Christian Bale as gorr was the best part of this movie. I honestly couldn’t hated either it was just incredibly wholesome and but yes it was not as great as Ragnarok. Ragnarok hit the bar so high

Even in the beginning of the movie I feel sorry for Gorr for losing his daughter 😢

For a movie about a serial killer of gods, there's very little of god-killing. The discussion of "mortality vs immortality" is not brought up at all, which could've find Jane in an interesting place.

Admit it. We felt bad for Gorr and why he did these evil actions.

Due to an enchantment Thor unknowingly placed on it years earlier to protect Foster, Mjolnir reforges and bonds itself to her. Thor arrives in New Asgard just as Gorr's attack begins. Thor is surprised to find Foster wielding Mjolnir, but teams up with her, Valkyrie, and Korg to fight Gorr. The group thwarts Gorr, but he escapes, kidnapping several Asgardian children and imprisoning them in the Shadow Realm. The group travels to Omnipotence City to warn the other gods and ask for their help in creating an army. The leader of the gods, Zeus, fears Gorr and is unwilling to help, thinking they can remain safe and hidden from Gorr in the City. Zeus orders the group's capture to prevent them from exposing the City's location to Gorr. When Zeus injures Korg, Thor impales Zeus with his own thunderbolt which Valkyrie steals before they escape. As the journey continues, Thor and Foster rekindle their romantic relationship and Foster reveals her illness. The group arrives at the Shadow Realm but are unable to locate the children. Foster sees ancient drawings that depict Thor's battle axe Stormbreaker as a way to summon the Bifrost to enter the realm of Eternity and deduces the trap laid out by Gorr. She throws away Stormbreaker to prevent Gorr from accessing it. However, Gorr overpowers the group and threatens to kill Foster, forcing Thor to summon it back. Gorr successfully steals Stormbreaker, and injures Valkyrie before a weakened Foster collapses. Upon travelling back to New Asgard, Thor discovers that Foster’s Thor form is not allowing her body to naturally fight the cancer. Due to this, Thor travels to Eternity's altar alone, and using Zeus's thunderbolt, imbues the children with his power to fight Gorr's monsters while he battles Gorr. When Foster senses that Gorr is about to kill Thor, she joins the battle with Mjolnir to save him. They destroy the Necrosword, freeing Gorr from its influence, but the three are brought into Eternity's realm. With Gorr poised to make his wish, Thor implores Gorr to revive his daughter instead of destroying the gods. Thor then leaves Gorr to make his decision and attends to Foster, who succumbs to her illness and dies in his arms. Moved by their display, Gorr wishes for Eternity to revive Love, which it grants. As Gorr dies from the curse, he requests Thor to take care of Love. In the aftermath, the children return to New Asgard, where Valkyrie and Sif begin training them, and a monument in honor of Foster is built. Thor adopts Love, who joins him in his heroics, with the former wielding Mjolnir and the latter wielding Stormbreaker. In a mid-credits scene, back in Omnipotence City, a recuperating Zeus sends his son Hercules to kill Thor. In a post-credits scene, Foster arrives at the gates of Valhalla, where Heimdall welcomes her.

My reactions to... Thor's Kick-Off Fight (2:11): GORGEOUS MADNESS! HERE IS A PHOENIX BIRD! Final Fight (6:59): Regarding the children, I felt a strange mixture of Pride and Deadly Terror. In the end I felt sorry for the death of Dr. Jane "Mighty Thor" Foster and Gorr the Butcher of Gods. But most of all, Guss N' Roses HIT IT IN BOTH SCENES WITH MY 2 FAVORITE SONGS! (Welcome to the Jungle & November Rain) Postscript: I remind you that Zeus DIDN'T DIE... Post-Credit 1 proves it.

