On offense, I could actually see Carroll and Noel combining for more production than Cody Schrader. They are both 1000 yard rushers at the Group of 5 level, and Noel played in a similar running scheme at Appalachian State. With additions like Marcus Bryant and Cayden Green on the offensive line and everyone else returning, the line will open some running lanes. On defense, I think Dreyden Norwood and Toriano Pride will be a very solid cornerback duo. I would expect Kahlil Jacobs to make a major impact at linebacker. He played for Batoon at South Alabama, and Alabama was targeting him in the transfer portal. Triston Newson and Chuck Hicks also played well down the stretch when Hopper was injured last season. On the line, I think there are a lot of solid pieces, but the real question mark is Williams Nwaneri. If he's ready to play as a true freshman, his talent elevates the defense. I also have the A&M game circled as probably the most important game of the season. It would mean a relatively likely 7-0 start and a lot of momentum. It's not the end of the season if we don't beat A&M, but that means you must take at least one of Alabama and Oklahoma and win everything else.
