This is a “Black Reticle Box”. The specific plastic used is super hardened and very sturdy. .. perfect for an acoustic instrument!! The piezo was salvaged from an old smoke detector and there are two springs mounted on the neck inside the box to provide a nasty trashy reverb sound. This instrument is very inspiring and fun to play … seriously!!! oh my gosh !!! 😎

Be careful with collecting old smoke detectors with Americium-241. Somebody might think one might be making something a little “louder” than a cigar box guitar. Just sayin’ Del. Lol

17:15 - 18:00 sounds like 'grunge' rock, like something Curt Kobain might come up with. Maybe because palm mutes are used a lot in 'grunge' rock, and the battery bridge sounds like palm muting...?

Dude, where do you get those reticle boxes… are they Intel exclusives?? The Vader looks and sounds mighty terrific!! 19:07 ... I gotta slow the video down by half and learn that tune!! Very cool tune!! I spy a small cutaway body in the windowsill... got plans for that?! I'm in Israel at the moment, I made a cbg for one of my archaeology dig colleagues and gave it to him here (he loves it!!), but I made a big mistake !!! I didn't bring one along for myself!! 😭

you can get magnetic coil pickups from power bricks (the ones you use for phones and tv's and such) very easily as well!

Dell, I agree with Mr A…. You could make a guitar out of most anything and I’m always blown away by your talents playing the three string! Geesh, since I play a six string, I thought building the three string would be the hardest part of my three string journey ….. Haa Haa …. Built it (thanks to your videos) ….. Now I’m trying to play it, not coming as natural as I thought it would! Not giving up tho! Thanks for everything Del!
