Without a doubt, Thrice has consistently been the most significant band to me. It's eerie to see how parallel my life runs with Thrice. I grew up in Irvine just a few minutes from where they went to high school and first formed and Identity Crisis / Illusion of Safety hit me right as I was in punk phase in middle school as my first avenue into loving music in general. Now, the Biblical themes in their recent albums really stick with me as my own faith has deepened in recent years. Looking forward to their concert in NYC in June!
Man, how can it be possible that all the members of this band always make music in a way that I love, with this inexplicable melodic connection between each other.
This song sounds fkin amazing!! I'm just here listening to it over and over trying to imagine Dustin's vocals on top. These guys didn't miss a beat. Thrice is back!
+Xmari0hX Thrice fans are getting older, OG fans are approaching or over 30. So dad rock will become a pretty good description very soon, if not already.
this is insane. im soo soo happy. y'all have been my favorite band since 2006, and i can never get enough! thank you so much for existing and sharing your talent with the world.
Godspeed, guys. The music you make is so much closer to those who listen to it, than most music and most listeners. You've always done something different, and it's friggin awesome.
Thrice your guys music helped me through such tough parts of my life ! I want to thank you guys for putting out such great music im sure im not the only fan who feels this but your music def touched this individual right here and help give me the mind set to fight through the tough times THANK YOU
Been a fan since Identity Crisis sometime around 2002 when I was a senior in high school. Stopped caring when Vheissu was released, but I'm down to give you guys another chance!
Haha, I feel so ridiculous. Im watching that clip for the 10th time and although its interesting to hear what they are saying I mainly do that because of these awesome second-long snippets of music in there. Cant wait, its just been too long since the last Thrice-album!
+jc matias Sounds like heavy post rock. I got some Caspian vibes from it, especially after listening to Dust and Disquiet......... please I need this in my life now.
It would have been really weird to walk into a coffee shop and be served by Eddie from one of my favorite bands. I don't know how I'd have handled it, probably poorly.
"Working in a coffee shop..." wow really? wtf did they not make any sort of cash to just sit back and relax for a year? if that's the case, fuck it's sad that some idiots make millions with trash music
So am I, but you'd think a guy playing in a relatively famous band (concert in NYC was sold out and completely packed June 16th) wouldn't need to work these kind of jobs.
The band got very liberal with their spending afterwards. Dustin spent all his money on leather diaper bags, Teppei bought dozens of Panda Express restaurants, Riley bought a drum set made out of whale bones, and Ed purchased a bass crafted out of 100 year old fettucini pasta.
OR maybe he just wanted to keep from being/getting bored... I know a few people who have money & don't NEED to work, but they do it to keep from going stir crazy. Plus, a coffee shop would be a good place to keep you occupied & stay social with people & allow you to keep your mind off of it as a result... That's what I think it more than likely was, not that he was actually "broke"
