Yes, that's true brother. If God grants repentance of sins( and that has any part in salvation ), then it had better be perfect repentance. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

Oh yeah, I've talked to many Christians like that, they say they believe in grace but when you press them on their terminology of grace, they say grace means you must repent of all your sins, that's grace? What? I talk to so many Christians like this that quote scripture like Galatians 5:19-21 and I try to explain to them, their debt to sin remains because they do not believe those that do believe are justified, the remission of sins is to all those that believe, God imputeth righteousness without works. It literally goes over their heads, they honestly believe they themselves can obtain their own righteousness by the law without the Need for Jesus Christ, its as though they believe the reason why Jesus came as a man, died on the cross was to remind mankind of the Law of Moses.

I don't believe my repentence is what earns my forgiveness. I repent to let the Lord know that I'm sorry for sinning. I know I'm already forgiven and saved through the blood of Christ, but I don't think that means we should just stop repenting. For example, I know that God knows every thought, desire, need and fear I have, but that doesn't mean I should just stop praying altogether because it's "unnecessary".
Yes that was would I was thinking, I mean we sin everyday in ways we don't realize we miss the mark and we fall short of the glory of God, and we need to repent of our short comings, not repenting of these sins sounds very wrong to me, we need to repent everyday! He already saved you 2,000 years ago on that cross and in the empty tomb. You're to trust in that. Sure you can admit it to Him when you realize you've fallen short and His Spirit will remind you that you are saved, washed and sanctified. But we all sin, every day. Things we're not even really aware of are sins. Boredom is a sin. Fear or worry is a sin. Complaining is a sin. Sin is a condition of this fallen flesh, and "sins" are a symptom of that condition, that's what people have to understand. Can we possibly even confess every sin and ask forgiveness for each and every one? No, that's not possible; we'd need the memory of God. He doesn't ask that of us. This is the will of God that we believe on Him whom He's sent. Period.

What is interesting is that I thought it was a basic principle and understanding that all Christians accepted that repentance is required. So is eye opening that not everyone accepts what I thought was basic Christian salvation principles. Interesting topic and sorry I’ve missed a lot of the comments (there’s hundreds of posts so too much to go back on). Our salvation does take something from our part, it doesn’t “just happen “ . Believing isn’t enough - the devils and demons believe but that doesn’t save them. As Christians we should naturally want to turn away from our sin and that’s what repentance is - basic Christianity :-)
I would like to point out if you admit you need a savior you are automatically repenting. Why would you need a savior from something you don't think is going to send you to hell?

To use the car wash analogy that was used, to not repent of your sins, would be more akin to you having someone come and wash and detail the car, then you go back and dirty it up again. So then what, does your belief only now mean you call the “car washer” again and that process start all over? Romans ch 6 addresses this, I’ll post verses 1-2: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Never. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”. You must be born again to inherit the kingdom of Yah. And repentance is a gift from Christ that comes from true belief, belief being to actually WALK in what Christ commanded us to do. heres my take.......if i go to the judge at the courthouse and standing there he looks at me and says all you tickets from this day forth are paid in full and all you need to do is on the way out get a receipt for confirmation and your free to go...........since jesus paid all our sins and God whos the judge sees that our folder is clean and nothing in there then all we need to do is accept the verdict and nothing else is required...we can then go home....if that is not easy then i dont know what else is.....

It isn't believe only. It is more like trust only. Believe is s poor translation. And you have to know in what you trust. You trust in love, always pouring down from heaven upholding creation, your eternal personal existence, unfolding as your life. Christ is Life, He is that in which we exist, wholly. There is nothing not in Christ, only that which would rather it was not so. And when one trusts Him, one can work without thought for one's recognition, but for the sheer pleasure of the work itself. We are saved from a self focused existence into participation in Life itself. We don't have to anything. But the point is to want everything.

Ok, first of all, the devil believes that Jesus is the son of God and everything He has done, where is he? And in John 8:11 when the woman was to be stoned, did Jesus say just believe in me and stay in your sins, or did He say go and sin no more? And in Matthew 7:14 its clear that few will make it to heaven. If all you have to do is believe, it would be more than just a few. If you only believe on christ you have repented from unbelief (repent of sins, be sorry,ask for forgiveness,showing fruit etc...these are unbelief )...to believing on him without adding anything. You have gone from self righteous to Christ righteous.

more BS. Again typical comments from this crowd Biblical repentance is simply turning from sin and looking toward the saviour Christ and stopping to live for your own will and live to do God’s will. Justified means-Just if I’d never sinned. Our sins are separated from us as far as the east is from the west. Sanctification means-Set apart. We’re no longer guilty of the sins we’ve committed. It’s not complicated, these preachers make it complicated.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what's being said here but if you're saying Christian's live in their sins after being born again then you're committing a great heresy and leading everyone who listens to you away from the Gospel. You're saved by Jesus alone, repentance isn't the root of salvation it's the fruit of salvation. A person who's been born again is made a new creation in Christ, you then keep the commands of Jesus because you love Him and you love Him because He first loved you. Anyone who says they're born again and lives in pornography, lying, blaspheming, pride or any other number of immoral acts is a false convert.

Repentance is the evidence of a regenerate heart, sanctification and ultimately salvation. If you're still in a life of sin it's because you wont let go of it and turn to Jesus. I'm very sorry that each of you are stuck in this state but the reality is that the bible is very clear. You cant be a slave to sin and a slave to Christ, it's one or the other. Huh I guess Jesus is going to Hell, who wouldve thought? 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance." Now , see I don't know what the message of this video is , but just to touch on repentance ,see don't base repentance as trying to justify yourself before God ,it doesn't work that way , but God looks for the change of heart , that's true repentance ,like the thief on the cross , he had a change of heart , that's a contrite heart which God wants , read 2 Tim 2 : 25. Think about it. If Jesus Christ is telling the Truth and mankind is a sinner that needs a saviour and those who believe in Jesus Christ for the *remission* of sins receives the FREE GIFT of eternal life then they sin all the way up until their last breath or the day of the Lord does that mean they lose their salvation? OR does it mean, their sins were not actually covered by the blood of Jesus Christ? there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, because Jesus not only paid the price for your past sins but also your present ones and ALL future sins. *ONCE you believe there remains no more sacrifice for sins* because Jesus was THE perfect sacrificial lamb. Do you not understand now how awesome the Lord is? there is nothing that can separate believers from the love of God, nothing.
