I'm learning la vaguelette for my singing lessons. As a baritone I prefer to sing it an octave lower though. Sounds pretty awesome like that, especially since my voice naturally wants to sing with classical technique which suits this song really well. It's really fun to sing in languages you don't speak because it's a different way of interacting with a language. I get to hear not only how to pronounce it but I get to analyse how the composer applied the language to the music. In my opinion it's one of the quickest ways to learn pronunciation, assuming you study a diverse range of music to not get biased by stylistic choices within genres. Ps: the "Et ça ne changera" part was tough to get the hang of because the "ne" is almost silent and barely fits in the melody but it also sounds wrong if it's not there. Took me a few days of playing around with the phrase to get the feel for it.

Conceptually, I would argue that Geo and Dendro should have an interaction based on the inherent connection between plants and the earth (soil, dirt, ground; not necessarily rocks, although I’d guess there are even some hearty species of plants which thrive even in rocky terrain), insofar as Hydro plus Cryo creating the Freeze reaction makes intuitive sense. Also, Geo and Physical both existing feels a bit redundant. Why not have Physical just be the non-reacting type?

Geo can be inert, but the problem is not just Geo, it's both Geo & Physical. They both do the same thing, which is ignoring most reactions in the game. They need to differentiate Geo & Physical more from each other.

I thought it'd be cool if they made geo react with itself. I always thought Zhonglis petrification being unique to him was sort of a waist. I would've liked a geo character constantly applying geo build the element on an enemy to the point where they are petrified and then a high EM geo unit comes along and breaks all of them for high damage would be fun for mono geo. Kinda like HSR's break damage gimmick

so far, the only distinction between the two is that we don't have a passive buff from having physical units as opposed to having geo shred by having two geo units present.. one could say, geo is more comforting to invest on rather than a physical team because the game recognizes your team synergy

@@BadassHatdogthe game also deletes some of your investment to the bin completely simple because you “stand in the water” or “too close to boss hitbox” or the boss simply just thought what is this can i run over it real quick. And that cost the character build completely for example Albedo.

@@dgmojojojocontrary to popular belief you can actually place Geo constructs underwater! I think this misconception arose because we can’t place constructs on the Oceanid platforms (I think they are coded as entities?), but as long as the terrain underwater is solid you can do that.

As the motto of Geo being the "independent" element it never workout that much in a long run, not to mention the characters itself doesn't have enough characters to only work each other, and its unfair because take a look to the Anemo roster, they are known for being "flexible" with the other elements but they can also make each other a team like Geo.

Yea, that's kinda what he said lol they're not doing it well. The contention lies in the details, he thinks to solve it they need to do the "independent" thing better (release more, good Geo units incentivicing this style) whilst others think they need to give up on it and make Geo reactive (as if they're sure Hoyo won't botch it in execution like they did with "Geo being inert")

"Geo is meant to be inert". Also, Geovishaps, citizens of Geo staring at you while "absorbing" the power of Pyro/Cryo/Hydro/Electro. Also, Azdaha, the embodiment of Geo saying "screw Geo", then absorbs the power of Pyro/Cryo/Hydro/Electro to fight you. Doesn't look like Geo was meant to be inert. Chiori being overridable by Bennett seems to be meant to follow that philosophy.

His views on Geo overall are very confusing. Go back a year, year and a half ago, and he's saying he wants to have geo units that interact with the one geo reaction, shards. Fast forward to Navia's release, and Navia using shards as the key part of her kit makes her "not a geo unit" as she could have been any element and worked the same. Lately he's talked a lot about how Geo's whole thing is "mono geo" teams, Itto and Gorou are the only geo characters that are specifically designed for that. Even Chiori really only needs one that spawns constructs to be at her max potential (sans c1 for Navia, but I digress). Every other element can have a mono team, but they aren't limited to that design. Why should geo be the one outlier, especially when physical teams have been collecting dust in the corner for years? I don't think we need to add more interactions between Geo and other elements, but there's no reason why we can't have more characters that benefit from shards, or are good generic team members that have that flexibility to be slotted into any team.

