I was hating on this game before all the changes too but now that I am playing this game is pretty solid 6-7/10 for sure. The combat system really isn't that bad. Your review sounds clickbaity/salty tbh.

I've noticed streamers/people who start out as DPS are having a great time and those who started as Tank (especially combined with Healer) not so much because those classes/weapons don't shine until later on and it makes the game appear clunky and slow in the lower levels if you aren't DPS. This game was originally designed as a PvP game and will shine with ability vs ability PvP I think.

And here we see how one person only bases the review of an entire game by killing wolves in the initial area at level 11 which you obtain in 10 minutes. He also complains about the inability to move with many abilities but decides to use the tab target camera instead of the action combat one. A very bad way to review a game. The game is not just combat and even less so at low levels.

Combat is a solid 7, 8 if you enjoy tab target. The biggest elefant in the room is the auction house.

Games a 0/10 for me for 1 reason. You can still see the mouse icon while holding RMB to rotate the camera.

Personally I didn't like the combat at all. He feels like a poorly created Frankenstein. It was preferable for it to be full tag-target or full action combat, they wanted to make a mix of the 2 gw2-type styles and in the end what was left was a combat system that feels uncomfortable and over time not very entertaining. This implies what it is like to want to improvise on the fly and try to please everyone and in the end what they brought was a boring product. In Korea it is not having the expected success, you just have to look at the numbers, 150k people who pre-registered, which for a launch of a Korean mmorpg is a failure, the standard exceeds one million and the server numbers are 30.50. Obviously we will have to wait for the quarterly financial report to know with certainty the magnitude of the disaster that the game represents economically.

Hey. I respect you making this video. But most games cannot be evaluated at low level, especially an MMO. I haven't even watched the full video and regardless of the content, good or bad, the fact that you are level 11 means you are not a creditable source for a full game review. Not even an early game review because that is typically done in relation to endgame which you have not reached. Nothing against sharing your opinion. But end game is the primary portion of an MMO and not much can be said at only level 11. Mostly it will be speculation without any core evidence. Endgame pvp? Endgame PvE? Endgame crafting? Endgame guild management? Topics that make or break an MMO you have no experience with as a level 11 player. Goodluck.

Thank you for your early review. I don't agree with some point : - combat : maybe I'm wrong but you can roll no ? Animation feel powerful and combat decent for a tab target - battlepass or p2w : we will see, i think it's too early to tell, we need to keep an eye and also remind it's the kr version like you said. But it's F2p they need to make money in some way. I think it will fit to a specific community of the west like people who used to play aion or archeage in the past.

just testing the game and i feel kinda the same about the combat, i mean im still not used to it, so cant say it suck, but it feel pretty clunky imo, and still deciding how to play it, classic, action or with controller, till now nothing feel really nice. I will need to switch a lot of buttons probably to feel it better, but so far it remind me a lot the bless online combat, a game that i tested long long ago and died pretty quick (but ok it was not just because of the combat, but a lot of other problems too).

