You are right, some of it is too far!!People sometimes don't like you for no apparent reason at all. Communication is really important. In our current society, treating people with kindness is not done nearly enough!! I agree we can't control all aspects of our life. It is good to accept constructive criticism. The book was pretty good. It makes you think and you did a good critique of it!! Enjoy California !!!

No Country for Old Men is my favorite book. The author wanted to create a villian that embodied pure evil. It just so happens that villian had a system he wouldn't deviate from. I believe systems work until they don't.
