@@DaneOrschlovsky It breaks my heart as a disabled veteran to see illegals get better treatment than many veterans that have served this country and came home injured physically or psychologically but still work 60 hours a week and pay their taxes.
I feel the exact same thing. I watched this movie when it was relased in Europe many years ago, and this scene is still haunting me. I can't believe how cruel humans can be. This is really really sad, so heart breaking, and unfortunately still exists.
I promiss I'm not trying to be edgy this movie is tragic but when me and my brother first saw this in theaters we both died laughing, to be fair my brother wasn't laughing but I laughed so loud he couldn't help but laugh too.
It was kinda funny tho , imagine going upto a person in a wheelchair expecting him to stand up and then get angry because of his inability to do so lol , this scene gave me a good laugh
@@nickybluechips7567 More like the Franco-Prussian War, lol. That guy was like 80 years old. This is 1940, so WW1 ended 22 years ago. People who served in that war would have been around 40-45 years old.
@@bowser_56_56 Yeah, have some respect for the fake atrocity movies meant to distract you from the fact the "victims" are the perpetrators of all real atrocities!
@@user-nk6fh6hn1p it's very good. It's a true story about a man who was a very well known pianist. Movie shows how he was saved and a Germsn officer befriended him .
“When good men fail to act” Good men couldn’t act because of both the soviets and the Germans. Poland is an example of bad geography during ww2 being in between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany
@@Zionist654Nah, it's more a way to explain that it's good men in Germany, and Russia who did allow such horrifying things to happen. We have stopped today. But maybe we should restart considering that, including in authoritarian governments, the populations have a responsability towards the horrors their governments are doing. Including by having kept them in power.

No u must watch more RU-vid shorts where the holocaust is exaggerated to make Jewish suffering seem worse. Do not question the holocaust data. Ur an antisemite. We should make children watch this instead of cartoons.
No no no, that's white people dying. We need people to see how bad the holocaust was even if it's not accurate one bit. Then we can move on to worshiping warcrimes by showing Inglorious Bastards.
The first time I saw this scene, I froze. I was paralyzed in shock and felt my heart stop for a second. Years later, it still disturbs me. Without the necessity of blood, this is one of the heaviest scenes I ever watched.
Because it makes pressure on our hearts. As normal human beings, born in a period of peace, educated to love and respect others, seeing a poor man, who probably was wounded during ww1, thrown out like trash, is a tragedy. It makes pressure on our hearts, also because, deep down, you think "hey, that could be my grandpa... poor soul". It's movie like this that remember us why we don't want those evil things to happen again. Human minds easily forget bad things far in time. Better see those things, and wound our hearts every time, than letting those things really happen.
but they thought they were the good guys, the Communists they were fighting murdered the entire royal family of Russia, like bruh the Soviets murdered princesses
Exactly. Being neutral you dont do nothing, you fail to help someone in need. So you help the oppressor. This is universal truth, this is what heppens now in Ukraine.
Yup just how no one is doing nothing about Israel killing thousands of Palestinian women and children specifically targeting civilian homes….. funny how the oppressed become the oppressors.
@@CodyFaceX That's a misattribution, Burke wrote a much longer piece which talks of when men understand each other they can see and resist evil, when seperate they get picked off one at a time, in highly "diverse" societies with differing mores and languages there is that weakened state.
Nazis doesn't want weak people in there country but in this case they properly did this because they can, Nazis just don't want disabled or weak people when THEY ARE BORN so if you got shot or something and become disabled you are fine but if you are born with it..well unlucky stats try again.
I remember seeing this scene for the first time as a kid. To think the Jews were actually treated like this is insane. I don’t understand how anyone could do such horrible things too innocent people and then sleep at night.
They may have been confused as to what they were doing. May have been a deer in headlights situation. They are also surrounded by soldiers with guns. There are obvious explanations that make more sense than "they didnt care." Stupid comment.
The tragic part is how they can clearly see the old dude is in a wheelchair; they knew he probably couldn't stand up if he wanted to, yet they still demanded he do it and murdered him when he "didn't comply". Absolutely monstrous.

My grand grand dad was severly beaten by Germans because he didn't take his hat off to greet them. His hands were occupied because he was holding horses. Living in Poland occupied by Germans was only about avoiding death, slowly starvation and humiliation on daily basis
My polish grandfather was beaten by russian soldiers as a boy because they wanted food. Then most of my family that didnt get out starved under soviet rule. Funny that im the product of those two peoples.

Some just follow the orders like mindless zombie, some were eager with following that. The worst were the German neighbours, because they couldn't wait to seize his Polish neighbours belongings. My family was pushed to swap the farm with some poor German from the same village, because it couldn't be in Nazi Germany that Polish subhuman have better farm than German. They were ordered to left every private belongings. True there is a new Nazi cult in Canada and they are trying to get power it’s essentially just like in Germany where the Nazi invaded Germany first. Now same thing is happening in Canada. Just look up the political parties of Canada and you will see them.
@@chase4086 well just because you don’t want to know is the reason shit like this is allowed to happen people just didn’t want to bother with the reality they were faced with till it was their time To be taken.
Most of the scenes in that movie are faithful copies of reality. My neighbor who already died was Polish and Jewish, he said that he joined the Russian army and at the end of the war he worked in concentration camps for German POWs and he felt very happy when the Germans cried like little girls.
He was only human but the lesson of this should rather be not to let hate or resentment get into your heart. People are fooling themselves when they think Germans were especially devilish or inhumane to follow such a regimes will. They learned to resent Jews and when the time came people where manipulated into hating the scapegoat. This should be a lesson of history for all societies to be tolerant of people who are different, to not look down on other people as inferior and to watch carefully those who use populism and manipulation for their own ascension to power.
There's a reason for it. Our political landscape has changed and communism is on the rise. If something doesn't change, we may be facing this sooner than later. Be careful who you vote for.

It's mostly from the complete lack of reaction from the old man. He doesn't talk at all, And doesn't even show facial expression, The German soldiers just wheel him out and throw him off the balcony all whilst the old man just stares into space

This is what Biden and the Democrats would like to do to Republicans, just like the gestapo you see here. Well, they will face the wrath of 100 million armed American patriots if they keep up the fascist rhetoric.
What makes this scene even more realistic is the fact the family is shocked by the unimaginable monstrocity that they were in total disblief and couldn't even react until seconds before it actually happened.
