I had the same experience with an electric car I rented - nothing but range anxiety over whether you could get there or not and then the huge amount of time wasted recharging it - never again...
Greetings from Australia/Downunder. Imagine my surprise when, this morning I visited my local super large hardware store here in Goulburn NSW to meet in the flesh a new APE..left hand drive and all. It was a prop for a kitchen manufacturer. I had forgottten how tiny they are!
The coral ‘rocker’ is for a foot rest which can be used with a rocking chair. Here in the US, we do not think highly of the ‘electric car’….actually too costly, for only short distances & does not work in cold climates. We much advise people to use the renewable ordinary gas for any travel. Love that your Mom likes colorful clothes!

I mean they had great marketing PR by the state government to be "eco", but logistically the battery which will cost you thousands to replace. I can't imagine where you would drive it? I am in Northern Ca. NO WAY I would try to drive that car to travel anywhere in Ca., honestly unless you are using your car only in town they are super dangerous to trust your with your family's safety. It just fiscally doesn't make sense. Because Ca., is being FORCED to buy these toxic dumps I looked into them, I consulted my mechanic and he said, it will keep him in business as they cost a fortune when they breakdown. Literally everything will go. Hybrids are even worse because they don't even have the huge battery the fully electric have hence the starter AND the gasket blows from too much starting off and on. Just no. California shouldn't be forced to buy electric when they don't want it for fiscal reasons, for safety reasons, or environmental reasons etc. I certainly don't support its use.
I’m sorry you had so much trouble with the battery car. Emotions run high when speaking about controversial subjects. Every situation is different and valuable. At 3:31 it is called a "gout stool". It is used to elevate the foot and legs to alleviate the pain for those that suffer from gout. They were popular during the Victorian/Gilded Age era. At 4:48 was definitely used to hide a chamber pot before interior plumbing! At 14:35 really, 15 euros for all of those decanter stoppers is a great bargain! Do you have an electric car? Calling it "complete garbage" is harsh especially if it's not coming from personal experience ... people who choose to use electric might have their own charging station at their house.... eventually as it all improves that would make sense.
A forward thinking person would be able to see the benefits long term... I'm sure some people didn't want to give up the horse and buggy when the car was invented either.. my husband remembers during covid when people stayed home we could actually see the mountains because the air was so clear. Like with everything there is a learning curve. But i don't think any of us would get anything done with our horse and buggy.
But at least the horse and buggy was replaced by something better - short distance; range anxiety and the charging times needed are all backward steps plus we are now seeing thousands of useless evs with depleted batteries that no one can afford to replace and no-one wants to buy...
I agree electric cars are complete GARBAGE. Hybrids are even worse as they will cost you a fortune when they break. I live in California, electric cars are either catching on fire, leaving people stranded or cutting out without a close charging station and when it comes to repairs they cost a lot more than a regular gas powered car. Then there are even more problems for you when you DO have to charge it as most major cities here are 100+ milies apart it could leave you stranded as a woman in the middle of NOWHERE waiting for your car to charge. Even Elon says the industry needs to address the failures inherent in electric cars like the batteries and the toxic manufacturing and production process of the even acquiring the main components of the car are destroying the environment, there is literally no upside to it. Electric cars will always be a hard pass for me for California, I will buy used in Ca when I purchase and new outside of Ca. since they are FORCING us to only buy electric in California. So I guess even in Europe where the cities towns are so close to each other this is an issue?? WOW. I am so glad you and your mom made it home safe.
From personal experience I can tell you that Hybrids can be great. I’ve had 3 Lexus ones and all were wonderful cars! No repairs to speak of, ran beautifully and saved on gas. Fun shopping trip to watch - thank you! We go to Lake Como fairly often - what shops and in what towns?
@@carefulshopper4239 Not everyone can afford a Lexus hybrid which is still considered a luxury car. True it is just a Japanese car and considered more reliable than most in their class it can not out run even a gas powered car in overall all long term reliance out of class due to issues with the eco settings they are not meant to be run on such a small battery. It causes wear and tear on the gasket and starter they are ticking time bombs every single one. Lexus used to be tanks and made sense the new electric cars are meant to be disposable. To me that is less eco friendly. If you keep running them instead of changing them out when the warranties run out and getting a new Lexus yeah, someone else is inheriting your problems it doesn't mean the problem unfortunately go away for the actual car in a normal lifetime for a car. To me it isn't that eco, fiscally sound nor safe in the long term when you need long term reliability without having to continually swap them out when the warranties run out. Yeah hard pass. If I was to buy a car I would opt for a smaller gas powered Audi SUV or even the Porsche Macan/ turbo. At least I am getting my money's worth both have excellent long term reliability as long as you keep up the maintenance on them plus the ride is amazing.
