@@kierantaylor8588 In terms of raw power Hulk is the strongest, since more you beat him up the stronger he gets. Only someone like Comics Loki can defeat Hulk because of his deceptive techniques, in the comics Loki is as physically strong as Thor.
@@niweshlekhak9646 I mean, he's not really bud. Thor tapped Loki's arm and broke it in the comics. Thor opened up a million tonne chasam and trapped Loki in it where he wasn't able to get out. Thor's overcome infinite weight while Loki's only classed as a 50 tonner (which he's obviously way, way higher than but you know what I mean). That's no disrespect on Loki either. Comic Loki is ridiculously OP let alone compared to nerfed MCU Loki who's seen as a joke by basically everyone which always disappoints me. And physically in the comics, he is very strong, having been able to fight in physical back and forth with Eric Masterson Thor as well as grappling with the Silver Surfer. Let alone magically, where he's been able to overpower Doctor Strange himself. He's in his own league and it's truly a shame they don't show that in the MCU. But still, he's definitely not been shown to be Thor's physical equal at all, despite his extremely impressive physical feats. That's where his magic comes in. When Thor really wanted to, he began choking the life out of Loki with the God of Mischief unable to do anything. God I wish MCU Loki wasn't so weak now talking about it.
@@insatiateire4784 I felt the same way at first. Then I realized that it'd just be the axe but with lightning instead of frost/ice. I'm glad they gave us the spear
Glad you witnessed it :) Now, I need something to witness in 50 years. Found it! Full Dive VR! I will enjoy it. Very very much. I hope I live long enough.
@@lodostic1015 it has been said that will be forged a new Mjolnir for Jane Foster. My point still stands because it will probably be called mjolnir v. 2 or some other shit.
It shouldn't do that. Mjolnir is a projectile. These hack filmmakers literally shit out random powers for characters ignoring the comics. That goes for Heimdall's stupid Skype call/teleport powers and Hela's... well, everything, since she has none of the powers of her superior comic counterpart.
@@spamton5266 There isn’t inherently good or evil in Norse Mythology. It doesn’t support the ideal that the gods were omniscient, moral judging beings. They are humanised and mean subject to good & bad behaviours. Odin wasn’t bad nor good just like Surtr
@@human3213 Maybe for you. I'm sick of Disney now. I don't like the disneyfication of everything that has been happening recently. Everything before Endgame had some form of quality. They are just making money by producing bullshit content without any focus on the quality. The bleating goats, forced humor, kids getting thor's powers, Gorr changing in the end, the Gods leaving the Sword there in the forest for him to pick, the goofy costume design for Thor's helmet, the owl villain in the beginning of the film, Zeus being a joke, Axel's poor CGI head floating, etc Nothing appealed to me tbh. You may have liked it, but I don't, just like a majority of the people. It's the shittest marvel movie ever. Period.
@@lorduvaltv274 The Avengers technically go around killing everyone lol, probably the only one that gets spared are the one in AoU in the tech room that Tony incapacitated.
One thing I like about this scene is how the camera is centered on Mjolnir, showing how Thor has grown over reliant on it, which is touched on later in the film before he channels his electrokinesis and lightning manipulation directly through himself.
I always like to think that Thor being trapped by Surtur for so long is what changed his personality so drastically. Stuck with nothing but his thoughts and a skeleton
yeah, even have muspelheim's time pass differently or something so that 2 or 3 years (i think that was how long the gap between age of ultron and ragnarok canonically was)
@@Dilllonm yes he set out the end of age of ultron to find infinity stones. We next see him captured without a single stone in his possession. Don’t think it’s the full 2 years since Ultron he’s trapped but it’s a long time.
@@erosion271 I feel like he wasn’t captured the entire time the scene looks like he was just caught and then summon his hammer to get out immediately just to mess with him or maybe they took him to surter
Not gonna happen in the M-SHE-U. Only female characters will be portrayed as powerhouses. Wait until you see how they destroy male Thor and make female Thor more powerful.
@@haider2006 that won't happen at all. He'll get beat badly by Gorr and saved by female Thor. He'll say how much more powerful she is than him. Near the end He'll tell her you taught me how to be a real Thor. Imagine what a 13 year old girl would write and you pretty much have the new direction Disney is going.
