Brian, the peso rate drops during the Christmas holidays because millions of Filipinos overseas send money home as aid and/or gifts to their relatives and friends. Billions of dollars enter the economy thereby increasing the dollars in circulation which then leads to a drop in the exchange rate. I hope this helps. Love your channel and I’ve been a subscriber since your early days as a vlogger. For what it’s worth, I’ve found you to be a lot more credible than people like Tim K. More power to you!

That’s the military retiree. My adoptive father lives here in Angeles. 30 year Navy retiree, VA disability, and collecting SS. Owns his house and lot and enjoys life here. My birth father is a 20 year Army retiree, VA disability, and SS. He’s originally from the Philippines but lives in San Diego. He owns property here in the Philippines.

Brian great view point. I’ll say this I been in the 🇵🇭 for over a month now traveling around and there is not a shortage of foreigners. Everywhere I go I have seen so many. I was in AC for 2 weeks and they keep coming. I’ll be back in AC in a week or so as well. I always appreciate and enjoy your videos they are very much informative. I always recommend them to my greenhorn friends who plan to visit the 🇵🇭. Thanks for sharing ✌🏾.

The reason why dollar drops in christmas season is because a lot of ofw (overseas filipino workers) send a lot of dollar remittances. Around 10% of filipinos work/live abroad.

Brian not all the time I came angeles for a long weekend from Puerto galera..staying at the hotel above Camelot club...one night I went to the Atlantis club just for one for the road ..and a waitress approached me and asked where I stayed I asked her why ..she said her and her waitress friend can come to your room after work if you want ..I said I won't give you my hotel till you phone me after your work ..I gave her my number anyways long story short...there is no security at the hotel above Camelot..and was settling in for the night when a knock on the door ..and sure enough there was 2 waitress from Atlantis..❤ I won't bore you with the details that night ..but it works both ways ...love yer vids Brian from a brit in Puerto Galera

I always went there (85' - 2011), as a Sailor (navy merchant or work near Phil) for "R & R" / Fun (to Blow off steam / "Work Hard Play hard was the motto".. (For me & a lot of guys) it Was more about "Barhopping; Drinking, and Filipinas & a lot of laughs .. "Eat Drink & be Merry / The whole nine yards' at "unbelievable" Bargain Basement Prices (the best bang for your buck) (at least back in the day) .. It was always "the Whole Pkg" .. By 2- 3 wks "it got old" .. Spent a winter once (40 yrs old).. I got "So Bored" .. I was Taken aback / Was not 'liking AC, last time there (at 50) in 2011 .. Turned into such a "Tourist Trap" (& Strictly Business) & "Cut throat" (dangerous) 2011 .. "Internet / RU-vid Tourists" (and Asians with money no offense lol) "ruined it" ..

We settle here for convenience. Airport, good good foods, grocery, good internet. Hospitals and jump off point to any other island. Plus almost immune to typhoon damage do safe to build a house here. Walking street is a joke.

I remember, pre Internet (RU-vid), Seeing / meeting someone in AC that didn't "fit the profile" or look like they belonged there and thinking (asking) "WTF Are you doing here" .. Fields Ave "Walking St".. I hate that term / reminds of of Walking St, Pattaya .. Families on "Fam Vaca" w/ Baby Carriages, just "taking in the Red Light sights, on Walking St" .. A good point about saying too much, I knew a guy that did 17 years in a prison there and died inside of diphtheria because he was caught out by something he said trying to promote his sex tours to the PI, an infamous british newspaper saw his brochure and went to the PI with the pedo story already made up and along with an Irish priest set the guy up......actually there was nothing in his brochure about that sort of thing, years later drinking in a bar in Bangkok I got talking to a stranger that said he was once a reporter for that paper and he didn't know what I knew and stated that he was sick about the things he used to do including setting a guy up in the PI.................period

I'm a big fan of Angeles. That was my introduction to the Philippines. I'm not a big fan of Walking Street though. Let people live and do their thing but it's not for me. Angeles is an incredible launch pad to travel to all the mountains and hiking areas on Luzon. That city is going to change and grow so much more once those rail lines are finished.

You forgot about the group that doesn't go to the bars but get girls online, or the type that get a girl to give out their contact to sneak out of her bar. There are trolls or cheapskates just as well as big ballers and big spenders but some guys are smart with the money that live in AC and pay a girl well enough, bypassing the bars' cut and all the lady drink crap. If you have big balls, great but its a waste of money. If a girl just wants to get drunk, she can do it while singing videoke or in your place.

Weekend warriors/vacationers/punters don't have time to worry about figuring out ways to scam the bars out of the barfine. They're just enjoying having access to the bargirls. Compared to the US, cheap food, cheap drinks and cheap hotels.
