Although I was in primary school that year, I can still remember vividly when his campaign bus came to our street to campaign. We were group of young children just playing around the neighbourhood. We saw the bus packed on our street, without seeing anyone there, we began to sing "MKO is our man o" and all other jingles of his then. Suddenly, a young man appeared as the driver and gave us the highest currency then (20naira). We ate chocolates and drank lots of soft drinks from that money that day. That was one of the moments I never forgot while growing up. We were all heartbroken when we heard of his sudden demise. We were all waiting anxiously for his announcement as our new president then. Very unfortunate for Nigeria at that time.
Watch how a Nigerian presidential candidate was speaking 27yrs and ago and compare with the way the candidates speak today ; then judge by yourself if the country is going forward or backward. What a country!
"The most brilliant doctor in Norway might not have treated malaria before and you bring him to Nigeria to formulate policies on health for us" Very apt.. You fought a good fight MKO.. Rest on....
@@milomilosavage8402 we lost Abiola with this mindset. Stopped Awolowo from replicating the growth in western region across the country, and recently lost opportunity to get LP in power. Not sure when we will agree as people that power belongs to us, not politicians.
watching this video today, 16 July, points to Peter Obi with his words and messages to the people. We have seen MKO Abiola in Peter Obi. Let's all changes this course once and for all. This is the right time and no any other time but this.cominh election!
Ambrose Olowo what determination, to loot the country more ,he was a criminal, and his friends knew him too well , that's why they fucked him up ,boomerang, karma, seems you forgot, ITT,they made him pay for the crimes he committed on all nigerian police, and dangote will get same faith , tinubu included
The issue of ITT remains an allegation and I can't comment on what I do not know. However, even if he stole from ITT, he invested in Nigeria and established many companies and business opportunities that provided gainful employment for Nigerians. I am not sure he hid the money in any western country to help their economy and depress ours. Finally, irrespective of his past, injustice must never be condoned no matter the antecedents of the victim.
@@chimyyoungdoc519 he would have done better than the presidents we have since 1993 up to date except you are a nuisance this will be hard for you to figure out
@@ADE-of-LAGOS dangote is so rich because of your ignorance and more Nigerians like you, dangote can only flourish in a corrupt country like Nigeria, people like dangote would have been on the run if were to be a Russian under the great Putin, dangote have destroyed Nigeria economy with his fulani brethrens, monopolised every business in the country, what so u know, get sense I beg you
RIP, the great, irrepressible, kind-hearted MKO! Your ghost will perpetually hunt your killers, including those among them who are dead as they glided into eternal perdition. I was not too young in 1993 - I was of voting age but couldn't vote on account of change in residency shortly before the election month. My vote was to be yours automatic, given your pedigree, sincerity & genuineness to identify with commoners and fight their cause. We knew how liberal you were to everyone who came across you. Your footprints were in every field of human endeavour. A shrewd business man, flamboyant supporter of sports, philanthropist and pan-african. We were full of hope and ecstatic about a better tomorrow for our dear country then, back in June 1993; your campaign slogan was indeed 'Hope 93'. Unfortunately, the evil cabals and their international collaborators dimmed the common-man's HOPE with the annulment of your election as President, and your eventual assassination. 25 years after, it seemed the common-man's HOPE was gone into the grave with you! Alas, the hero in you, all of a sudden, re-surfaced with the recognition of your election as President, and presidential declaration of June 12 as Democracy day which ultimately immortalised the struggle for emancipation of the down-trodden that you died for. Event of the past week has just rekindled our hope that no matter what the forces of evil may do, good will prevail one day and Nigeria can actually re-discover herself. Let's therefore believe in our land that its best is yet to come. We will work for her good, and stand on the side of the truth always - as our PMB just did. Long live, Nigeria! (NOT NAIJA)
the fact that this speech made some 28years ago or thereabout still resonates today, is a testament that nigeria is still being played by the same handbook by same players. anyone with an interest to lead nigeria would do well to get m.k.o's manifesto albeit very little changes and implement. Nigeria shall be great again
The president that never rule. Moshuud Kashimawo Olawale Abiola. You came and you tried your best. May Almighty Allah forgive tour shortcomings and make you an inhabitant of Paradise.
His core aspiration was meritorious and indigenous control of the state affairs. He really embodied independence. Would have been nice to see him in power.
This is a business man in which we strongly believe that business men can run this country favourably to better change. This is incredible, is is not done without God's intervention.
Omoyele Sowore is the carbon copy of MKO. Extremely intelligent, brave, determined, and vibrant. Nigerians have a second chance to get Nigeria back to her fit by voting SOWORE (#AAC PARTY). and this is the time for all this old politicians to do what is right by stepping down for Omoyele Sowore,. why because he has the same ideas and determinations like MKO had to change Nigeria. #Belivemeguys. So, let's #TAKEITBACK.
This was the campaign speech that got him ‘taken care of’. How dare this civilian promise and surely would do what his predecessors couldn’t do in all of the wasted years to solve Nigeria? How dare him…. That was the mindset of his eliminators… Rest On, MKO!
Wow...he was truely a man of vision. He had seen Nigeria in and out. He wanted a Nigeria for Nigerians and so sad can anyone point out someone like him today..? This was the kind of man who would have groomed future leaders in Nigeria. We as Nigerians have truely lost.
Thamos Sankara was a visionary who was about to do might things for his country and for Africa as a whole. But they killed him, I was a little boy when MKO Abiola died . Watching this video today makes me realize that this man was another Sankara in Nigeria who would have done mighty things, but they killed him. May God help us.
It's very sad, just too sad. A country that kills anybody that stands for revolution because of their own selfish interests. May God help our beloved country NIGERIA
That he was killed even after Abacha had died shows that the "powers that be" at that time never wanted him. To some extent one could see that Abacha only acted according to the political tone of the moment/era....after all he didn't annul June 12, and he didn't kill MKO, those were the only 2 things done to him.
He may not be angel but atleast he had a kind heart and he was not wicked and heartless like these bunch we have now. A good heart and love for his fellow Nigerians.
Smart potential people capable of helping Nigeria have never had an opportunity lead. Where dishonesty and deception are the main obstacles, it is difficult. Not much have changed since all those years.
Yoruba nation must stand irrespective of what it will take , we cannot continue with a murdererous union with those who has continued to engaged us in clear tactical elimination of our brilliant people like MKO, Kudirat, ige .....
and this is why they made sure he never became President. I know one day they will also face their makers and answer to him/her/it. No one lives forever. God bless MKO, man of great vision.
This is one of the speech that killed him probably... This man didn't come to joke.... All the things he said here are core problems of Nigeria and why Nigeria is where it is today