1. It is Rock Paper Scissors, not stone. 2. Surtur wasn’t actually trying here. When he took down Asgard and fought Hela he was huge and using all of his power. Thor wouldn’t have been able to beat him then either.
@@mrmorningstar4216 keep opening the chests with the skull in the front. Atreus will stab the skull and open the chest. These provide ciphers needed to open the gates to Musphelheim and Niflheim. You need 4 ciphers to open each realm and there’s a surplus of this chest type in the game.
Thor : Gets captured, tells some funny jokes, escapes from being captured, beats some dusty bois, kills the big fire man, takes his head back home to sit on the fireplace. Truly a great hero
I would love to see that fight. Give me a solo Odin film please. It actually makes sense why we never saw Odin do anything OP in the films. Because he was always using all his Odinforce to keep Hela imprisoned.
@@towkirshuvo97 I always hated the Odin character because it was weak af because of that. Anthony Hopkins was excellent as Odin but the character was extremely irrelevant
@Anandhu Sarith Not even near the 20% like the 2.5% of his Power... They nerfed a lot of characters in order to Let others shine... Which I understand it, since it would be really Hard, to portrayed all the Strenghts of the characters, But for anyone that has taken the time to do some research or read the comics... It's a huge turndown sometimes...
"Best" is always a subjective assessment. Personally I would point to several versions of comic-book Thor, or the animated one from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, as being "better." But that's also subjective.
Ragnarok probably is one of the best MCU films, but it still bothers me that they didn't really do the event of Ragnarok any justice and didn't take it very seriously. This movie played more to the strengths of Waititi as a director and Hemsworth as a comedic actor than it did to the characters and the events of Ragnarok
I actually disliked how contemptuous Thor is in this film. He mocks arrogantly in a way I found off-putting to the character of Thor up to this point in the series. It seems that the writers were the types of people who enjoy pithy tweets more than the types of characters we've grown to respect and admire. In fact, I'd say he's guilty of the same weakness he was guilty of in the first film that led to his downfall. What the hell happened to pride or hubris being a character flaw?
@robhulson That's kind of bullshit. The situations were funny. Thor was always thinking about saving Asgard. Like the situation ,where they are stuck on sakaar. Thor s only concern was to save Asgard. He wasn't playing around.
Well yes he was blood lusted af he had to go all out against surtur even though infinity war Thor is superior this one he’s been fighting this way way longer so he’s more deadly he had to adapt to a new fighting stile after he lost his hammer now if infinity war had as much experience with storm breaker Like 1 hundred plus years oh yeah he’s a demon
@@joenuts4679 I would agree that he was mentally the strongest by the end of endgame, and maybe that’s what they meant, but Thor was definitely at his physical peak in infinity war and ragnarok, in endgame he was probably even physically weaker than in Thor 1.
0:18 The moment when I realized this will be a cool movie. But the music at this moment was awesome. And then Surtur saying „You‘ve made a great mistake Odin son“
Mark Hunter Thor can travel across the universe in mere seconds. Which is much faster than the speed of light. He officially runs faster than the speed of lightning and his reflexes are faster than mjolnir.
How tf did we go from this to Love and Thunder, this fight sequence alone beat fuckin everything in Love and Thunder. POV shot of Mjolnir flying around hitting bad guys, spinning it to block Surtr’s fire attack, cutting away from Thor absolutely molly-whopping Surtr and the shot of his decapitated head falling to the ground… fucking masterclass. All while a godamm dragon is watching over the fight.
I think it's because Ragnarok had a different writer while Taika wrote Love and Thunder. So, Taika might be great as a director but not so much as a writer.
0:34 One of the soldiers makes the exact same sound effect that hulk makes in The Avengers when he grabs Thor like a sandwich while fighting on the Hellicarrier.
i love thors plan... prevent ragnarok by step 1: defeating surter. step 2: "acquire" crown of surtur (an ingredient of ragnarok) step 3: put said crown in odins vault which also happens to contain the eternal flame (the other key ingredient of ragnarok. if thor wanted to truly prevent ragnarok he'd have dropped the crown in the heart of jotunheim, or tossed it into a neutron star, not tossed it into a vault 20 feet from literally the only other ingredient! way to think it through Point-Break.