Crazy it definitely like a 5/10

Neeko's rating is mostly accurate. Major flaws in the game are the endgame loop is so bad. It revolves around doing gvg events which you can do from the start and doing dungeons daily which are so dull since the dungeons mostly have 3 mechanics that are repeated over and over again. Another thing is the combat. Yes the combat became faster once you hit level 50 but it is still feels so sluggish and slow compared to the latest games like lost ark and BDO. This game is super guild oriented meaning this is only meant for sweaty and hardcore players. If you are a casual or solo player then you wont even experience most content this game has to offer. You will either get killed with one combo in the pvp events or you will have a very hard time doing pve content as having a static gives a huge advantage. Another is weapon class imbalance. Some weapons like healers and tanks have a harder time doing solo pve content like towers compared to dps classes, sometimes so imbalanced that you cant even finish the content at all as there are dps checks that is impossible to meet before the boss enrages. Another major flaw is that dungeon or party drops cannot be traded to your friends even if you have acquired it in the same dungeon run. Its either you dismantle it or sell it in the auction house. The lifeskill in this game is so bad unlike new world where you can progress them to certain levels where it gives extra boosts when doing them. Crafting on the other hand is lackluster compared to other games like new world. The worst downside of this game is this is heavily dependent on the population of the server. If there are no new players then most of the gameplay will be affected since most of the contents are centered around partying. There are cross server events yes but that are only a handful of events you can do in certain times. There is no catch up mechanic in this game meaning a player who started from day 1 will have a huge advantage over a player who started a week late as the only way to acquire materials to upgrade your gears and skills is by doing the time gated events. It will then lead to a snowballing effect where the rich gets richer and you as a new player will die in one combo in the core content of the game which is pvp. Other flaws are there are a lot of leveling bottlenecks that cant be compensated by quests. Skins are so bad that even mobile games have better costumes to offer. This game looks more grindy than new world where you need to do it as a second job or worse your main job in order to not fall behind as most materials needed for upgrades can only be acquired thru time gated events. This is an essay but this mostly reflects the 2/10 neeko posted and I think he is being generous with the score of 2

i respect your opinion but next time at least be more serious and respectful about a review. 2/10 is just a way to call for attention at this point if you dont like the game is fine but at least as a ''Early review'' Consider next time to offer something more serious like Optimization ,Graphics and all the work behind this game. Players that complaint about any p2w are the one who wants a lot of good things in a game, but they don't want to help the dev by buying items in the game. they just complaint and want everything to be free. They have to pay employees and much more, how you think they going to do that, and players can keep playing the game? the game is free you can play the game for free. But let other players that help the game spent money so youuuuuu can keep playing. The game is great combat is good I'm lvl 48 just keep playing and stop complaining on tutorial lvl -_-

I play on KR too surely it isn't the greatest combat but I do think it's actually not as bad as you make it out to be. Surely if BDO is the standard then yeah it's very bad but if you compare it to Wow or Archeage it ain't that bad. Game has issues with lvling and the balancing on end-game lvl 50 dungeons feels off.

if this game feels like a gacha game, ohhh boy it will sell!! in Korea...(speaking about IS), I was dreaming about modern Lineage II title but damn grind in that game is to much for working person, good they changing systems but I think we will see return of bad monetization 2-3month after Global Release Day and as always marketing department will try sell it to us as new game feature.

The thing you need understand about release a game. You dont want release game 2 place at same time or else you lose players base. Having first in KR boost number people going play in KR the time only there. Its just basic logic.

The game gets better past level 30 and the skills open up. In short, if you like games like BDO and Tera then this game is not for you but if you like old school mmos like Lineage 2 and Aion, then you will like this game.

this game feels oldschool because as you said they made it to feel so. Dont forget that its actually Lineage 3, they just renamed it. For people like me who enjoy this kinds of MMOs the combat is fine. WoW had this type of combat, Aion (a lil bit) had it and still people was having fun. The most annoying part is the P2W tho.

I think most comments on here do not understand that NCSOFT stays a float because of their auto play mobile games. What TnL really is, is 2 projects that were scrapped then decided to take the mobile approach with a visual upgrade. 10+ years and this is what they came up with? It has its set player base and they throw money at auto play games from ncsoft. The better question is will this game survive in KR before its first 2 updates? While yes he might have played an hour and was sick of it, the game as a whole is just a quest simulator that rewards you petty materials on the daily with some distractions of boss timers that you may or may not get anything. It's just an opinion but time will tell if he's right or wrong. My opinion is before the update it was like any of their lineage mobile games but with a graphic overhaul and now the game plays like Aion but still stuck on a 20 year old tab target system.

Its over. Sad to see the graphics go to waste. They built the game around visuals, monetization, and nothing else. The systems are barbaric in this game. Farm and swipe to pvp simulator. The pve is surface level- just there to get you to swipe.

