9:10 7 out of 10 verdict. Very close. Smooth and no after taste, but less body than Guinness. Sounds like a great brew!

Another great video Graham, learning a lot from you. I’ve made a couple of different stouts and nitro style beers. One thing I’m finding is as the level of the beer drops in the keg, the level of creaminess goes up. It’s not a massive problem as it settles overtime, but left with a bigger head that I’d like. Keg fridge sitting at 4 degrees, 70/30 mix at 36 psi should I be turning the gas off at night? Any tips appreciated 👍
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
Delighted you are enjoying my videos and learning as we go on . Yep I have the solution for you mate this also happens to me from time to time . So when you notice it happing disconnect your gas post or just turn it off . Enjoy a few pints 😉 then when the pressure goes down give the keg a little shake in the standing up position no need to go mad . This will release a bit of the carbonation from the stout try it again and then turn back on your gas . What happens is the stout is slightly over carbonating because it’s so cold it’s absorbing too much nitro . Easy fix hope that helps cheers and happy brewing 🍻

Hi Graham, what do you think is the best Guinness clone recipe you’ve done? I’m about to put 40l on and was intending to do similar to the Malt Miller recipe from the Big Book of clone beers. I’d also recommend putting your recipe in the brew posts. Thanks.

Alright mate I am not 100% I would need to go back threw my records. I have brewed so many over the last few years . But this stout is not far off it , I have 2 new ones cold crashing I have adjusted recipes fingers crossed they will be closer

No that helps a load will minimise o2 exposeure thanks. do u hook the the nitro mix gas in advance of serving a few days before like a beer, and the creamer tip for the tap I saw in one of your other vids where do u get them, sorry for all the questions not on any FB groups and first time doing a stout
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 11 месяцев назад
Yes you need to carbonate it first then serve with nitro/co2 mix . You can see how to do that in my force carbonation video and any issue you might run into is answered in the comments of that video including a second way to carbonate it and problem solving. But if you have a different issue just ask . It’s a creamer nozzle you need to get for serving stout ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gUvAobBkMPI.htmlsi=18k6GIXjTGIGRJAo

What Klarstein model are you using for your brewing? Any drawbacks with it?... Am trying to find a good all-grain system that doesn't break the bank. Cheers

It’s a 30ltr system mate and it’s very cheap . But I have moved up to a Brewmonk b70 . That’s a 65ltr system with recirculating Pump, plus other features . The Klarstein served me well and I will still used it from time to time .

Hi Graham, Ive just got a mixed gas regulator and currently fermenting a guinness clone (3 days in only). Ive just got a quick question, i have got some 70/30 gas and im just wondering what pressure you set it to?? Ive previously done stouts on my co2 and set the regulator to about 7psi and its ok, but its not been on nitro/co2 mix. Cheers mate and happy brewing!!!
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
Alright Craig if you set your reg for 37psi you should be good and do t forget you will need a creamer nozzle for your tap . Hope your stout turns out great cheers 🍻

Looks great Graham, what kind of adjustments would you be thinking to give it more body
@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227
To be honest probably only some lactose to give a slight bit more body and mouthfeel. It’s really good but think it might just give it that bit extra

@barrykeane8721 if you want to ferment in your fermzilla with a blow off tube instead of spunding valve you can pressurize after cold crash and do a closed transfer. Does that help or what way are you fermenting?
