I do exactly this, I am disabled and relatively housebound and I live in the middle of nowhere so I leave my garden alone and nature uses the space. I have rabbits that live permanently in my garden and deer visit daily. Bees and butterfly’s. Then there are all the birds that are attracted by the rabbits. Owls and birds of prey. Wild flowers everywhere. It’s wonderful. Not to mention how much my 2 cats love to sit at my big picture windows and watch all the wildlife for hours. They are indoor cats and only go outside with supervision so it’s their TV lol. All around the village everything is as nature wants it, not more than a few feet from my fence line, but there are still those narrow minded fools that complain about my little garden not being manicured. Makes no sense.

This was not about climate change but against the deliberate geo engineering of our weather ,the damaging chem trails the poisons they are using to spray crops - its about healing the earth our good is grown in as at the moment most foods are toxic.

I'm returning from this event I can answer this. Those of us who want to achieve change and achieve a better environment for future generations have to work within the current system, otherwise we would never be able to achieve change. I'm quite happy since scientific and medical research shows very clearly that progressives tend on average to score higher personality dimension called openness to experience associated with intelligence and sometimes called intellect. Our detractors will have the opposite traits, and are therefore prone to asking silly questions lacking the mental capacity to realise that they are in fact silly.

I mean, given that people are attending a march about the environment by definition have a strong interest in the environment, they are the most likely demographic to be conscious of their carbon footprint of getting there. Similarly I suspect you'll find the amount of litter left was very low.

Most people involved in climate and ecological crisis protest are mindful of impacts . Pollution and oil have been allowed to become embedded in every aspect of life. We have been encouraged to consume no matter what. We are changing those systems so we mostly don't need cars, and plastic is replaced,oil is replaced. The lovely coast where I lived now has no fulmars nesting in the cliffs, the rock pools are empty. They used to be full of sea anemones, starfish, and shrimp, and the rocks covered in different types of seaweed. They are barren because of rising sea temperatures. We are the6-7th richest country in the world? Yet our basic infrastructure is failing,look at what's happening with the water companies.
