After a bit of a hiatus, I'm back! I really loved reading this book and was amazed at how relatable I found Anne. This is a profound book, and I was glad to find that it's profound not only because of what happened to its author, but because of how truly remarkable its author was in life. Anne's intelligence, wit, longing, empathy, and curiosity fill every page.

I need to read this book. I also can't believe we never read it in school! Such a shame. After visiting the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam, I was deeply moved by her story and now the book is the next step!

Amanda Burrows So we both did it backwards! I wish I’d read it before visiting the house. It would have really brought to life all of Anne’s descriptions of the annexe. I’ll have to go back one day. Definitely read the book, it’s breathtaking.

I appreciated the emphasis on her self-awareness and capacity for reflection. Pretty remarkable for her age. I feel like we're all a little terrified of ourselves, and terrified of others seeing us in our full unvarnished truth. I come from folks where so many meaningful bits go unspoken. In my estimation it is slow-motion collective tragedy. 'Name it to tame it', as I heard somebody recently say. I wish I had half her candor at that age.

I just finished reading it . Anne frank was so smart . I was astonishing when I knew that she wrote this dairy at the age of 14-15 . Her thoughts were so deep, and me as a 20yo I could see myself through them . She didn’t lie when she said that she felt like she wasn’t a teenager but a woman . She was wise beyond her years. Rest in peace sweet soul .

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.” Wow. I feel like she looked inside me and expressed my feelings about being outside and nature better than I understood myself. When people ask me why I hike or jog outside so much, I didn’t know how to explain it before; now I will be able to share this with them. It’s also nice to know we share this connection because I found you on Instagram hiking the AT. You did great by the way. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us.

Austin Madison she really did have a way with words! She expressed things so beautifully. We’ve all heard a lot of writing about how wonderful nature is, but this is particularly nice. Thanks for watching!

This was beautiful. Thank you so much for doing this. I appreciate how much you respect her and the things you pointed out; this very relatable but extraordinary young girl with huge potential to bring so much to the world and humanity. I would really recommend getting Anne Frank: The Collected Works. It's an incredible book and shows Anne's original text from the manuscripts, as well as the definitive text and her other lesser known writings and family letters, and the publication history into the legacy of her work. I can see you love this writer and her mark on the world, so would really recommend you get this one. Thanks again :)

I felt like being silent too, once i finished those last few sentences of the book. It's haunting, very haunting. I never expected to relate to Anne Frank as much as i did throughout the piece, now i massively respect her as a human being. Thanks for this video.

Wow...this is the first video on your channel I have found and I find you immensely relatable. Your perspectives on Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl are quite similar to what I have taken from that remarkable book 📖. I have lived encumbered with severe, clinical depression since childhood. Thank you for sharing those details about your depression. It can be so utterly crippling. Also, I noticed your attire said "I am." Is that a Sylvia Plath reference and where can I find it. I possess an unhealthy preoccupation with Peter Pan collars. 🥺💙

I'm so sorry you also have to live with depression. It can feel so lonely. The full text on the jumper is "I am a poem", but I wore it for my Bell Jar video because it makes me think of Sylvia Plath! It's from Miss Patina. You can check out their website, I'm not sure they have this jumper anymore, but they have plenty of Peter Pan collars! :D

This was my first book I ever read in the 70s in Elementary school. I think I read it a few times actually I didn't own many books back than. It's a touching story and I seen the two movies which were fairly historically accurate. Nothing beats the book though of course. Most honest autobiographies generally are though. Thank you for the fantastic childhood memory for me!

I have always wanted to visit the house they lived in. I was astonished to see how you described your experience. I think your channel deserves more views. This video was hidden deep due to the algorithm and I found myself lucky that I've found it.

You said that you did not really want to present your own thoughts on this book, and I can understand why this is the case, but you nonetheless said some things and I am glad that you did, because these thoughts would not come naturally to me. I, too, wish that I would have read this book in my most formative years.

I too am astonished at the classics that I wasn’t required to read or somehow escaped me in my youth. I’m checking them off my bucket list now and perhaps appreciating them more at this later chapter of my life.

The most sad part is that seeing that her family is dead one by one and there was no help to save her from the concentration camps she lost all hope to survive and died JUST 2-3 weeks BEFORE the British came to free the camp.

We all have heard and read about Anne Frank (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6P4XSnDyUQ4.html) but not about this Hiroshima born Sadako - a lively and athletic 11 year old - who became a victim of "atomic bomb disease". I especially appreciate the way we come to know Sadako and what a giving, selfless person she is. I strongly recommend this as required reading for the young generation, which will hopefully be more capable of empathy and imagination.
