Throttle Body Synchronization On A BMW R1200 RT And Similar Motorcycles 

Throttle body sync, or what BMW calls "engine synchronization," ensures that the throttle body butterfly flaps are working together and that the air being drawn into the cylinders for combustion is balanced. By simultaneously measuring vacuum of each cylinder while the engine is running we can balance or "sync" the throttle bodies using a cable adjustment.
Since the BMW R1200 series, including the RT, GS, and R models, uses idle actuators to allow the ECU to control idle speed, it's best to disable those stepper motors while performing the synchronization. The GS-911 scanner and software will allow you to do that and to calibrate the actuators, which is shown in this video.
