This is a real great reality check on projects. I think we get ahead of ourselves and underestimate everything you've just highlighted. Nothing that can't be overcome, but this is a great reminder of the hurdles we'll likely face. Good stuff! :)

Yep! I'm sure you face similar things when I do too when doing YT videos! There have been so many weeks where I have had to do alternative projects because I was wrong in my original time estimate.

Good stuff as always Smackey! Quick tid-bit of advice on that Blaster set up. Pressure means very little with them, Volume (cfm) & Air Recovery Rates are King! We moved our set up closer to the compressor and feed it with a 1/2" line (instead of the 3/8's) and it turned an hour job into a 15min job with even flow of "sand". I know for sure, that you will get it sorted out, and it will work great.

Hey BareRose! Thanks for the tip! Might be worth me doing what you did and T-ing off the regulator with a 1/2 diameter hose. Hope all is well!

Great video brother. All good pointers, especially for younger people I think. I follow these pretty much already, although I didn't realize it. Lol

Great info and definitely resonates. I would add that assessing the state of the vehicle before you start will keep you sane later on. I this going to be 1 year of work, or 5. A seller bragging about all the custom stuff they did under the hood, and you look under the vehicle and because they ripped on that engine, they completely destroyed the stock suspension. That information about how the PO treated their car will inform you of other hidden problems YOU WILL encounter. I guarantee that oil will be dark as hell when you drain it, weird wiring all over the place, gauges that don't work, etc etc etc.

That's a great tip about assessing the state of a car before you start. Also a great tip about all the custom stuff done to the car. No one is going to take as good of a car or modify it to your level of standards. Wiring, as you said is another mess. People just tuck it and make it work rather than make sure it doesn't rattle and is protected.

Very sage and applicable advice that I use all the time. Small wins will equal a victory or a garage sale. LOL

Wow. Noice! 🥝✔️ I only have three laws. 1. I'm interested in Big Inch FE Mustangs, 2. OHV V8 mid engined kit cars, and 3. any servicing tool that is used in their upkeep. When engineers design target surface texture stipulations and have additional advanced cost saving techniques to produce them at birth, you are the Final Fall guy when it comes time to service them. No Goodness, Quickness or Cheap options exist for you, then end user. Just be glad you don't need the 23 service tools you need to rebuild a 96 RAV4.1 Right Hand Drive 3SGE and Right hand drive SOHC Explorer 98 4WD timing chain. A small win for those two cars, using your laws, could be 70 hours of work verses the 35 hours of book time, and 5000 dollars New Zealand, verses the 2500 dollars of book cost, and then telling my partner, " No darling, I'm Not an idiot, its just that the Time and Cost have just gone up by twice because those two costs of service are twice the cost of the car. "

Those are some good laws. Big Inch FE mustangs are where it is at. Good point about the texture built into to panels you are the one that has to live with them when they actually need something. Hard to match. That's crazy on the amount of tools you need for the RHD cars. It's funny that I tell my partner the same thing you would and most of the time I end up being close. Some days it is hard to put that much time and money into a car that exceeds the value the cost of the car. With parts becoming harder to find I worry they will get more expensive.
