It is! I run when I can. Work gets in the way most of the time but it’s fun when time permits it. The horn is def a fav for sure. I’m gonna post a heavy run 8 clip at some point with my hybrid LLA running a Christmas train.
@@easternroutemainlinevideos6823 most vilocos make it easy because they have a much softer spring than Graham whites. This ones stiff and kinda shot. It’s not easy to modulate the valve
Welcome! On the tourist railroad that I run on, the crossings aren’t terribly close together. I can splice in some videos combined at some point. Working on a few full throttle clips where the horn and engine are going a wee bit crazy.
i want to ride in a engine so bad lol, several years ago i went to a place called cass wv where there is a old style train that takes you to the top of the mountain, they let me ride in the engine on the way back down,, talk about feeling like a kid in a candy store lol,,
Good stuff man good stuff ! I have a old RS3 off of a ATSF Dash 7 and i work on a small Class 3 in Kentucky... How hard is it to take off the K3 thats on our main engine and put my Leslie on ? Is it plug n play or is it a little more complicated since the horns are 2 different brands ???
Thank you! Love RS3Ls! It really just depends on the horn mount to be honest. I’d speak to your shop guys and bosses for permission first so you don’t get in trouble. As for removing it, I could go into detail but I’d rather not especially on RU-vid because people love stealing horns and I do not want to essentially spell out how to do it on a video with this many views.
Do you guys have a Thing called REBAT (Rolling Emergency Brake Application Test) when leaving the yard we have it here where the dispatcher or signal controller instructs you to reach 20mph and you tell them you reached the 20mph speed limit and then they give you permission to commence the Rolling emergency brake application test
There’s several ways to tell the rough ages of horns based on casting marks, tuning, hardware, and machining. This one has something specially machined on the foot of the 1 bell that says shut up, Greg. 😂
There’s many different reasons. The half stage you hear me sound in this video is known as a “quill” or “modulate” horns as part of your style of sounding a crossing sequence like I did here, or it’s used when you don’t want to use the full intensity of the horn let’s say in a residential area late at night with low traffic.
