It kinda worked, elf was not turning on autocast on dryads and alot of bloodlust got by unchecked. If anything it forces some additional apm that elf might not have in the midst of it all.
Going Tauren might be a good strategic bluff to force NE go chims, and then you just mass HHs. Also I think taurens might not be that bad given how most NEs know is the strict meta and forcing them to go off a bit might just mess up their brains.
the problem is, the higher is the mmr, the less effective the strat is because the enemy NE can just roll you over quickly before you even do those things
Orcs don't want to trick NE to go chims though. And if/when they do, you'd still need/want raiders in which case you just play the meta of raider/walker from the start. No need to go tauren. And you can mix in HHs into that strat anyway. This is more steps just to revert back to standard orc meta.
Grubby you should do a Elden Ring build. You pick Human. Research backpack. Put items on your footmen and knights. And try to find ways to fall off the map losing your runes
Surround at 13:17 must have been satisfying. Just feels right that orc incorporates blood lust, its an orc staple... Brings back memories of blood lusting the ogre mages in wc2
I would like to see more bloodlust in general with orc. It fits like a good stepping stone to t3 in a normal t2 build grunt raider shaman. And buffs in general are stronger than debuffs, since they dont lose duration on heroes. Honestly everytime you see bloodlusted orc, its scary. Compared to other t3 casters: inner fired human army ok; roared elf army: nice; frenzied undead also pretty scary, but undead has less lockdown.
I wonder what a walker tauren build would be like: wherein you get to max pop, kill several of your own taurens to create more, and then resurrect them with walker to go over pop. Then one biiiig push.
Finally !!! I saw Grubby play one game after another while remaining T2 and unfortunately lose despite having an insane micro. But with T3 units it immediately makes a difference!
To be honest, Bloodlust I have always found to be too much of a liability than an asset. It is stupid easy to counter it with all the factions, with Undead being the worst to use it on. Hell, I won a 3on3 near the end of my Wc3 days using Lightning Shield wisely over Bloodlusting. I prefer the Witch Doctors and Spirit Walkers over them for effectiveness any day.
the optimal build vs nelf is obviously mass wyverns, 100 food max upgrade dryads just die, and if they swap hippos or crows smack em with a couple bats
12:24 -- Poor play by Grub. Lvl-up gave Shadow *JUST ENOUGH mana to self-heal* , yet he opted to Hex DH instead, even tho *neither he, nor KotG had mana for spells !!* Thus, SH still ended up dying, eventually... :P .
Do dryads remove Speed Scroll+ Lust with one-timed Abolish? Or 2x for each one on one unit? I would rather wait with the Lust until they wasted on scrolled units otherwise
bloodraged taurens are actually lit, they damage all the units, so you can basically focus the hero with everything else and his units will still die. neat.
Scroll of protection probably would be better for this because it lasts so much longer. If they ever turn on auto-abolish, there's going to be protection buffs there.
Why not add 1 or 2 tauren shamans (man my 🧠 blanked out and I forgot their names) for spirit link, relatively low mana cost and spreads to multiple units. Dryads will go OOM so fast
17:10 -- "I know Conan [his viewer who submitted the request] is gonna be very happy about this..." 17:17 -- "He may not even... ... *...see the lamentations of Women...* " wtf... ? :D Like... *WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN ?! xD* .
I dont think abolish magic counters bloodlust. A shaman, 2 food unit, can cast 11 bloodlust on full mana while a dryad, 3 food unit, can cast 4 abolish on full mana.
Meaning that the elf have to use wisps as well to be efficient against it. So can we say that the opponent there wasn't that good (compared to some other)?
that was a fun game but I think you could count the times abolish magic was used on one hand. As far as the strat is concerned, protection scroll is probably a better choice cuz it would be a more appealing target for dispel.
Grubby, I am a fan of Yours for a long time. I've never seen you like this. Please, I beg You, share with us where do you get your speed, because apparently mine wasn't the quality that you got.
yo @Grubby what about an UD build vs ORC or HU where you go CL with Impale and Beetles, Rod of Necromancy and bumrush an enemy along with an acolyte. You impale or kill the workers, stop the gold mining, summon a haunted gold mine to keep it shut down and pump out as much beetles and skeletons as possible from dead worker corpses. The unit amount inside a tight base will be hard to shut down, especially since both races have no good early way of dispelling magic. even if they manage to shut everything down, the haunted gold mine will take them even longer to get the gold running again. Therefore maybe you just try to overwhelm them with the next attacks because their gold economgy is so crippled its hard for them to recover / hang on. Did not put too much thought in it, but would be happy to see it anyway.
Disclaimer: I haven't played since 2010. • Scroll of Protection : Goblin Merchant, 150g, stock of 2 • Scroll of Speed: Voodoo Lounge, 35g, stock of 2 If you were to include Protection, it would arguably have an impact but it would most certainly need to be used after Speed so that the Dryad Abolish casts have a heavier opportunity cost. If the intent for Protection is to force Abolish, this might be ill-advised- if the goal is instead to combine Bloodlust with Protect, those Beef Sticks would certainly hurt
A masterclass in all areas of the game from the master himself IMHO. I enjoyed every second of it! It's such a pleasure to watch Grubby when he plays like this. Now I'm off for a shower & a long stroll along the beach. :)
In Conan's defence, Armour scrolls have the advantage of lasting longer and giving you more value vs someone who refuses to turn on autocast before bloodlust
what's funny is that in original RoC days, Orc was unchallenged on the ground if they got bloodlusted taurens. This was before magic damage doing 200% to heavy. Anyone who tried to face orc players in a melee fight would get absolutely CRUSHED. The frequent splash damage from the Tauren would massacre everything. The 200% bonus on magic damage was greatly opposed by the community when it was being implemented. Thus this tactic is sort of a callback to those OG days.
Remember every returning player may know how everything works, but stand no chance against the people they play against that have been playing for years
this is so much more satisfying than usual to watch, because your army actually has DPS to kill stuff. usually it's just a tickling battle and heroes like... goddamnit i forgot the war3 name for the anti mage - anyway, heroes like that just do whatever they want.
Cool build! But definitely off-putting to see you and your chat make fun of the opponent for staying in a losing game, especially considering how many hopeless-looking games you've stayed in and ended up winning
Can't you mix in one walker since spirit link also hits like 4 or 5 units for more dispels? Also Taurens can help tank for a shaman or headhunter if no dispel?
