@@nine291 never said it was. Why do you assume that i like war? At least don't think that I am a brute please. I can remove the comment if you really want to but please do not assume that anyone would find war cool🙏
The thousand yard stare is when the brain has seen such a traumatic event that even after it’s done, the brain is still trying to understand and recover from the massive amount of trauma that has been experienced.
this should be a pinned comment - it explains _everything_ in simple terms, compared to all the other comments giving long. technical, and literal definitions of "the 1k stare"... very well put 🙌🏼👏🏻

And in the cases where the fight is actually against evil, the soldiers volunteer bcuz if they don't, there's no one else to do so.
@@leduckified1534 bro every source of this video states that it's a ukranian soldier. In the video those men including the muddied guy are in jolly and high spirits. The face also very closely resembles nekoglai but if you got any evidence that shows otherwise feel free to share it.

@@heavygamingupwardenjoyer1834 and lastly, that's a russian tank. If it is a Ukrainian tank, sure, whatever. But it still isn't nekoglai.

@@afix3102 are you a military? Did you ever fight in any shooting combat? Did you ever work so hard that you can barely see things around and breathe? Or at least stayed awake for 2 or 3 days while working hard?? Not every tired stare from soldiers is the "1000 yard stare", little trend follower... specially during their missions, their shift, incursions, etc... Don't be a blind and brainless trend follower, go study the subject before saying things like "do you know what it means"
@@_Magnvs.Ambrosivs_ Bro why you Got mad? I was saying that the "1000 yard stare" is something that soldiers do when they have killed or have seen innocent people be killed during the war
@@afix3102 where did you see me get mad? You literally ignored everything i said and just told me, from a layman perspective, what it means. Do i need to explain that I'm telling you that's not any stare but a tired soldier one? And again, are you a military?? What's your experience in armed conflicts?
for peoples who don't know... The thousand yards stare started during ww2... Soldiers that has PTSD aka Post Traumatic stress disorder has the thousand yards stare. It will start to develop if you saw something traumatic like getting your friends killed over and over again... You will have the thousand yards stare... It's easy to spot someone that has it since someone that has that has a widened shocked eyes just like the poster
I would say it was present throughout a lot of wars pre WW2, but when it became common was WW1 seeing your school friends being crushed by tanks burned by flamethrowers whilst being ordered to run into machine gun fire for absolutely no reason is bound to mess someone up, especially a kid.
Yea it didn’t START in WWII what humans were different somehow even decades before that? NOPE that look comes from MASSIVE TRAUMA…..doesn’t even need to be war, & you don’t have it permanently OBVIOUSLY it happens usually right after an event but can reoccur when having flashbacks of the horrific event….so MANY MEN in EVERY WAR EVER FOUGHT……had this 1,000 yard stare….which IM SURE they called it something different 🙄😂🤡🤷🏼♀️ I mean COME ON you didn’t think about this even A LITTL BIT before you posted that nonsense? If you knew history at all you’d know this is talked about through many centuries and 1,000s of years ago….it was vague in terms tho…. “O yea war only got nightmarish violent in the last 80yrs before that they’d laugh while slaughtering people and seeing atrocities everyday ” see how ignorant that sounds! 😂🤣

its not what he did see, its what he didn’t see, he saw things no person would evel like to see. He saw people shot, blown to shreds and many die in every way possible, he is traumatised from what hes seen, and will never forget
This is called panic induced disassociation where your brain basically "locks up" in a sense to protect itself from something traumatic, mostly happens to soldiers after experiencing/seeing something that causes the brain to experience severe stress. This can last for hours up to years and even the rest of someone's life. When in this state, your brain tries to "disconnect" from reality, often known as "Zoning out", but mostly with the mind blank.
I think of this quote often when thinking of war or when people ask why a war is being fought. It's one of the best written and delivered lines in GTA as a whole.
For people who don’t know the thousand yard stare: The thousand-yard stare (also referred to as two-thousand-yard stare, combat shock, or shell shock) is a phrase often used to describe the blank, unfocused gaze of combatants who have become emotionally detached from the traumatizing things around them.
You can also get this from having an abusive child hood for all the forms of abuse ptsd you don’t necessarily have to been in a war to get the symptoms