This is the best mmorpg on the market right now. About p2w, all mmorpgs are currently p2w, you can buy everything in websites for WoW, until they remove RMT from all games, and this is a FREE game, monetization is soft and the mechanics, quests, everything doesn't make you an alt slave like Lost Ark, well, Lost Ark is not an mmorpg is a complete piece of garbage that's why only bots are in. Performance is the best, no channels, no layers, 10k people in the same map and smooth performance with hundreds of players around you which no mmorpg has. Attention to detail that not even AAA games have. All world is open, no instances nor loading screens, everything is beautiful even using teleport. For now is the best free to play mmorpg. I would take the opinion of people who invested thousands of hours into Lost Ark with......a pinch of salt.

I still dont understand the original decision to have auto oriented combat. Maybe this is a thing in the Korean mmo scene. As a dev you are removing a lot of the players own agency in playing the game if you automate and simplify too many systems related to combat.

old lineage guy? hey am a well aged wine :D (played lineage 2 for 21 years) had fun with it, had my hopes on TL but i have to say it looks bad, i played new world which is far more better, but not giving me the vibe. i just stopped with mmorpgs most are money grabbers, which i normaly just avoid, dont care about spending some money but, if it gets almost mandatory than am out. ill just stick to cities skylines 2 :D

I can not understand. All your previous videos talked badly about MMOs, it seems like you don't like the genre. Yes, all games have flaws, and there is room for improvement, but Throne and Liberty is a GOOD GAME, yes, it's P2W, but it's polished, the MSQs are good, the classes are fun! Honestly I'd be embarrassed to make one video to influence a community not to play a game that you yourself visibly didn't even play.

ngl i think it could be a really fun game if it had good combat. The combat is very boring, non engaging, and just slow. I'm fine with tab target games, my favorite mmorpg, rose online is one, but idk what it is it just feels bad. And even at max level, your damage will not be very much higher than a level 20 which is not fun at all and not incentivizing me to get maxed or grind at all.

A few things looked strange when i watched this video. 1) the quality of the graphics between your footage and everyone else is like night and day. You do mention that you are not playing in high settings, but the visual fidelity of a game is part of the experience so that makes you lose a bit of credibility. 2) it's one thing to refuse to play 50 hours just for the sake of a review, but playing 4 hours and showing the equivalent of 5min of footage to illustrate your points isnt professional when claiming "early review" in the title. 3) Your grading system is either childish or clickbaity, or both. It's one thing that you dont like this game, but again, a professional who cares about his youtube presence would try to draw some list of positives and negatives while explaining while the game subjectively isnt their taste. 4) You make very little attempt to explain any system that would help picturing the progression journey, which is key in an mmo, when other people had no issue doing that in an objective manner: just describing it. This means you have no idea or worse, are intentionally hiding information because of your bias. 5) Your comments about the questing is were you tried your hardest to be rational, but you just cant help yourself. go there and click on somone is exactly what you do in BDO as you said, but also in WoW and FFXIV when you are in very low levels. From actual memory of playing all these titles, only GW2 had a cool dynamic quest system and immediate world events upon starting. You then go on about calling a quest system that gives you one reward 5:33 gacha - err why exactly? you want to have quests with no rewards? Gacha games give you dopamine hits for logging in, rewards are actually scaled in questing. What you are describing is quest design of eastern mmo giving a lot of garbage loot and various currencies to induce a certain behaviour. This is an eastern MMO, so while it sucks, it's to be expected but nothing to do with gacha or mobile games. BDO was riddle with these. Final point, the fact that you are getting into the comments to literally be aggressive towards people who have bothered to give you not only a view but also a comment for the algorhythm is just incredible. Unless you have basically no desire to grow your channel, you ought to take the advice that some people are giving in these comments. But why would you, you're clearly toxic and frankly, judging purely from the above and your attitude in the comments, the wig and the red nose suited you.
