I have some inside information. I had a VIP experience at Thorpe Park, where I was talking to our member of staff about everything and my family were lost. He was telling us about the masses of land left on the island which not many people know about. He said ‘we are working with a manufacturer who’s name begins with M’ I immediately said ‘OH MY GOD WERE GETTING A MACK MEGACOASTER’ he just looked at me and briefly nodded. What do you guys think!!!!!????

it would make a lot of sense for thorpe to get a wooden coaster but more extreme than wicker man, they'd start small to get the general public excited about them and build a bigger one at thorpe

In the words of an enthusiast, Having a roller coaster near the entrance will intrude it, meaning roller coasters look better from a distance, but having it near the entrance might just spoil it, I think having a Wooden coaster in the park would be a great addition to the old town, it does need a some sort of new fresh attraction to take loggers leads place, also a wooden coaster on a big ass hill, might give them something interesting to work with. Don’t understand the obsession with Thorpe getting an RMC. Watching interviews with Alton’s creative team about Wicker Man it’s obvious they’ve founded a new, good relationship with GCI and so I think Merlin are more likely to work with them than RMC.

I think they should invest in all 3: A wooden coaster by loggers leap, a hyper coaster on the island behind Swarm and also a dive coaster on amity beach. Great Video!

What the park needs, is a good, airtime-packed woodie, something like wildfire or mystic timbers, not a Dive Coaster. They already have a coaster with a steep drop and inversions and other coasters that focus on inversions. But they lak a Wooden Coaster and an airtime machine. And since Merlin doesn't wanna spend a ton of money into their new attractions, a wooden coaster is way more likely than a hyper, because it would be cheaper.

a dive coaster doesn't make sense 1- that area isn't in the long term development plans for "big" rides 2- there is already a "diving " coaster = Saw. 3- it will be too big for the area 4- you would further remove a reason for people to also visit AT as you say...new rides will either be the island or loggers leap area, The loggers leap area would be easier for planning permission as it is a redevelopment rather than brand new. A GCI was one planned about 10 years ago but they decided to build saw instead (clearly more marketable).... now the marketing dept of Merlin have got past their ( stupid) fear of wood, a wooden ride is very possible. On the other hand they could end up building something else entirely... Don't be too surprised if they do something with the slammer area soon and again delay another coaster again...

Shame Merlin don’t invest much into TP, got so much potential! Really hate seeing them waste money and time on shit IPs like ‘I’m a Celebrity’ and ‘DB’ then bringing a fairly decent IP in, but wasting it on a preexisting ride that should have been scrapped years ago.

I doubt they will get a Dive Coaster as they already have Saw the Ride which is pretty much a Dive. Could be wrong though very interested in Thorpe's future

I’f Thorpe Park gets a new coaster I think if it a was Dive coaster It would go near the Swarm or a GCI to replace loggers leap

Working with Merlin - the truth is that from Alton towers- Chesington- and Thorpe park are there top 3 merlin attractions across the Uk - they rotate on one big ride and 2 small ones during the year e.g Thorpe park has the Ghost train which cost over 20 million - while other hot rides like cbb world in Alton towers - they rotate every 3 years on big attractions:)

Well for me it is may 2019 and I’ve no heard anything. However, I hope they make a creepy themed coaster like Wickerman (which is a great ride) and maybe have it open for this year’s fright night which I will be attending. Just an idea...

I hope its not horror themed, the horror theme is getting really old, they've been doing it since Saw. LOL its probably going to be themed to IT (Pennywise the dancing clown!) xD edit: I sadly don't think its going to be 2019, no construction hasn't happened yet. We're in sept now.

You do realise that thorpe park do actually have a new coaster that came out this easter? 'The Walking Dead: The Rude' Agin, both Horror Themed. It replaced 'X' So 'X' Is no longer there

Right, so obviously I do know I have replied to this before, but I've watched it again 9 months later and honestly, after watching this video, I think there could be, there was a lot of good poitns as to why there is. Before I didn't think there would be a new ride, but after this video, I think there could be, we would see at the start of the season, we would see clear scaffolding, I think TP does need a new coaster, as amazing as they all are, it would do with a new one to add some more hype.

Let's take a step back. Here are my plans... Guys these are my opinions Close Slammer for a full maintenance check. Have it reopen. Loggers Leap remained open but a repaint aswell. *I LOVE REPAINTS* Keep X as it was. Not get storm surge. Now, Zodiac could definitely have a better flat ride. But what could fit in it's space? A whole repaint for Colossus as well as pressure wash No ghost train Samurai *kept at Chessington* I'm not a huge fan of vortex, I think there is another ride that is better than it. Like an upside down disk ride. What do you guys think???

I'd say Thorpe Park were overdue for a new coaster. Especially now Logger's Leap is history. Out with the old, in with the new.

Thorpe park need to sort there crap out and invest in an actual roller coaster and not this “experience” or ‘VR’ bs. Imagine the ride they could have got if they invested the money from Darren brows ghost train and im a celebrity 🤦🏼‍♂️ i feel like there cutting corners because they care more about the economy of the park and not the experience overall. what a downfall :(

I really hope they dont demolish Amity Beach. Its lovely in summer and the main attraction to the park for young families. I would love to see a new coaster though (im a bit of a thrillseeker). The island behind Swarm looks like a good place

I'd love to see rides get improved rather than new ones. Chessington did It to Dragons Falls and its a good success. Why couldn't Thorpe Park do the same to loggers leap. Well at lest we know its happening to Rumba Rapids :)

A wooden roller coaster would be cool but at the same time investing in a wooden coaster isn't the greatest idea. Wooden coasters always need to maintained more than other types of coasters eg saw , swarm because over time the wood would rot so it would need to be replaced. The opening of wicker Man was a big step in a whole new realm of coasters but Merlin needs to consider what would be great in the long run and fit the theming of old town. There are plenty of possibilities because of the large amount of room they'll have if they demolish the log flume since it's beyond repairing after being closed for 4 years but still that's just my opinion great video 😆👌

I don't think Thorpe park will get one this year as they have refurbished a few things, wasted money on the walking dead and wasted a huge amount on the ghost train. Who agrees with Me?

I still have a believe that this ride will shut down our old log flume let’s face it it has had no regeneration for 3 years and it’s a mess sad to see it look that way but from any point of view that have to go and I think depth charge could be another one to go but you cannot take away storm serge as this is not ready to go yet.

I have an idea. I think it will be an Intamin hyper themed about the swarm. I know it is a very big long shot but that track looked like intamin to me!