@@venom-123 I guess it's a matter of defining "strength." In terms of physical strength, MCU Hulk is stronger than Thor. If Thor is using his elemental powers and has Mjolnir or Stormbreaker, Thor is more powerful overall. But in the comics Hulk is literally "the strongest one there is." His strength increases with his rage, and has no known upper limit. I don't think the comics have ever definitively settled which would win if they both went all out.
@@danieldickson8591 I like them both but hulk lost to thanos only to show how strong thanos is hulk would of won with ease the producers said I'm not trying to say that hulk is stronger then thor will he apparently is but I'm just saying why he lost to thanos I'm just saying how strong hulk is but for me they are the strongest avengers not I think that thor is the strongest avenger with angry hulk gone
Fun fact: Infinity War was the only movie where Thor didn't had Mjolnir. He had the hammer from all his 4 movies and the three Avengers movies, some scenes in Loki series and his Throg variant, also his variant in What If..?, and technically he did have it in Doctor Strange credit scene with the umbrella since it took place during Ragnarok movie. From the end of Love and Thunder, its pretty much seen that we can still see more Thor-Mjolnir action in Chris's upcoming projects.
Hardly. Ultron knew how to adapt and get under your skin. Before he strikes the first blow he shakes the willpower of his enemies. Sultur is just a brute.
wtf u dumb my guy lol? all surtur does in this entire fight is shoot fire out his sword, & then hit a bunch of times by mjolnir, & one shot from a lightning strike attack.
I actually think this is the best action sequence in the film, because its the only scene that feel Supernatural. Norse and Greek Myth are Supernatural concepts after all! The rest of the film is about Thor is about dealing with aliens. Mad Respect to Screen Master!
It took Taika to make Thor look cool fighting with the Hammer, it also took Taika to make Thor look cool generally. Which is absurd that no one else did cause he's the goddamn god of lightning
@@cheloxmv nothing says "God" like yelling like a little girl and being defeated by a taser. Taika is truly unmatched in his deep and esoteric understanding of godlike characters.
One thing I appreciate Taika did (yes even in Love and Thunder) is have the epic song he used in the trailers in the opening fight of the film. It’s sort of his way of saying “Yeah we know what you’re here for so let’s just have fun with it!” 😎🤟
Dude mjolnir is so much better for fighting. You can do soo much more moves and diferent combos its crazy. Watch iw and endgame, Thor is clumsy and slow af with stormbreaker
@@ronaldrump5058 Dude handle is just to long, you cant swing it properly. They should've made handle shorter like in comics. It would be waay easier to control. It has nothing to do with experience.
@@kompanjonac wdym thor had it for like 10 minutes. Meanwhile he had mjolnir for centuries. I'm pretty sure he was clumsy with mjolnir at first. And wdym mjolnir can do more, it is literally the baby version of stormbreaker that does eveyrhonf mjolnir can do but better. Doesnt matter if its slower, when thro throws stormbreaker it literally makes a circle of lightning that kills anything that touches it. Had thor learned to use it more, it would be made much more useful. Also if thor can literally lift tons of weight, stormbreaker shouldnt evne be heavy to him.
Mjölnir has the advantage of being smaller and with it the variety of movements is bigger, but the Stormbreaker is more powerful and can do more damage. Also, Thor is not slow or clumsy with Stormbreaker, the fact is that we didn't see many scenes of him using the ax in battle, in IW I think he used it well, unlike Endgame where his participation in the final fight was shameful
This was such a brilliant movie. Taika and the MCU made the worst ever MCU movie in Love and Thunder. They just point blank refuse to allow him to be King thanks to them ensuring 'King' Valkryie the enslaver is. They have now regressed him to a drooling, bumbling simpleton, an airhead jock who every character finds utterly insufferable because he's written like a walking catastrophe. And now they've regressed him further to make him the God of Hammers yet again, despite Taika's very last movie's entire point being that he isn't. They have to make Thor King or kill him off at this point. The idea he ended ANOTHER movie now just fucking around instead of taking up the mantle is unbearable. Remember when Valkryie enslaved Thor for the Grandmaster's games and twice refused to help her own people when he was all but begging her? Yeah, she'd be a better ruler for those people than Thor. God, this movie was the worst movie the MCU has made by a long shot. Thor is truly character assassinated.