​@@Tajih Yeah I see his point of not having reactions that matter, to be good, but still feels like Geo just doesn't do all the way. Geo units could have crazy mechanics since the reactions don't really matter. Navia is a cool concept, but IMO Chiori was just a step back.

The problem with geo being inert to other elements is that all geo characters have a very limited way to be designed. If geo had some limited interaction like dendro and say ice it would allow for geo characters to be designed around helping other elements instead of just more normal attack buffers for itto.

It's funny how the 2 geo character they released after so long is simply two power creeps lol. Navia power crept Ningguang in single target main DPS. Chiori power crept albedo in sub DPS.

@@strelitzia1091 well, in the videos that i saw he is a little bit better without constructs, unless you are considering burst damage, but in terms of elemental skill, he does a little more plus he activates 20% faster, which kinda matters in navia teams

@@markusbrendon So chiori is better in ningguang and itto team. Thats 2 out of the 4 geo teams. Even if she is marginally worse in navia or noelle team in terms of damage, the fact that her dolls wont break is a very good trade off vs albedo. I think the above is enough to constitute a power creep. Not to mention you can just get C1 if you want more damage in Navia/Noelle team.

I think a geo-dendro interaction would only work if EM wasn't basically the only stat any reaction cares about. Geo and Anemo are the only two elements where units designed to deal damage of those elements don't have any use for EM, but Anemo still has units like Kazuha and Sucrose who deal high swirl damage in exchange for less Anemo damage, so Geo is really the only element that gets to ignore EM completely. In a game with randomly obtained equipment I think it's important to have characters that don't care about specific stats so they don't all end up fighting over the same things.

Oh, I've just played with Navia in mono-Geo in open world (not like you need stacks for her E in open world anyway). And thought of an idea about a new character who could glue together the current Geo roster. First, we could use a buffer, but what would he buff if different Geo units scale from different things (not only ATK and DEF, but even HP for Zhongli)? Right, CRate and CDamage. This would make them useful even for non-Geo teams. Second, when we think about main DPS for mono-Geo teams we think mainly about Itto. It doesn't mean though that the only solution would be to add new main DPSes (well, it wouldn't hurt either). We have Navia, but at the moment she doesn't particurarly interact with other Geo units. What we could use to make her another mono-Geo carry is a character who could produce Geo crystallize shards without the need to interact with other elements. On top of that, this team could finally make use of rather forgotten Yun Jin, because Navia has a Geo infusion for her normal attacks. And slap a Geo construct on this new character, so that Navia and Chiori C0 could work together at least in this particular team (but you would still need C1 if you want to use them in other team, for example with Furina). Honestly, I'm not sure if everything lines up perfectly, or I'm just on copium. =)

In regards to a character producing shards without another element, geo shards exist but can only be produced by vishap hatchlings. If a character can do this that would be really interesting (they would also be able to use archaic Petra for other geo units)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Geo doesn't need more reactions. Anemo does just fine being an inert element that only has swirl. The reasons it fares better than Geo is because it has access to VV, units with kits that better utilize it's only reaction (unlike Geo where crystallize feels like a joke on every character but Navia), and because crowd control is inherently more valuable than Defense in a combat system like Genshin's. Geo's inert nature is a *strength*. It's what allows Zhongli to be a universal support. Imagine you can't slot Zhongli in a team because he interferes with the team's reactions-- suddenly, his value is much lower. Imagine an artifact set that's just Petra but it can proc off-field. Suddenly Geo supports could become a Defensive Alternative to Anemo units for boss chambers, where bosses hit heavily and crowd control is less valuable. Imagine an Albedo but his crystallize shields scale off his DEF instead of his EM, giving a hefty buff to the frankly insane amount of crystallize shields he can generate in any non-mono-geo team. Imagine a Geo Construct unit that increases the AOE, durability and pulse speed of Geo Constructs, bringing Microwave Teams back. There are SO many ways to meaningfully improve Geo while continuing to lean in to it's existing identity. Adding reactions to it is just lazy, and as Zajef says, not at all thematically coherent. More Geo units that can actually meaningfully capitalize on the element's existing strengths in different ways are what's sorely needed.

