Damn. I have been listening to these guys since high school and I cant believe I am still playing their music on a daily basis 11 years later.. Long live Thrice.
Im a french girl, i was listening to thrice when i was 18 i. Think on a radio in internet and it was my first song from them, the song touched me to the core, Im 36 now. Too bad he never come to paris.
A love this song. A dont understand why people always have to pick away at what obviously is a class tune and try to make it less than what it is!!! Its like everyone always have to point out something better but there is blatently nothing wrong with wot is on at the moment!!!! If u ken wot a mean??? xx
I heard that too. Nicely put. Now hopefully another great debate won't ensue. I think it's interesting that he is devout but the song lyrics seem to be about questioning some of those beliefs... the best part is the pearls before swine reference
@ididntdonuthin ..i know..i was saying to everyone else why fight about if they are or arent....didnt make myself clear enough i guess lol...and yes i agree with u too they are a very talented band..true i love there older stuff but outta everysong they have wrote red sky is my fav
i think that its great that he's a christian that doesnt inflict his religion on other people i think thats what meaning a christian means.. i mean you cant hate the guy for having different beliefs.. sorry but you cant.. plus lets face it he's got alot of talent
@chicarelli1983 actually thrice isnt a christian band. while their music does take a lot of themes from christianity and other religions they have stated that they are not a christian band, and that the bands members are not all christian...but everything else you said about thrice is pretty spot on as they are an amazing band
@@Devmasterv the version I play isnt the live one like this. The one with violins is definitely a whole step down though. Haven't played with this one yet
Yep. Ironically enough my guitar is tuned a half step down due to having to substitute a broken G string for a D... Was going to play along and was like "Aw man, I'm a half step down..." Lo and behold, no bar chords for me! Also, I just noticed your comment is 6 months old. Oh well.
dustin is NOT an outspoken christian, he admits he is christian, but he never imposes his beliefs on others through his music or otherwise. the great thing about dustin's lyrics is that they touch you on a personal level whether youre religious or christian or atheist or buddhist or whatever and thats what makes thrice's music great. its not preaching religion or christianity like some of those ridiculous christian rock bands, they encourage you to seek truth more than anything else.
hm i think this is a song... noone wants to sing along, cause his voice is so awesome... if i was there i would have just listened to him and dream along... just awesome...
@Grimeyhoob "they encourage you to seek truth more than anything else" Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus.
He lives up the street from me, Ive even jammed with him before on a couple occasions in his backyard. Not sure if you really met him, there really isn't a mean bone in his body, he doesn't even drink.
@Grimeyhoob I massively disagree that he's not outspoken about his beliefs. Maybe not so much in the older stuff but in their newer material many of it is Christ-centered. Image of the invisible and Come all you weary are two blatant examples. There are loads of their songs that are written directly and unashamedly about Christ. However what I love is his passion and desire to see the world changed for the better and I think this is infectious regardless of your beliefs.
