As a young woman, Amanda Rose Ferraro has been through countless adversities. From birth she has had a fight in her that displayed her strength. There have been many struggles that Amanda has overcome, many of those struggles being her own medical experiences. From being born with double pneumonia, to needing several brain surgeries and even fighting cancer as a mother, Amanda’s story is one with filled with determination and persistence. Although there have been many trying times in her life, Amanda remains positive and optimistic. Amanda Rose Ferraro is a young woman whose story is one of sheer ambition. Her first moments of life were filled with chaos as she was rushed to the NICU with a diagnosis of double pneumonia. At the age of eight she had her first brain surgery, all while her aunt was undergoing treatment for cancer. Even though Amanda was young, she ascertained a positive look on life. It was when her younger sister was diagnosed with brain cancer that Amanda realized writing was a very helpful way to express her emotions and remain strong. Amanda has had seven brain surgeries all together as well as battling leukemia as a young mother. She has started a website and blog to share her story with others and communicate how she been able to find strength during hard times This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