Geo's value would go so much higher if Archaic Petra didn't suck and would let elements stack and it could buff multiple elements (like VV) instead of only buffing the active crystalize shield, one at a time

Literally the only buff archaic petra needs (this is coming from my feelscrafter mind, so if this is wrong, boo and hiss) is for it to trigger when crystallize is trigerred, not when the character that has the 4p takes the crystal. It would be so much less clunky, and people don't pay directly for artifacts, so I don't see why hoyo shouldn't balance artifact sets that is universally known to be shit.

There have been missed opportunities to make Geo react in a different way with other elements to make it more interesting. For instance, Dori doesn't serve much of a purpose despite the potential to turn her into an Electro/Geo team enabler, especially considering her affinity for mora and her ultimate ability being similar to a construct. Similarly, Kaveh and his briefcase could have been a viable alternative to Nilou with abilities like exploding shards or something similar. Even Xinyan, who scales with both ATK and DEF, could have had abilities to detonate or vibrate Geo constructs for damage with her music idk. While I find the game to be great overall, I believe the character kits lack originality, especially around the Geo element. With very few Geo characters available, they seem to have created a 2.0 Albedo with Chiori, which is a real shame. Navia was a good idea though.

@@calliope-greii I don't really want to explain in detail why that is, when the reasons are so obvious. But if you really want the res shred and cc, just put it on this geo furina I brought up. No one is saying this imaginary character has to be 1:1 equivalent to furina and does everything furina do but it's geo "No bro that would be too broken". Just make it limited to geo team only, no one would complain about an already heavily limited element having a really good character that only works in said element team But the reality is, no matter what it is that geo truly needs, the devs won't add it because they are genshin devs so this discussion wouldn't even matter. I don't even know why I'm talking about it

as a dedicated Geo main(mained Noelle since 1.0, have every Geo except Itto, have R4 Redhorn, R2 Uraku, R1 Veredict) I like the way it is now, I do not want any new interactions except maybe having crystalize from Dendro as well, tho there's a (silly) lore reason why it only interacts with 3 elements. the only thing Geo can use is a better buffer, Gorou kinda sucks tbh I look at C6 Faruzan and feel envy

I agree for the most part but I think they could add some CC to its reactions to give them some more utility. For example when creating hydro crystals off of enemies, you put a debuff called mud or something that slows enemies movements or restricts their movement abilities. Extra effects from all PETCH crystals would make the at least somewhat viable without stealing reactions Right now crystallize is just useless on every character besides Navia. They could fix this with an artifact set but that’s more of a band aid fix to me. Swirl is closest comparison to crystallizes but it’s not exactly the same. Swirl can infuse abilities and apply elements to whole groups of enemies over time.

@@valentino2180 to make it simple, the archons are a reflection of the elements identity. Geo main gimmick is constructions but they are too fragile. Chiroi is an improvement but I still Hoyo hasn't find a way to utilize it's whole potential

@@Efgand0894 I think geo constructs being fragile is double-edged so it can be used as a curse or as a blessing. Basically, if geo constructs operated like bear traps, where being destroyed is where the purpose of the geo construct lies, then its fine if they are fragile, yet we have geo constructs where the whole purpose is to retain its lifespan. What we need are booby trap constructs. Basically a plethora of Baron Bunnies of different kinds- CC baron bunny, healer baron bunny, debuffer baron bunny, energy regen baron bunny, elemental absorption baron bunny, debuff dispelling baron bunny, a parry baron bunny too. So the concept is that geo constructs that when alive, would do their thing in increments like Yaoyoa's Yuegui but when destroyed, it does their specialty all-out like barbara's burst. A CC construct would taunt while it is alive, but does a lingering implosion when destroyed. A debuffing geo construct res shreds enemies by 20% to those nearby, but when destroyed, shreds 40% res in a larger AoE. An energy regen construct is basically Oz, but when destroyed, explodes into a bunch of particles you collect. Elemental absorption construct is Lynette's taunt burst, but geo, and when destroyed, the element that is absorbed leaves a lingering AoE applying absorbed elements onto enemies. That's what I see is missing from geo constructs. They aren't utilized to reward for them being destroyed. My concept allows you to either get immediate benefits through purposely destroying the construct on spawning or to have the incremental benefits with rewards coming later.

