This week on The Horti-Culturalists we take a close look at one of Stephen's major borders that is at the main entrance to his garden. In planning this border Stephen considered three main points: seasonal succession, different foliage form and lastly a colour theme for flowering plants. Looking at those three principals we've followed the border through the year to mark the major changes from season to season and get an understanding of the complexity of the planning involved to maintain interest throughout the year. And gardening is forever a work in progress so we'll also look at things that haven't worked and long term plans for the future!
