For years I‘ve been criticised by a family member and forced into jobs I never wanted. From the age of 10, I wanted to do photography. Now, retired, I‘m doing it. I no longer care if people criticise me, I‘m doing what I‘ve always wanted to do and ? everyone else! So yes, I‘m totally with you. 😊
Ah, I feel for you, I've been criticized, and learnt over time to ignore it and do what my heart tells me to do. Good for you, now you have time to play with, I wish you all the best on your journey of photographic discovery!
By a strange set of coincidences, I discovered this project via Dan Mullins' podcast. I discovered him via another related podcast after booking my own walk in April. Ive been following your work for a few years, and really admire what you do. I wish you lots of luck, and would love to have been able to join in - but time doesn’t permit. Oh, and I create for myself. If others like my work, that's a bonus.
Hi Neil, wow, that is a coincidence! If you've booked your first Camino, you're in for an amazing time! Where are you walking from? Appreciate the kind words. Buen Camino!
@@SimonBurnCreative I'm really looking froward to it. I'm using travel to deal with my recent bereavement, and it does work. I guess all the new experiences work to divert my mind on to better things. I've chosen the Ingles because it's short and I'm likely to manage it. I already know that I want to do the Portuguese coastal route sometime, maybe by bike, having seen some achingly beautiful video from Efren Gonzales on RU-vid..
@@neilt I've researched that route, but haven't yet walked it. It's on my to-do list. It's one of the lesser travelled routes, so you'll have plenty of time to yourself and your thoughts. The Portuguese route is becoming very popular, perfect for those who enjoy time on the coast. Efren makes some great videos that have helped many get an insight, and plan, their Camino adventure.
@SimonBurnCreative Just checked your journal. Leigh's podcast is where my trail started. What a wonderful experience this is becoming. Looking forward to listening to your interview later today.
@@neilt That's really interesting to know, I'll let Leigh know your journey started with her podcast, she'll love that. She's going to be walking with us in May. Maybe she should interview you when you return from your Camino. 🙂
lately it's been creating more for me. If people are interested they will subscribe, I don't particularly want to make the same review garbage everyone else it. Sure it may take a little longer to get to the monetization level, but I'll feel better about what I have created and will have a more dedicated audience.
TS Elliot said: "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go." All the best with this project, Simon. I look forward to seeing it, especially having completed "The Way" last fall. Will you be at the Toronto Spring Meeting?
@@catherinegardner3041 Andy Holloway, who is helping Dan Mullins plan his musical Camino, and helping me with the filming, will be staying with me that weekend. I'll bring him to the meeting. Look forward to meeting you.
I'm not laughing, I'm applauding you! Good for you! I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce. Like you, I'm fascinated by movies, not just the story telling but how they are put together. On that topic, one of my favourite channels is this one - www.youtube.com/@StudioBinder It's fascinating. Anyway, good luck! 🙂
Thanks Julian, whatever happens, this is a fun project to work on. The amount of pieces involved with making a film are plentiful, so much to consider and tie together. At the very least, I'll be sharing my findings and experience. Thanks for the link, will take a peek. Cheers!
I try to make things that I enjoy first and foremost. Otherwise I'm wasting my own time most of all. Looking forward to this journey of yours. Curious, what software do you edit with?