I mean geo doesn't lack elemental reactions. Geo has one reaction that can react woth 4 different elements. The exact same as anemo. Anemo's only reaction is swirl and it can react with 4 different elementa. But the geo reaction is just worse than swirl. But that's what it's supposed to be. Geo is supposed to be an inert element (as said in loading screen guides) and it's supposed be on its own, not carried by other elements/carrying other elements

In theory, a defensive leaning, non-offensive-elemental-reaction element sound interesting, but the actual way Geo was implemented, makes it a very uninteresting element to me. But the thing is, because so much has been built on top of the current system, it's just too late to change. My impression is that Geo is just going to feel like a half-baked element for the foreseeable future.

Dunno y you can't at least get green shields from Dendro and Geo....you get crystallize from Geo and the other elements (except anemo, but you don't have an anemo aura on enemies)

Problem is marketing geo as inert makes the characters rather unmarketable. Any decent player would recognise what value the elemental system brings. There's a good reason why most geo characters are such a niche.

Honestly I don't think any element should completely lack a reaction with the existing elements. It makes no sense from a game designed around the reactions. Even if not having reactions is a net benefit in the skill gap

on a diff video i commented that petrification shouldn't be a zhongli exclusive mechanic and could have a damaging interaction like shatter. You could even make it so zhongli specifically could apply unshatterable petrification but then introduce geo shatter dps's (of whatever the reaction/interaction would be called).

EM just does not effect geo in a meaningful way either, it only increases the strength of crystallize shields, which isn't much to write home about because there are characters who give actual shields.

Would like to see a geo healer with geo shred or buffer that gives a party wide dynamic def% buff. Kind of tired of the fact that Gorou is our only geo buffer and ZL the only source of geo shred, outside of geo res, nearly 3.5 years into the game. There are a lot of directions HYV can take with new geo units since there's still plenty geo teams could use as far as utility and mechanics are concerned, but with how frequently they release geo units, we'll be at Celestia's doorstep by the time we get another 2-3 geo units. Either they need to start releasing more geo units or really consolidate as best they can all the things geo needs into a select few, which would also kinda suck since those units would essentially become necessary for every geo comp, effectively destroying team diversity.

And when someone propose geo+dendro interaction to differentiate it, he says "people doesn't know what they want". And his solution is just to add more and more geo characters hoping new mechanics to come out of that instead of fixing the geo element itself

@@rzkrdn8650 New geo characters is what geo needs. There is a heavy dependency on Gorou for geo teams, but honestly, its just the geo constructs that we are given in geo. What lacks from geo characters that do have geo constructs is that we are punished for them breaking prematurely. I think we should be given geo constructs that behave like bear traps or those that are like pinatas. A conceptual pinata construct is a construct that rewards over time as being beaten around, but explodes into an array of benefits or other rewards when destroyed. So imagine Yaoyao's Yuegui as a geo construct. Geo yuegui heals active character. What happens if it breaks from an enemy stubbing its toe on it? The Yuegui malfunctions and does Yaoyao's burst, healing the team with nuke heals before collapsing. Like that, geo constructs just go overboard with their job if they get destroyed early, as if they malfunction and overclock. So a Duracell battery as a geo construct is Oz that explodes into energy when he expires or if broken by an enemy. Another example would be Guoba as a geo construct spitting out mineral dust, but when destroyed or expires, turns into Pyronado or I guess a Geonado. A crowd control geo construct is one that taunts when alive, petrifies surrounding enemies when destroyed or expired. The list goes on. It's the format of -incremental benefit when alive-, -huge benefit when overclocked or at end-of-life-.

