Though I live in the US, I've always had a desire to tour the UK. I never heard of Cardiff before Doctor Who but it looks lovely in background, esp when the Doctor and'/or Torchwood aren't running around trying to keep it from blowing up!

Some places do not come up regularly enough to be commonly known by everyone at any given time. You may say it's 'very American' to not know a specific fact about a country, but I can also say it's 'very Karen' to take someone to task for something that doesn't have to be an issue. You could have just politely corrected me without the attitude but chose to bring me to task over a 12 year old comment.

I'm from a place in north wales called Wrexham, most people I know are very nice. we've only had one race riot to try and keep non welsh people out in the last ten years. A great improvement.
Cymru has the lovely landscapes, the women, the music, and now the cinema talent is burgeoning through...even if the unemployment and economic deprivation is disturbingly high. Praise Cyrmaeg!
It's WALES...Whales swim in the ocean! Depending on what time of year you visit, it rains a lot in winter and it's cold. From May through August it can be very pleasant but always have an umbrella handy. Wales is extremely beautiful the Gower Peninsula is breathtaking as is West Wales and many more locations off the map. Check out "FLY 2 WALES"

Remember the days when Rhod Gilbert DIDN'T exaggerate his Welsh accent to get a laugh? As soon as he started to make a name for himself his accent mysteriously changed. Odd.
I am not comfortable with this, being a Welshman.............he has to make out that Wales is shit as almost to appease an English audience??? Why should Wales be looked down on by England of all places? What the fck have they got?? So what it rains much in Wales, it an astonishingly beautiful part of the World................much nicer than England and far greater quality of life.
i don't think he's doing it to appease an english audience,i think it's one of those things comedians do when they make fun of their own country and not other country's so it's not racist.
Oh lighten up. It's a joke and playing on caricatures. I'm Welsh and can relate to everything he says! Is Wales far greater than England? Some bits are greater than some bits of England. Some bits are shitter than some bit of England.
Oh typical here we go.......yes I do think Wales is far better than England. Its a far better quality of life in general and that's why so many English people choose to live here. I am in North wales so might be a lot better than the South, I dont know. If he was say Irish, he wouldnt have to make out his country is shit, almost to appease an English audience, would he? +Peter rob I don't think that's anything to do with having an English audience. It's just a lot more funny to joke in a self-deprecating way, and makes him sound charming. Talking about how great some place is isn't comedy.
What have Wales actually added to the world? I mean really, you could go anywhere else in the world and people will have heard of England, Scotland and Ireland but not Wales...