I Like That Movie

I liked “Thor: Ragnarok”, so when I found out that that film’s director Taika Waititi would be returning to direct another “Thor” film, I was intrigued. Having said that, I was disappointed. I did not like “Thor: Love and Thunder”. Sure, it’s not boring, there is some fun action, the acting is okay, and there are some decent set-pieces. However, the humour is cringey and unfunny, the story is very basic, the tone is all over the place (with an uneven mix of absurd/lighthearted comedy, heavy drama, serious sci-fi and fun superhero/action/adventure), the pacing is too quick, there is little character development, the filmmaking is generic, and the framing device of the character Korg telling the story to a group of little kids is awful.

I didn’t hate this film as much as I did for the other recent MCU products but it’s still a major disappointment. Most of the jokes fell flat and some of the characters felt like big missed opportunities (Especially Gorr). Also, Am I the only who was annoyed with Russel Crowe’s character for somehow surviving both a bolt through the chest and an unbelievably large fall?

Finally the real deal

Had a feeling you'd cover this one (you still need to cover Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk can wait till later), Love and Thunder really isn't that bad as people make it out to be (ESPECIALLY on the toxic s****house that is Twitter), yes the writing is messy and sometimes it does feel like it is at war with itself in terms of tonal change (then again, Taika CAN be serious also other than just him being a comedian), but hey obviously its a blast and actually fun to watch.....even with hit or miss jokes. Plus, I feel like Marvel and Fiege should be honored for having Christian Bale as Gorr, the man is described as a scene stealer for a reason and it shows, I actually wouldn't mind if he'd got cast as a DC villain someday (yeah I know he already played Batman in The Dark Knight Trilogy but DC also reuses actors for other roles so its still possible).

Moon Knight when?

Never stop making these.

As much as I liked this movie, I can understand all the criticisms. There are so many wasted opportunities in this movie: Sif, Darcy and Selvig meeting Korg, Valkyrie and Miek, multiple scenes of Gorr butchering the gods (I wanted Khonshu to be one of the survivors so he can bump into Thor), a more impactful scene of Thor shaming the gods for their selfishness, Valkyrie having an arc about being King of New Asgard and bearing the responsibility of rescuing the children, exploring the parallels between Jane and Gorr and the overall balance of action, comedy and drama that the previous movie had. The worst part is most of the jokes either aren't that funny or just aren't. And yes, the Team Thor shorts aren't canon which is perfect because they can be as silly as they want. Again, this movie is not bad, just misguided. And it is still infinitely better than The Dark World. There's theory video I love that the more ridiculous plot conveniences is actually Korg embellishing the story since after the logo, it starts with Korg telling the kids the story of the movie and narrating between movie acts. Also, I would've loved a post credit scene where the Necrosword helps the little symbiote speck from the post credit scene of No Way Home find Peter. Sony probably wouldn't allow it, but it's definitely better than their Spider Man Villain Without Spider Man Cinematic Universe. Seriously, as someone who only enjoys the Venom movies, how cool would it have been if Eddie actually MET Peter!?!

This film was the last straw for me. Gorr is awesome in the books, here he's been nerfed! It's basically giving the finger to anyone who reads. The Venom sequel made me mad, this made me quit watching the MCU.

It was good, not as good as Ragnarok, but at least it have its share of epic and funny moments. I'm getting the feeling, that at this point, Marvel might as well be doing R rated Mcu movies sooner or later, because nowadays, DC and Warner Brothers have made R rated shows and movies, then why not Marvel and Disney? Sure, there were Marvel's Netflix series that have adult ratings, but why not R rated Mcu shows and movies? For better or worse, Deadpool 3 might be the 1st Mcu movie with a R rating, but if not, then maybe Thunderbolts. And speaking of that, you should now do Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel.

This movie is really a series of missed opportunities strung up in a yarnball of lousy writing. Also, another shame that the '80s aesthetic that made 'Ragnarok' so fun left with the Guardians as they exit the picture.

I love Ragnarok but this movie def killed the MCU fan in me. Captain Marvel is still worse but this is pretty much the course of where MCU is heading.
