Thrashing a 1985 Honda TRX250 FourTrax!! | Mudding, Drifting, Creek Crossing’s, Fly-By's & More!

In todays video, Jaxon and I rip on his 1985 Honda TRX250 FourTrax! As you will see in the video, this thing is a tank, and is surprisingly fast being a 250CC four-stroke utility quad from 1985. In this video we hit the mud hole twice, the first time was a fail but the second time we made it to the end and back, with a little pushing (it needs new tires). We also do a lot of drifting and Jaxon tries to pull off a 360. There's some super cool creek crossing shots in today's video as well. Now the fly-by's on the other hand, those are my favorite because you can then see just how fast this quad is for what it is. We hope you enjoy today's video!

These ‘85-‘87 Fourtrax 250s are badass bulletproof tanks. You can just give it to ‘er and she’ll ask for more. Granted their top speed is kinda slow..but what do you expect for a 36 year old quad? These things fly through the trails, go up literal walls and with the a good set of tires and the right operator they’ll go places a 4x4 won’t because they’re lighter! If you think you’re stuck- think again..with some throttle action and you pushing she’ll come right on out the swamp. I have had mine buried up to the frame, rear diff completely under and water over my knees..pin the throttle and push & she came on out. I plan to restore mine and get a fleet of them. I have been around ATVS all my life from mild to wild..my two favorites are these ‘85-‘87 Fourtrax and the ‘82-‘87 Suzuki LT125 / LT185.

I just bought an 86 for $300 and it absolutely amazed me! Then it randomly started reving really high I'm gonna clean up the carb and I'm sure it'll be ready for another 36 years lol

Thanks man! Your Foreman sounds pretty awesome as well, I’ve always loved the older 300’s and 350 Foreman’s like yours, but yeah they really are tanks, you can’t kill an old Honda haha!

I picked up an 85 that’s been sitting under a friends deck for years. Been sitting so long the petcock was clogged up and carb was nasty, float needle was stuck I had to pry it out. Cleaned it all up with carb cleaner and fresh gas in a spray bottle and it fired up first kick! Lol I was tickled

Cool man I got one 1984 model been in a hedgerow for many years rims are rotten rusted chassis no starter no choke put fresh fuel in and it fired up 5th kick! But it's stuck in reverse 😕 I will keep trying to free it up 👍

I got a set of 26 inch mudbugs on the back of mine and the thing is unstoppable. Goes more places than 4x4's do with mud lites on them.

Somehow honda made these little 250s crank out 19.5 hp very surprising considering the warrior is only 19 and the 300ex is 18

Yeah it is pretty crazy, we’re doing some engine work to this quad right now to make even more power. We’ll be posting that on here soon.

Great video! I have the same one but mine won’t go into reverse, I know about the parking break thing, any ideas on what commonly breaks on them to cause this? Thanks

I’m not sure, this one has never not went into reverse. Maybe check the parking break cable? If all of that is still in tact it may be deeper and be something with your shift forks in the transmission.

Cable might be seized. Try manually pulling the mechanism on the engine while shifting it.