I believe geo can be a very well used self concentrated element but I would like it to have at least one more elemental reaction and that's it and not for the use of damage but simple utility- petrification. Have it trigger on chance when crystallize occurs or when a geo attack hits an elemental shard and you have yourself some decent crowd control that isn't countered by obstacles that prevent freeze. But I think the best way that geo can be inert is geo constructs, but they are poorly implemented in its direction. It's fine that they are fragile, but we really could just use geo constructs that functions off of breaking like a bear trap. A bear trap doesn't fulfill its purpose until it snaps and a pitfall trap doesn't work until the faux ground collapses into the hole. We need geo constructs that are made to be destroyed. Basically Baron bunnies that do different tasks- a society of baron bunnies. Why not have a geo construct that heals periodically but heals the team when broken? Or a geo construct that taunts enemies but causes an implosion when destroyed? And what about the Thundering Fury of geo constructs- hitting an enemy lowers skill CD; breaking it resets the CD? I'm just saying that geo constructs would be fantastic if implemented right. It's what makes geo the most strategic element in itself. You have to know where to place, how far away to place it, and how to interact with it. The utopian geo construct team would allow me to booby trap the whole spiral abyss chamber. Bear traps and claymore mines left and right. Medical towers to the side and I can bait enemies into destroying it for emergency healing if needed. Geo constructs could be the strategic version of the bloom reactions. You plant your tower defense lineup whereas dendro cores spawn spontaneously wherever. It's quite the missed opportunity for geo. Rather than having us use geo constructs like gadgets, they are the basis of continuous damage and majority of kits which means being broken is honestly punishing rather than rewarding.

Look, I'll just drop my Geo rework idea again here. Geo being inert is dumb. We have physical. Albedo's flower is no longer terrain or blocks bosses but the entire area can resonate. Instead of being an elevator it becomes a jump pad unless you just stand on it for 2 seconds. Most Geo constructs resonate now. Zhongli improves resonance range and damage instead. Ningguang's E, instead of providing Geo damage for passing through it now instead increases the damage and velocity of friendly projectiles passing through it (and gives slightly better homing). She also doesn't have her burst spawn a jade underneath her so it's 50/50 on if it dies immediately or not. Geo+Hydro creates mud, slowing enemies for 25%. Geo+Pyro creates Lava, causing persistent burning in an area and slowing for 10%. Anemo can swirl Geo (Sandstorms, people) and VV retroactively works with Geo (I honestly think this is why they didn't make them react, but who cares?) Dendro+Geo ensnares smaller enemies in vines, preventing movement and dealing dendro over time. Larger enemies grow vines on themselves and simply take damage. Dendro Cores+Geo turns the Cores in to vines like Dendro Samachurls make. Geo+Cryo creates crystallize that fortifies existing shields and geo constructs. Additionally shields and constructs will do thorns damage upon being hit in melee. Ganyu's flower will be considered a Geo Construct but won't resonate on it's own and does not count towards the limit. The limit on constructs is increased by 2. Gorou's entire field is considered a construct and creates a patch of sand that can be reacted off of. Ushi does not create a resonance (as above rules) but will if struck by it. Geo and Electro do not react, in fact Geo will absorb (as in, nullify) electro damage. I made this idea before Navia but all you'd have to change is her trigger conditions for extra/empowered bullets. Frankly, just participating in Geo reactions is enough. Gorou would need a change too. But I have conflicting ideas on him. I think he needs a buff overall tbh. Edit: 3:00 This argument kind of falls flat when you remember crystallize does take aura away. So it's already doing a "reaction" it's just a terribly shitty one.

I think Crystalize is very badly utilized in Genshin. Practically none of the geo characters are designed to work well with it. We need a generic Gorou-like unit whose skills / burst turns crystalize shards into buffs for your team.

If Cryo and Electro didn't react, rather than have the shit Superconduct interaction that deals low damage and is only useful for 2 characters, both elements would be better off. People want interactions because it's easy to want without really considering what that implies.

