This is UK artist Ben Node's visual response to 'Three kinds of dawn' from the album Noumena. I've known Ben for a number of years though London / Kent DIY gigs but have also been aware of his video experiments over the years for his band Lawn Flamingo and now as solo electronic experimentalist Ben Nodes.
Words from Ben:
"I like to combine digital and analogue workflows as a part of my process. I programmed a series of audio-reactive colourful shapes which I then ran through a Tachyons+ (circuit bent video processor from the 90s). I adjusted this live giving it more of an analogue feel. I then edited the video in software making a few minor tweaks and cutting it to the original track.
I wanted to match the raw analogue style of the music and the slow meandering of the track in how the visual slowly morphs. To me the track sounds like a memory, but one that is vivid so I wanted to reflect that in bright saturated colours."
