Cliff was awesome. His formal music training really came to help the band. He introduced his bandmates to harmony. And he was not a conventional bass player as he used it as a lead instrument. I would recommend Orion from Master Of Puppets with the bass boosted. It's an instrumental but Cliff's soul is in it.

This warms my heart. It is so awesome to see the younger generation that actually like music that is done on REAL INSTRUMENTS!!! Most people these girls age are listening to music that is done with virtual "fake computer programmed" instruments, & the vocals are almost completely auto tuned. I have always said, Rock & Roll needs fresh blood. I get excited when I see a young kid with a Guitar, or a t shirt of a Rock band. You young ladies are AWESOME for noticing REAL instrumental talent!!! Subscriber for life!!! YOU ROCK!!!

Metallica was the band that made me become a musician. When I heard the song "One" my mind was blown but yet I was terrified at the same time because of the video and the meaning of the song. They are the most important band to me because of that. I now play guitar, bass, drums, and sing. I don't think I ever would have done it if they wouldn't have inspired me the way they did. My favorite song would probably be The Frayed Ends of Sanity, but it's really hard to pick just one because I love literally their entire discography. I was lucky enough to see them 3 times and it was epic every single time. Can't wait to go again! Also I'm very excited to see your journey through music and see what you think of albums such as Load and Reload which are very misunderstood and heavily criticized. What I love about Metallica is that they weren't afraid to be different and they made some awesome songs because of that even if some people are too close minded to appreciate them.

Back in the 80's James didn't do vocal exercises, he just belted it out. He started doing vocal exercises in the early 2000's because he started having problems singing after a few months on tour. My favorite Metallica song is Creeping Death. Creeping Death is based on the plagues brought down on Pharaoh in the Old Testament.

Cliff Burton, the virtuoso of the bass guitar... He is pretty much unmatched in skill and prowess on the instrument. We were robbed hard when that bus tipped over in Sweden. Cliff would have shown us a new world of bass guitar, one we may now never see. He was one of a kind and even still 30 years after his passing people are trying to emulate him and only scratch at the surface of what was his skill level. The other Metallica bass players are no slouches, but even they struggle with Cliff's stuff let alone the way he improvised on top of the original bass lines when they were playing live... Rest in peace mr Burton! You will be missed forever...

You have talent, then you have great talent, then you have legend, then you have Cliff Burton who is on a diffrent level entirely. Classically trained, his famous solo - Anesthesia (pulling teeth) he starts his solo by pulling a Jimmy Hendrix ( legend in his own right ) and ends his solo by pulling a Joe Satriani ( another legend in his own right ) - all on a bass guitar with no pick - R.I.P. Clifford Lee Burton 💔😢

Next time I saw Metallica was Oct. 31, 1986 in Vancouver Canada with Metal Church opening, it was their first show back after his death continuing the cancelled Master Of Puppets shows opening for Ozzy. Producer Bob Rock was the bass player, Jason Newsted started playing on the tour a week later. Bob also played rhythm guitar after James suffered burns from a pyro accident on tour, he could be considered an un-official member of the band. RIP Cliff

Cliff Burtons hometown created a holiday on his birthday. Every year there is a festival called Shake The Pillars Of Heaven. Fun Fact: the bass Cliff is playing is an Aria Pro II that was sold in stores back in the day for around $300. He added a better bridge and pickup. Proof that you dont need ridiculously expensive gear to be a great player. The magic is in your fingers, heart and soul. Btw, not many people know this but this song was actually a poem written during the Revolutionary War.

I’ve seen Metallica twice. Phenomenal both times. For Whom the Bell Tolls is one that the crowd goes NUTS for. Great reaction too. I also got Lars Ulrich’s signature on a picture of him. Best Christmas present ever! I’ve been a Metallica fan for almost 8 years so I can’t pick a favorite song... too many. But if I had to pick some of their more underrated songs, I would pick these. (I would check these out too. They’re great.) Fight Fire With Fire (Live in Mexico City, 2009) ...And Justice For All (Live in Seattle, 1989) Bleeding Me The Outlaw Torn (S&M Orchestral Version, 1999) The Unforgiven 2 Here Comes Revenge The Thing That Should Not Be (Live in Seattle, 1989) All Nightmare Long Trapped Under Ice The Unforgiven 3 Of Wolf and Man No Remorse Disposable Heroes (Live in Mexico City, 2009) The Call of Ktulu (S&M Orchestral Version, 1999) Stay METAL. 🤘

Lol u girls r crazy, but in a good funny way. AND I was at that concert in 1985 at Oakland Coliseum. I was 15yrs old.... My son is a big Metallica fan, and he was lucky enough to get picked through Metallica's fan website to b in a Metallica music video that was filmed in Oakland California. We live about 45 minutes from Oakland. The song of the video that he was in is called "Halo on Fire". My son along with about 50 or 60 other Metallica fans were picked to b in it. All he had to do was submit a couple pictures of himself. And few days later they emailed him saying that he is one of the chosen ones to b in video. He got to meet the band. It was like a dream come true for him lol. Jus thought u girls would liked to hear that story. Keep up the good work girls.

Make sure to check out Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) 1983 if you really want to see Cliff slay that bass like nobody's business. Such an amazing solo.