The thing is geo has ZERO variation. I have used the EXACT same itto team ever since he has came out. If there was a reaction its gives a reason to actually change teams and play styles or at least a WHOLE bunch more geo units would help

They tried to make Geo an inert element so there can be some level of balance: Didn't work They tried to make Geo work with the rest of elements in a way they didn't have to redo the element entirely: Works They tried to make Geo inert again: Fails spectacularly I don't know what's Zajef's obession over Geo being such an useless element when he himself barely plays Geo, and his solutions fall into the absurdity, like it's no longer copium anymore, it's just stupidity by this point. Geo can't work alone because this is a gacha game first and foremost. Dedicating so many resources and primogems to a very exclusive team only for it to still be behind other teams that don't even require as much investment as Mono Geo. It can't even exist without Gorou so again, the fact that his whole reasoning of Geo being inert solely relies on a single character, that's not good. It is very telling that you can have a lot more things surrounding Physical Teams, like say, adding a Dendro to Aggravate the Electro, or a Hydro to Electrocharge and Shatter/Freeze, all on top of your Physical DMG. That the non Elemental DMG has better elemental interactions than its yellow counterpart is dumb, to be honest. Geo doesn't need to be relegated to such mediocre state, and I believe adding interactions with Dendro will bring more positive changes than negative. Hell, adding more interactions with the rest of elements would be nice as well. Have Crystallize stack, or have it explode after picking up another shard, or literally have a Geo Nilou, would be way better than continue to force Geo only work with itself.

I share this sentiment regarding the reaction between elements, having one that is just that simple is good. BUT, they should really try to improve the ones that we have and are seriously struggling, so we have a better experience using them overall, and open more interesting comps, the game is about characters. Shatter, super conduct and crystallize are the ones that would only benefit from having something extra or numbers adjusted. Make it so characters in those reaction archetypes can benefit from elemental mastery. Burning does benefit but the other side of dendro reactions with hydro is overwhelmingly strong that is never desired. Overload and electro charge are just unreliable, no idea how to make them more reliable without breaking them.

I think making Geo the mono element is boring. If no additional reactions, at the very least Geo needs alternatives to reactions because their is no getting around it except raw damage which is also boring. Gorou should just be on par with Bennett in raw healing. His flag should have been a construct. Geo also needs a group healer to take advantage of Furina. Albedo's construct should be invincible. Reactions Geo can do should be buffed. No reason why Anemo and Dendro shouldn't crystallize. It wouldn't mess with Dendro's triad lore. Need Shatter to do good damage as well. Yunjin is also a weird one because the small amount of normal attackers, there isnt a lot of teams even on Geo she fits into. She's super niche.

I don't think geo needs other elemental reactions as it can honestly obstruct teams that already use geo. So rather than elemental reactions, it needs its own variety of tools, and to that, it is geo constructs. What we get are geo constructs that are only useful during its lifespan and it gets punished when cut short outside of Itto's Ushi which gets superlative superstrength stacks on fleeing. So why not just have geo constructs that fulfill different roles which reward you if they are broken? For example, a giant battery can be a geo construct. It would basically behave like Oz, but when the construct is destroyed, it explodes dealing damage, and you are given a lot of energy. Or we can have a landmine as a geo construct. It would taunt enemies and when enemies hit it enough times or step on it, it explodes and leaving DoT marks. We could also have a geo construct that basically works like yuegui, but if the geo Yuegui gets broken, it just nuke heals your team. What the problem with geo constructs is is that we are punished for their destruction when we could have rewards if they are destroyed. It would give flexibility to either go for immediate benefits or play the waiting game and get the gradual benefits before the big prize of the end-of-life benefits from a geo construct expiring.

geo is not the mono element. a geo onfielder wants to have at least 2 to maximize damage, but the only mono geo unit is itto. navia wants 2 geo 2 crystalize, yunjin arguably doesnt want geo teammate, and albedo doesnt even care where hes put into. Itd at least be excusable a year ago because the only geo dps was itto and he can only be played in a 3 geo comp, but navia is here now and yall are still pretending mono geo is the only team for geo units ever? also, anemo dps like scara/xiao is pretty much a mono element dps, but I dont see yall saying anything about them. its almost like none of you play geo and are just parroting dumbass ccs

Adding the earth element to the plant element seems so easy idk why it wasn't done. Imagine EM geo used as a "plant" or "ferment" reaction (name pending) which boosts its next dendro reaction. Either bloom or aggravate. Farmer Kaveh with Albedos skill and hydro app sounds so fun

There is already dendro geo interaction, its called zhongli. Geo is element physical and should be kept that way. The problem of geo is called Gorou, that almost nobody has C6 and you want C6, its like Faruzan.
