on a classic look which we love to see. HeartStone fireplaces are really changing the wood burning fireplaces game! They are working with soapstone which we have never seen before. We love a good honest company that innovates and develops to ideas and products!
Don’t forget if your in the Denver Colorado Area visit our showroom today.

I've had the 2550 Encore for nearly 25 years and have not had any issue other thank typical gasket failure this last year. I burn it at 500 to 600 degrees and don't put anything in it but good dried wood. Pine, oak, pecan, and mesquite. Mesquite burns very hot so one must keep an eye on it because it will get hot quickly.

On some of the larger ones you might be able to fit a pot or pan.

Are there any stoves that automatically monitor the wood burn and adjust the air flow to maintain the optimal burn?
@embersliving
@embersliving 2 года назад
not that I know of
@aarongranger

I was just looking at a Vermont Castings stove video and they had a heat-based mechanism... I assume to automatically slow the burn once it gets up to temp (to keep a long, slow burn overnight without reloading, I assume). It's not really the 'optimal burn' selection you were looking for, but it's along those lines, I think.

Blaze kings used to have a thermostatic air door that would increase or decrease air flow to hold in range selected on a knob.

What's the life span of this wood stove? Does the catalytic have to be replaced every so often?
@embersliving

Watched few videos, you not talked about ashes or how to take them out
@embersliving
@embersliving 2 года назад
most you just use a scoop, and some have an ash pan option
@pugsymalone6539

I use a fireplace shovel, transfer ash and embers into a wok which is resting within a large aluminum basting pan. I take that outdoors and use a French fry basket to separate the ash into a galvanized trash can, saving the red hot embers. I can restart the fire in no time and can save and extinguish some embers for future use.

I made omelettes on my Intrepid II the other day and it worked well with my cast iron pan. Just cook when the fire has died down a bit, a roaring fire will probably be too hot.
