Thoughts on the Pearl Slant - CC2 Smoked Cedar & Leather 

Agreed! Parker Slant was the first slant razor I truly loved! The Timeless slant is the current favorite, but that Parker will always have a place on my shelf. Thanks for weighing in!

It was an excellent shave, and the soap-only aftershave worked like a charm! How have you been getting on with the soaps if you don’t mind me asking? I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like the timeless! You didn’t like the Parker slant which I love, and didn’t like the timeless slant which I love, maybe it’s time to start doing the opposite of me 😂 I love a razor and you know to stay away! I hate it and you jump right on and buy one! I’ll give the maggard slant head a shot at some point, as I want to do the “beginner kit” shave a try.

@@ColletteClassic LOL. I have yet to try the other ones. Bought too many things too soon and sadly we can only shave once a day 🤪. Tried Stirling Barbershop for the first time (my first use of a Stirling product). Being underwhelmed is an understatement. Your CC1 is much better. Maybe I took too little of that Stirling soap. Will try again next week. Plan to try a CC2 soap tomorrow. I’ll report back.

Wow! Love to hear the positive feedback on my soap, and I absolutely cannot wait to hear what you think of the CC1 vs CC2, but I can't help but wonder if another rep with the Stirling is needed to really get a feel for it. I've never been one to talk badly about a competitor simply because they're a competitor. I know Stirling soaps are very thirsty soaps, so did you find that it didn't take as much water as you were expecting, or that it just wasn't that slick?

Gotcha. I'm not certain the scent will improve with more soap, but the body/density should. I hope you have better luck with it next time. Maybe try the ratio I used today?

Hey thanks for weighing in! This is some good info about this style of razor, and I’m sure we all appreciate it. I have since, given this razor to my brother to try and he seems to enjoy it. Like you said, it’s very easy to have this razor shave identical to a “normal” razor. Thanks again!

I think it's easier to find "the angle" with the Pearl since it "sets" it for you, and the window of that ideal angle is bigger. That being said, the Timeless Slant, once you are used to it, shaves smoother. It's hard to compare since the Pearl is SS with a zinc head for $20 and the Timeless is all Aluminum, cnc machined, but for $55. I hope you do! The scent lineup is becoming more and more established with certain staple scents at this point, and this is one of them. That being said, Alison and I love experimenting with new fragrances, and will continue to bring scents in and out as time goes on. I'd like to not have 5 different barbershop scents, 3 different almond scents, 2 different bay rum scents, etc, but it is always fun to try new things.
